London 2018
Your POV
It was a warm summer night in London around 9.00 pm, and you were sitting inside your room reading a book you purchased the day before. It was about something you did not usually read about, but it was pretty decent, and you seemed to like it. "The suicide note" read the title of your book and was about a woman who was supposed to see a suicide note covered in blood left upon her bed. The handwriting is unmistakably hers, and it is dated three days before the suicide. It was not what you usually liked to read, but this specific book actually seemed rather interesting to you.
"What can I say? Maybe it's time for me to finally dare to do new things..." you whispered and turned the next page.
'September 18th,1995
"I'm sorry... I'm terribly sorry... What I did on the 15th of September had to be done for it was the only way I could finally find some peace..." read the note I was holding.
It really confused me. What was I talking about and why the hell did I commit... suicide? See, I was never the person who would do something like that... Strange...Determined to investigate the case further, I left the bloody note I wrote right by the drawer next to my bed. That's when real shit strikes.'
As you were reading, your mother was watching you from the door side of your room. She had been standing there for a couple of minutes, but you did not seem to have noticed her, and she was not intending on interrupting you. Once she saw you closing the book you were reading and putting it aside, your mother coughed gently as to draw your attention.
Your mesmerizing eyes darted on your mother instantly. You gave her a smile and went towards her to give her a squeeze.
"Hey, mom, how was your day at work? Is everything ok?" you demanded once you let her go from your embrace.
"Well, today was tough, but I have some great news! I was finally given the promotion I've wanted so badly for the last months! Baby, the quality of our lives is definitely going to get better as I'm going to earn more as a salary!" She squealed happily.
Your grin grew bigger the moment she told me the great news. Getting a higher position as a secretary and getting few extra money as a salary was a great relief as your father - a man that divorced with your mother several years ago and since then was not providing you the money he was supposed to - would stress you almost every day with what he did against you.
"Mom, this is great! I mean, wow, finally a miracle happening to us!" you stated.
Your mother chuckled but stayed silent for some time. She seemed skeptical and a frowned appeared to her perfectly shaped and dark eyebrows.
"You know what, my dear? I think that it's time for us to celebrate! I'm going to order some pizza, and you can choose the movie we can watch while eating, ok? "
"Yeah, sure! "
"Great! Well, see you in a while." your mother stated and left.
Thanks to your mother's boss, your life was about to get better.
"Thank God..." you mumbled as you pulled out your laptop and began browsing the movies on a site.
Once you found a movie that seemed to your liking, you clicked on it and waited for your mother to come with the pizza, before you pressed the play button.
Finally, both of you had a reason to celebrate.
