Charlotte Cooper looked at Henry Russell with red, teary, and complex eyes, full of distrust. "I don't believe you love me. You can't prove you love me, so how can I possibly believe it?"
Henry was slightly taken aback, his heart aching more. What had happened to make her like this?
They had been fine before, so why had everything changed now?
His voice hoarse and seemingly depressed, he asked, "Why don't you believe me? You know, you are my life! My life is yours, if this isn't love, then what is it?"
Charlotte listened, the corners of her mouth lifting ever so slightly. There was no denying that Henry's words caused her heart to flutter once more.
Her eyes were bright as she stared straight into the eyes of the man in front of her. She tiptoed closer, reached out to wrap her arms around his neck, and kissed him.
Henry's eyes showed a hint of surprise, followed by even greater joy. If the woman in front of him was taking the initiative, he would never let her go.
