Lending a hand

"It's almost two weeks now. You'll die at this rate."

Worried, Ursal speaks his mind towards Linalyn who is staring with dead fish eyes at the bonfire in front of the cabin.

As she had not eaten anything of substance outside of the dragon blood to sustain her magic, she had lost so much weight that her face became thin and paler than normal.

"I... it's better if I die. I'm an embarrassment for a knight, and an even bigger embarrassment for a servant of the Detrost family."

Ursal pauses for a second and took a deep breath. After that, he lets the air out as he sits down on the opposite side of the bonfire.

"It's admirable that you hold your family's pride in high regard in your current state, but you live in the real world. Honour and Pride means nothing in the battlefield."

Though she was weak, Linalyn had enough strength to get angry and look at Ursal who was already looking at her.

"What would a deserter know about Honour and Pride?"
