216. Before The Summer Holiday

Arriving at the house, the one who greeted them was Mafuyu who had helped Iori at the cake shop since morning. She looked at Izumi with sharp eyes while glancing at Rori, Tabane, and Karin.

Before Mafuyu could speak, Tabane had already preceded what she wanted to say.

"Izumi-chan, is she your wife? Did she just catch you cheating?"

"Wha..." Mafuyu was dumbfounded. To think that someone else thought that she was Izumi's wife.

Meanwhile, Izumi grabbed Tabane's head.

"I'm still in high school, how can I have a wife!"

"Ouch ouch ouch... It's hurt, Izumi-chan. I'm joking, I'm joking!"

Izumi turned to Mafuyu and apologized.

"Sorry, there's a little bit of a problem in her head. So, don't mind her!"

Tabane pointed at Izumi with a complaint.

"What do you mean? I'm the most genius person in the world. How can I have a problem in my head."

Izumi ignored what Tabane had been blabbering about. When he was about to walk inside, Mafuyu asked.

"Who are they?"

Mafuyu already knows that Rori is Iori's illegitimate child, even though it's just a fabrication. And what made Mafuyu curious was a purple-haired woman who was almost the same age as Mafuyu, as well as a girl whose red hair was too conspicuous.

Izumi pointed at Tabane.

"She is my working partner. I needed her help, so I brought her. She called Tabane." After a short moment, Izumi pointed at Karin. "She is Karin, Tabane's assistant."

And Izumi explained what work he was doing. Since Izumi was talking about his work, Mafuyu stopped asking. Not many youths of Izumi's age want to do a side job. When she heard Izumi say that, she felt that Izumi was able to live independently. She knew that Izumi often spent time in his room creating a program that she didn't even understand. That made Mafuyu believe when Izumi talked about his work. Though, she still reminded him not to do anything strange.

Izumi led Tabane and Karin to an empty room as they intended to stay the night. He intended to make both of them sleep in the same room. He would also make sure that the two of them didn't sneak into Izumi's room later on. Otherwise, he might not be able to hold back.

"Oh right, Tabane-chan. The IS has something like a storage device, right? Can you make something like a capsule house with that technology?"

"Capsule house?" Suddenly, Tabane lit her eyes brightly. She added. "Why didn't I think of that idea before? Izumi-chan, sometimes you're so smart."

"I've always been smart. You're the one who's always been dumb."

Tabane got closer and said.

"Are you challenging me? Then let's make a bet! Who can make the capsule house first? Me or you?"

She challenged Izumi while grinning. But Izumi didn't want to eat Tabane's bait, so he answered.

"Alright alright, you're the smartest. Anyway, can you make one? Should we borrow the capsule house from gramp Warrod?"

Tabane clicked her tongue.

"Tsk."

"Did you just click your tongue?"

"I didn't."

"Don't lie!"

Even though Izumi forced Tabane to confess, she still acted indifferently.

"Anyway, just wait 1 or 2 weeks, I'll finish making it."

"Hey, don't change the topic!"

"What are you talking about?"

Tabane asked while giving a sweet smile. Feeling useless talking to Tabane, Izumi did not continue and changed the topic.

"Because you want to make that thing. Can you tell me how to make a holographic computer?"

"With pleasure."

Tabane looked so happy when he asked her to tell him how to make a hologram computer.

The way Tabane always tried to get closer to him, it would be stupid if he didn't realize how Tabane was feeling. However, he apologized in his heart that now was not the time to discuss such things.

Without realizing it, 2 days have passed.

As Izumi had promised before, Izumi kept his promise by taking first in the test scores for all first-year classes. His name is displayed with the highest test scores among the other first-year students. Even so, there was someone who reported that Izumi had cheated on the exam which got him called by the teacher.

Izumi clenched his fist. He's not a man with much free time, let alone just to make it clear that he's not cheating. That's why he got quite irritated when someone slandered him.

*bang* *crack*

He slammed his fist against his desk in the classroom and shouted.

"WHO THE FUCK TOLD THE TEACHER THAT I CHEATED ON THE EXAM!!?? COME OUT AND SHOW YOUR HIDEOUS FACE!!"

Since Izumi does have a delinquent-like appearance, it doesn't matter for him to act like one. He'd rather behave like that than act like a geeky, studious student now.

Hiroyuki, Tōru, and Shou knew that Izumi wouldn't cheat because they had been taught by him. They already knew that Izumi was smart even though he never showed it. They approached Izumi and calmed his anger.

Izumi already knew who the culprit was, his eyes fell on a student who had light blue hair.

"I've never caused any trouble with you, this time I'll pretend not to know. But if something like this happens again. You'll know the consequences!"

All the students in the class didn't know who he was referring to, they even looked left and right to find out because they were curious.

Then, Izumi left the class, and the atmosphere in the class became a bit calmer. This was the first time they saw Izumi angry and to the point of cracking his desk.

It didn't take long for Izumi to silence some teachers, who also thought that Izumi had cheated on the exam because his grades were normal from the start of high school.

He answered all the difficult questions given by the teachers in no time. At first, they wanted to give 30 questions, but when Izumi answered 5 questions instantly, they stopped. None of the answers were wrong at all, so they assumed that Izumi didn't cheat during the exam, different from what was reported.

When Izumi returns to class, a student in his class is called by the teacher for giving a false report.

The next day was the closing ceremony before the summer holiday began. Tōru asked Izumi.

"What are you going to do in the summer holiday?"

"The soccer club is holding a training camp. Although I don't really want to go. I was also invited by members of the literature club for a vacation together."

"I'll bet that all you wanted was to go to the beach for bikinis, right?"

"What the hell! Do you have supernatural power? You can even read my mind!"

Izumi answered monotonously. Well even if he's joking, who wouldn't want to see girls in bikinis on the beach?

"Pffft. How about we go to the beach after you're done with your training camp?"

Izumi would love to be invited to go to the beach, but he wasn't sure if he had any free time. He already had a plan before the summer holiday.

"Oh, so you have other plans, huh?"

"Sorry. I'll try to make time. Then, I'll call you later."

"There's no need to force it. If you can't, it's fine. We can go next time and take Hiroyuki and Shou together."

Izumi agreed with what Tōru said. He needed to plan again if he wanted to spend time with his friends. August 14 and 15 are the days for Comiket in Kuroneko's world, he really wanted to go there. Izumi only hoped that the training camp wouldn't last long, otherwise he would be forced to flee from the training camp.

After a short moment, Hiroyuki and Shou approached Izumi. They talked about tomorrow's training camp in which all students are required to come at 6 AM in front of the school. Hiroyuki wondered if they would get a friendly match against another football club.

After the closing ceremony was over, the students were allowed to go home and the summer holiday started.

Izumi walked while putting his hands in his pockets. He saw Kyouko walking home alone. He also thought, maybe it would be better if he had a good talk with her. With that in mind, Izumi chased after Kyouko by increasing his pace.

He felt bad that Kyouko was always avoiding him, and that made him a little awkward in class.
