Chapter 79: The Great Feud (Part 13)

(3rd Person: POV)

Creating a violent tornado Ais attacked Delphyne with all she had.

Taking her blade she cut into one of its wings, causing the beast to roar out in a cry of pain.

But as quickly as the damage was done it healed.

Showcasing the beasts incredible regenerative abilities.

Not caring Ais attacked the beast again.

While this happened the Athena familia, Riveria, and Gareth looked down.

Morax making a mental note to be absolutely sure Ais never saw him using his [Dragonification] skill.

Since he is now seeing first-hand just how much a hate boner the blonde air head has for dragons.

"Ais. that's enough!" Riveria shouted.

But Ais ignored her and continued her attack on Delphyne.

"It's not use, she's got tunnel vision. Except for Delphyne she can't see or hear anything else right now." Morax said.

"I agree with you boy." Gareth added. "But we can't let this continue. Otherwise Ais is sure to die."

Everyone agreed on that.

Launching another attack against Delphyne Ais swung her blade.

But the monster dodged this time, and then used its tail to slam her into the ground.

When this happened her tornado disappeared.

Getting back up Ais prepared to attack again only for Riveria and the others to reach her vefore she did.

"Ais, stop it!" Riveria shouted.

"No." Ais replied. She then got ready to launch another attack.

*Slap*

Only to stop in her tracks when Millhiore moved up to her and slapped her without any hesitation.

Getting a surprised expression on her face Ais turned to look at Millhiore who was glaring at her.

"Stop that!" She shouted. "Or you want to die and make your friends sad?"

"I.." Ais didn't have a response.

She then looked at Gareth and Riveria and finally realized how much she was making them worry.

"Sorry." She said.

"We can talk about that stuff alter. Right now let's take this beast down together." Morax spoke.

As he did so Delphyne focused its gaze on the group and roared in their direction.

Flapping its wings it swooped down towards them.

"Ryner, Echidna!" Morax shouted.

"Right!" The two of them shouted in unison.

{What I seek is thunder, Izuchi!

[Izuchi]

{Incinerate!}

[Goa]

Fire and lighting raced toward Delphyne and collided with the beast.

But as it did so it barely slowed the monster down.

Even so it was enough for everyone to move out of its path, and avoid a direct attack.

Once this happened they regrouped.

"Damn, that thing being able to fly is annoying." William commented.

"If we want to have any chance of bringing that beast down, then we need to take out its wings." Gareth commented. "Riveria, can your magic do it?"

"It can." She said "But even so, that beast might break free in no time at all."

"Then in that case allow me to help." Echidna spoke up.

As she did so Riveria, Gareth, and Ais looked at her.

"Listen well, I ask you not reveal what you are about to see or hear to anyone but your captain and goddess." Morax told the three of them.

Seeing the serious expression on his face Riveria and Gareth swore and agreed instantly.

Because given the situation at hand they didn't see another choice.

Hearing this Morax nodded to Echidna.

Once she did so she explained about her new skills she had obtained during her last status update.

[Plagiarize]

It is a skill that allows Echidna to use any magic she sees with her own eyes.

However she can only use said magic once, and then never again.

Despite this Riveria and Gareth were stunned at the revelation of the skill.

Especially Riveria given her own magic and magical knowledge.

The two of them also instantly realized why Morax had sworn them to that oath just a moment ago.

Although Echidna's skill was restrictive, it was still insanely powerful and if it became public knowledge then familia would stop at nothing to acquire her for themselves.

Even the ones not apart of Evilus.

That's why Athena had sworn her familia to secret about Echidna's new skill, but she gave Morax permission to reveal it in certain situations.

Like the one they are in right now.

"Here's the plan. Echidna and Riveria will immobilize Delphyne with magic. Then the rest of us will attack it and destroy its magic stone. Any questions?" Morax said.

No one spoke.

"Then let's move." Morax said.

Just as he did so Delphyne came down for another aerial attack.

Taking its tail it whipped it in the direction of the group.

As it did so Leonmitchelli and Gaul rushed forward and blocked it without issue.

Both of them able to do so thanks to the new skill they acquired.

[King of Beasts]

Which drastically increases their overall power when those they love are in life threatening situations.

It is a skill that manifested out of of their desire to protect their familia with all that they have got.

Landing the siblings high-fived.

Just as Delphyne moved its head down to try and swallow Riveria whole.

Seeing this Morax rushed forward and sliced the monsters face using Vortex Vanquisher. Diluc and Rogue supporting him.

As they did this Riveria started the incantation for her magic [Wynn Fimbulvetr] with Echidna matching her, thanks to her skill.

Noticing the two of them starting to use Magic Delpyhne attempted to stop it.

Opening its mouth it shot out a plume of superheated flames in their direction.

Seeing this Morax and Diluc both began chanting.

{Tear the Earth Asunder!}

[Seismic Burst]

{Come and flow, searing fire!}

[Flowing Flames]

As the two of them finished Morax coated the tip of Vortex Vanquisher in vibrational energy and directed towards the flame attack.

Meanwhile Diluc's entire body was coated in flames as was his claymore sword. As soon as it was he moved to slice the oncoming attack, alongside Morax.

When their two attacks hit Delphyne's flame blast, they were almost blown back but were able to hold their ground and stop it.

Seeing this happen Delphyne prepared to attack again.

Only to see assaulted by light wolves and spheres of wind, courtesy of Ryuu and Ryner who were casting their magic while Delphyne was distracted.

As this happened Rogue and the de Rois siblings unleashed attack after attack on Delphyne's body. Hoping to make it split its focus between dealing with them and regenerating.

Meanwhile Millhiore and William covered them all.

Just in case any Evilus members showed up and attempted to stop them.

Finishing their simultaneous chant Echidna and Riveria unleashed the magic [Wynn Fimbulvetr].

When they did so the others moved away from Delyphne's. Whose body was instantly covered in ice.

Specifically its wings, immobilizing it.

Seeing this Gareth and Ais struck.

Rushing forward they started delivering attack after attack to Delphyne, Athena familia joining in as well.

"Rawwrr!!"

Letting loose a powerful roar Delpyhne attempted to break free from its temporary prison.

As it did so Rogue started chanting.

{Shadows heed the words of the one who commands you, come to my aid and do my bidding for I am your lord!}

[Kageomo]

Just as Rogue finished his chant multiple spikes rose up from the shadow under Delpyne and pierced the creatures body.

This is Rogue's magic.

[Kageomo]

Which allows him to manipulate shadows into various forms.

Following up Rogue's lead Morax cast [Geo Force] and created several earth spears to pierce Delphyne's body as well. Along with several giant earth hands to hold it down.

"Keep up the pressure!" Morax shouted.

As he did so Delphyne roared and unleashed another superheated fire blast from its mouth.

Right in Morax's direction.

Seeing this he moved to dodge just in time.

Just as he did so Ais launched an attack against the beast, opening up a wound along its side.

When she did its magic stone became exposed.

Sensing it was in danger Delhpyne found a new reserve of strength.

Ignoring all its wounds the beast freed it, by pulling its wings with all its might.

It then attempted to take to the air, but before it could Gareth grabbed its tail and held it down.

"Attack, don't let up!" Morax shouted.

Just after he did so he rushed forward, gripping Vortex Vanquisher tightly.

Seeing the magic stone and seeing the wound on Delyphne closing where it was exposed, Morax knew what he needed to do.

Gripping his spear he threw it in the direction of the beasts magic stone with all his might.

His aim being true, and his weapon striking it.

Even so it didn't break it.

"Dammit!" Morax shouted.

But just after he did so Ais jumped in.

Seeing the opportunity Morax made she didn't hesitate and rushed forward.

She then used her sword to push Vortex Vanquisher deeper into Delhpyne's magic stone, destroying it.

Once this happened the beast roared and fell to the ground, creating a massive shockwave that none could avoid.

Being thrown across the ground Morax quickly picked himself up and ignored his injuries.

He then watched as the monster in front of him died, and his weapon fell to the ground.

Moving to retrieve it he then looked around for his allies, finding them all alive.

Smiles on their faces.

For they had done it.

They had defeated the Nightmare and saved Babel.
