“I have a great time, man.”
Pablo beamed at Keenan as the two of them stood outside the pizza place. The rest of the world felt as if it faded away into the background. He knew there were people rushing by all around him and Keenan, but he didn’t pay them any attention. All his concentration was directed at Keenan alone. It required a great deal of self-control on his part not to reach out for Keenan’s hands and grasp them tightly. Instead, he clutched onto the sides of his pants and continued to smile at Keenan.
“Me, too. I wish you had let me pay for half of the meal, though.”
Keenan chuckled. “You can get the next one.”
Pablo grinned in response. “Absolutely. How about dinner and a movie tomorrow evening at my place? Seven o’clock? Just in case either of us is stuck at work for one reason or another.”
“You’re on,” Keenan replied with a smile. “Are you sure you can leave the bar for the remainder of the evening tomorrow?”
