"Grace..." Just as Grace Gordon got up, Stanhope Brown finally reached out and grabbed her hand.
Stanhope too rose to his feet, standing beside Grace. He lowered his eyes to look at her, her delicate face showing no signs of anger, as expressionless as dead water.
"Tell me why you insist on a divorce. If your reasons are sufficient, I'll agree." Stanhope Brown said.
Hearing that, Grace felt a slight pain in her hand. She turned to look at Stanhope, contemplating her words for a long moment. What she finally uttered was this: "Because I don't want to be a shield for the Brown Family in the conflict between them and my brother! Nor do I want to be a burden holding my brother back."
Such a simple sentence...yet the most hurtful one.
Stanhope frowned: "Do you think...I would use you to threaten your brother?"
