He clapped me on the shoulder, nearly sending me sprawling off my chair, then turned back to Hyde. “So when’s the happy day?”

“We haven’t discussed that yet.” Hyde hitched up his trouser legs and sat down.

“You’d better have the reception here.”

“Actually, we’re thinking of having it at the Saratoga Trunk.” We were?“Since you and the family are invited, the last thing you’ll want to do is spend the entire time in the kitchen when you could be dancing with your lovely wife.”

“You’re right. And this will give me the perfect opportunity to scope out my competition.”

“Their sous-chef is promising. You might want to look into hiring him.”

“I just might.” He looked down at the menus, frowned, and gathered them up. “I’ll make something special, yes?”

“Thanks, Tony.”

“I have something in mind for an amuse-bouche. And a champagne to go with it.”
