Arc 1: End of the World Cannon Fodder

Feng Yuze opened his eyes to a dimly lit room. There was a faint scent of mint in the room which instantly refreshed him.

'I'm in bed?' Feng Yuze thought as he sat up.

He stepped down from the bed and walked towards the full length mirror located in the corner of the room.

He put his hand to his cheek and muttered, "Did I transmigrate into another person's body?"

Reading it's host thoughts, System 505 replied, "Before the host transmigrated into this body, the original host had already passed away in bed due to a high fever."

"I searched for the most suitable body for you to possess and he was the perfect one. In order for you to be transmigrated into a person's body, you need to complete their last wish which will be added as a side mission."

"Got it." Feng Yuze said as he continued to check himself out in the mirror.

'I'm quite handsome,' Feng Yuze thought.

The body that he transmigrated into was very good looking. He looked very masculine. He had a sharp jaw line and a pair of violet colored eyes. He stood at a height of 6'1" and he had 5 piercings, 3 on his left ear and 2 on his right. He also had short silver hair that was neatly slicked back with gel.

"Pfft, what is this horrendous hair style?" He said holding his stomach as he laughed.

After his fit of laughter, he asked his system, "Is this hair color real or did the original owner dye it silver?"

"It's real. After the apocalypse began, the original host's hair turned from black to silver and his eyes turned violet because he developed the lightning ability." System 505 said.

"Then does this mean that those who have unusual hair color and eye color are ability users?"

"Yes, you are right. However, sometimes the ability user's hair will stay the same color as it originally was. We can accurately tell who is an ability user and what their ability is by eye color."

"Hmm, that's quite interesting." Feng Yuze said as he continued to gaze into the mirror. Noticing his great figure, he lifted his black shirt and found out that he has 8 pack abs.

"Wow! The original owner had such a great body! I can finally top!" He exclaimed.

"Sorry host, but the villain is a gong." System 505 said matter of factly.

Feng Yuze sighed, "There goes my dream of topping. I can be a power bottom then."

"Great idea host!"

Feng Yuze suddenly thought of something and asked, "Can I receive the plot line?"

"Sure host!" System 505 said with enthusiasm.

"In this world, the main characters are Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling. Kang Fu Yan is the protagonist and Song Mei Ling is the female lead. In the original plot line, Kang Fu Yan is a poor college student struggling to make ends meet. He has a scholarship to attend one of the most prestigious University in China. However, because of his poor background, he is always bullied by other classmates."

"The female lead, Song Mei Ling, is the Campus Belle. She is very beautiful and kind hearted and is thus very popular. When she sees the protagonist getting bullied, she saves him. Kang Fu Yan is grateful to the female lead and falls in love with her kind personality."

"Soon after, Kang Fu Yan begins to dream of the future apocalyptic world. At first he does not believe in the dreams, however after many incidents, he realizes that it is indeed real. He immediately tells Song Mei Ling. She does not believe him but Kang Fu Yan is able to convince her by telling her some future events that will happen. Song Mei Ling finally believes him. Kang Fu Yan finds out he has only 2 months left until the apocalypse, so he begins to prepare for the upcoming apocalypse with the help of Song Mei Ling."

"When the day of the apocalypse arrived, many people began to discover that they developed abilities. Only 75 percent of the surviving population were able to gain abilities, however many abilities were deemed useless. Kang Fu Yan realizes that his ability to see the future in his dreams was due to his ability. He also finds out that not every dream will come true as the future is constantly changing."

"He found out that not only does he have the ability to see the future, he also has the rare and strong ability to use fire. Song Mei Ling also finds out that she has the space ability. Together, they travel to the closest military base located in City A. This is where they meet the villain, Yuan Tianyu later on."

"Yuan Tianyu is grandson of the military leader Yuan Cheng in City A. As Yuan Cheng was getting older, he planned to pass down his position to his grandson, Yuan Tianyu. Yuan Tianyu has never been in a relationship before because he never felt any attraction to anyone."

"Yuan Cheng's only wish was to see Yuan Tianyu getting married as Yuan Tianyu was already 27 years old. Yuan Cheng arranged for Yuan Tianyu to meet the daughter of his old friend in City S. Yuan Tianyu agreed because it was the first time his grandfather had requested something from him. So Yuan Tianyu went to City S to meet the daughter of his grandfather's old friend."

"Coincidently, this was also when the end of the world happened. Because of this, the grandson and grandfather were separated. Yuan Cheng took control of City A's military base and sent soldiers out to find Yuan Tianyu."

"Yuan Tianyu loved his grandfather very much and believed that his grandfather was still alive. So Yuan Tianyu traveled back to City A along with his teammates. It would usually take 2 days by plane to get to City A from City S, however it took him 3 months to travel on foot because of the many zombies in his path."

"At this time, the protagonist and the female lead formed a squad together in City A and with the use of their super powerful abilities, they became the number 1 squad in the base and were respected. Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling plotted to kill the leader of the base, Yuan Cheng."

"They succeeded and were able to become the rulers of City A's base. Yuan Tianyu arrived at the City A's base 1 day later and when he found out that Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling killed his grandfather, he was furious."

"As a result, Yuan Tianyu and the main characters became sworn enemies. Since the main characters had the citizens of City A base on their side, they succeeded in kicking out Yuan Tianyu and his teammates."

"Yuan Tianyu relocates to a prison and converts it into a base. After gaining power to rival City A's base, Yuan Tianyu battled with Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling. Yuan Tianyu was a level 5 ability user while Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling were level 4 ability users. The main characters won the battle because Yuan Tianyu's best friend betrayed him."

"After Yuan Tianyu's death, Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling took control of the prison and combined it with City A's military base with the help of wood, metal, and gold ability users. They were able to reach the pinnacle of life in the apocalypse."

"However after the villain's rebirth, the villain counterattacked and killed the main characters Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling. After their death, the world completely shattered and collapsed. After the Main System discovered this, the Main System was able to use its backup data to restore the world one last time."

After taking in some much information from the system, Feng Yuze frowned.

"What kind of main characters are those? Aren't they worse than the villain?" Feng Yuze couldn't help but mention.

"That may be so. However, the main characters of each world are chosen by the Main System, so I have no say in this as I am just a minor System working under the Main System." System 505 said sadly.

Noticing the system's sad tone, Feng Yuze switched the topic and asked, "What is the identity of the original host?"

"Host, you are currently in the body of Cannon Fodder #39, Feng Yuze."

"Oh? He has the same name as me?" Feng Yuze asked with interest.

"Yes, I did this on purpose so that during the first world you will have some time to get used to it. In the next world, you will have a different name."

"Thank you. Where am I and at what point of the plot did I transmigrate into?" Feng Fuze asked System 505.

"You are currently in City A's Base. You transmigrated near the beginning of the plot which is 3 weeks after the beginning of the apocalypse. At this point in time, the main characters barely arrived at the base a week ago. During this time, the main characters formed their squad, The Mighty Lions."

"The original host was made second in command due to his strong lighting ability. The original host was about to embark on a D-Rank mission to gather supplies from the grocery store with The Mighty Lions, however the day before the mission, the original host came down with a fever causing the rest of the teammates to postpone the mission for a day later, which is today."

"This means you need to inform the Squad leader, which is the protagonist, that you are well enough to partake in the D-Rank Mission." System 505 informed him.

"Wow, are you sure the original host was just a cannon fodder?" Feng Yuze asked.

Feng Yuze thought it was weird that the original had such a huge role in the plot, especially since he was just cannon fodder #39.

"Yes, the original host was just a cannon fodder. Although he was cannon fodder #39, he played a big role in the plot. This is because the original host was a key member of the protagonist and female lead's squad, The Mighty Lions. The original host was the second in command of the Squad. He was considered a strong powerhouse with the lightning ability."

System 505 continued, "Furthermore, the original host was pushed off a building by the female lead and protagonist to escape from a horde of zombies."

"Wow, I can't believe Kang Fu Yan and Song Mei Ling killed their powerful second in command. What a waste." Feng Yuze said, sighing.

"Oh, and I have to inform you. You will be able to go OOC. Usually this is not the case, however since there is a virus in the Main System which was the reason for the villain's rebirth, it's fine. Furthermore, you are going to be changing the plot a little bit because the original is supposed to die by the hands of the main characters, but the Main System gave permission to change the plot only if you are able to seduce the villain and save the world from collapsing." System 505 said.

Feng Yuze thought about it for a moment and then replied, "That makes sense. But what if the villain notices my abnormalities?"

"Don't worry dear host! The villain would just think your actions are a result of his rebirth!"

Feng Yuze nodded.

"Oh, I forgot to mention this. Host will be able to buy things from the System Store with points. Points can be earned by competing missions. Host can also store items in the System Space which can be taken out at any time." System 505 said.

"What are my missions for this world?" Feng Yuze asked.

"Hold on Host, I'm getting the information right now! Okay, I received the information."

Kill zombies-5 points for a rank 1 zombie (15 point increase for every zombie that has a higher rank)

"What are these Bonus Missions?" Feng Yuze asked.

"The Bonus Missions are not required. Only the Main and Side Missions are required." System 505 informed him.

"What if I don't complete all the Main and Side Missions?"

"Then your mission is considered a failure. Furthermore, there may be some hidden missions that will pop up randomly but they are optional." System 505 said.

"That's so much to remember! So there are the main missions and side missions which are required in order to not fail and then there are bonus missions which are optional. Furthermore, there are hidden missions that will randomly pop up but it is optional as well. Is that right?"

"Yes."

"Do I have a starter pack?" Feng Yuze questioned.

"Yes, since you are a beginner, you received 1,000 points as a gift."

"Okay, how long do I have until I have to report to Kang Fu Yan?"

"Around an hour."

"Okay."

Feng Yuze began to prepare a bath. With the help of water ability users, the entire base was equipped with running water.

After his bath, he dried his hair with his towel and put on an all back outfit which consisted of a black t-shirt, ripped black jeans and black combat boots. He put on his black leather jacket and started to style his hair.

He decided against slicking it back with gel like the original did and instead left it down.

Feng Yuze was about to open the door when suddenly System 505 said, "Host, I sense someone approaching your room. Be alert."

"Alright."

Several moments later, a knock could be heard.

Without waiting for Feng Yuze's response, a small petite woman walked in. The woman had short brown hair clipped back with a blue hair clip, revealing her smooth and fair skin.

'Is that really brother Feng? He looks so much more handsome now that he let his hair down.' Song Mei Ling thought in a slight daze.

'Isn't this the female lead, Song Mei Ling? What is she doing here?' Feng Yuze thought.

The woman's cherry red lips lifted into a huge smile and she said with a gentle voice filled with care, "Brother Feng, you've recovered!"

Feng Yuze nodded.

"I've been worried sick about you!" Song Mei Ling exclaimed as she hugged his arm.

Feng Yuze frowned. He hated any form of physical contact with women ever since 'that' incident. He pulled away from her and took a step back.

"Are you alright Brother Feng?" Song Mei Ling asked as she tried to stand on her tippy toes to feel Feng Yuze's forehead.

Feng Yuze swiftly backed away from her.

"Don't ever touch me without my permission, do you understand?" He said darkly with a murderous intent.

Song Mei Ling's heart trembled. She felt indescribable fear in her heart.

'Was Brother Feng ever this mean before?" She thought.

To Song Mei Ling, Feng Yuze is very kind even though he looks unapproachable. She couldn't believe that Feng Yuze talked to her like that.

She felt wronged and looked pitifully at Feng Yuze hoping that he will apologize for his rude behavior, however Feng Yuze just glared at her.

Facing his glare, her heart began to thump in fear. The air filled with murderous intent.

"I said, do you understand?" He said slowly with a dark tone causing her to gulp in fear. She felt her sweat fall down her forehead and she mutely nodded.

Seeing her agreement, Feng Yuze took back his killing intent.

Like a bullet, Song Mei Ling ran out of his room.

"Host...are you okay?" System 505 asked hesitantly. The System had never seen this side of Feng Yuze and it was honestly scared.

Fang Yuze sighed.

"I'm fine, don't worry."
