His mother received the news, the school also got the news, and the worst part, the church saw the news. 

Even though he had ended up in the hospital, his mother hadn't bothered about his health. When she met him there, the first thing she did was slap him hard and burst into tears. When her screams got too loud, she was escorted out by the nurses, but that didn't stop it because she continued at home after he was discharged and had locked his little sister in her bedroom when she cried and pleaded on his behalf, even though she had no idea what was going on. 

It was the first time his mother called him all sorts of names he wouldn't have believed that his religious mother knew, more so, directed them at him. She also didn't mind hitting him and calling him an abomination. He had ruined her reputation in the church, at work, and everywhere else.
