The School Massacre 1

The next day after the incident, Tojima was absent, as of course he was still in the hospital.

But one thing went according to how Toshi had predicted. People started treating Raiden differently. It was the cold stares at first which turned into weird rumors about Raiden real quick. Those rumors spread like wildfire.

"Look at that, he is a very dangerous person."

"Is he that guy who hospitalized someone?"

"I heard that poor guy lost a lot of blood because of him."

"His face looks like a criminal too."

Rumors usually don't have any limits when they start to spread. But Raiden couldn't give a shit about any of them. He just went to live his life as if nothing happened.

He entered his classroom and he got those same cold stares there too. His eyes crossed Shogo's eyes who sat on the backside. They both shared cold stares.

He got to his seat and sat. He found Toshi sitting behind his seat. "Yo. There really are some cold stares around today."

"I told you it will be like this."

"Yeah."

Raiden looked over to Hatsuhi and glared at her for some minutes but she completely ignored him. Raiden felt isolated again. The only thing he looked forward to was Hatsuhi's smile but now it felt gone too.

"Toshi, do you mind doing a thing for me?" Raiden said.

"What is it?"

"Give this message to Hatsuhi."

"Hmm."

Raiden got out of the classroom during recess.

'I wanna clear things up with Hatsuhi so I called her to the roof. I hope she comes or else I wouldn't be able to talk to her at all like this.'

Raiden was passing by the corridor to make his way up to the roof. By the stairs to the roof, stood Shogo, folding his hands, waiting for Raiden.

"I saw Hatsuhi go out of her way to go to the roof. Pretty unusual, right? She never goes alone like that. And here, you came too, making your way towards the roof. Wanna talk to Hatsuhi when no one's there?"

"Shogo, it's none of your business. I can go wherever I want."

"Yeah, sure, go to hell, I don't care. But not after Hatsuhi."

Raiden got angry and tried to get past Shogo but he blocked the stairs, not letting Raiden go to the roof.

"You wanna start the fight here?" Raiden said in anger.

"You couldn't even win last time, why do you think you will win this time?"

Raiden grabbed Shogo by his collar and said, "You just won that one time but it won't happen again. The next time we fight… the next time, I will beat the total crap out of you!"

"Back off," Shogo pushed Raiden away from him. "You just talk big Raiden but you can't beat me at all. And, there won't be no second time because you have already lost. Your remaining school life is doomed. Everyone in school knows what you did and so does Hatsuhi. No matter how much you try and talk to her it won't change how she sees you now. It is over for you, Raiden. it is over."

Raiden was full of resolve. He wasn't going to give up until the very end. It was a fight he couldn't afford to lose at all.

"You say it is over? But I won't let things go this way! It will change no matter what happens. I will do anything to make it happen. Because I have finally found something in my life I can look forward to. And, I won't lose it!"

Suddenly a loud scream came out of the school which started both Raiden and Shigo.

"What was that?" Shogo inquired.

They both looked outside the window in that corridor and saw a disturbance at the school's main entrance door. The scene was out of their understanding. Someone people from outside were attacking the students.

"What the hell is going on down there?" Raiden asked.

A guy came running in the corridor towards Shogo and said, "Oi Shogo, you should check out what the hell is going on down there. It's getting crazy!"

"Wait, what's exactly going on? Who is attacking those people?" Shogo asked the guy.

"I don't know. Just come with me and see it for yourself."

Shogo agreed and they both left to go down.

Raiden stood alone in the corridor of the fifth floor, above him was the roof. He was confused about the sudden change in events. 'The heck is going on down there?' was his main question.

'Never mind whatever is going down there. I should go to the roof and meet Hatsuhi. She has been waiting there for quite long.'

Raiden climbed the stairs and went to the roof. But it was empty. No one was there.

'Did she leave? She must have left from the other exit. Oof. There goes my prime chance to talk to her.'

The screams from before were still going on. And, it was not just the school's entrance. Now it felt that the screams came from all around the school.

'And, what the hell is going down there?' Raiden looked over from the railing of the roof to get a better view of the whole situation.

It was horrible, what he saw.

'What the hell?'

Not only was their school getting attacked but people from outside were eating the students and teachers. People were running for their life. Blood was spread everywhere. Students were crying, running, hiding, some tried to fight back but died. It was a slaughter. A homicide.

Raiden couldn't grasp what was going on down there. Seeing all those deaths, his mind went numb. He couldn't move a single step from that position. He feared whatever was going down there. He was in fear.

'Hatsuhi.'

He moved. He went down from the roof.

'Is Hatsuhi okay?' He couldn't think of anything but that.

He saw people running aimlessly on the fifth floor. Each of them running, had a look of terror on their face. People were running, trying to get away from whatever was happening down there.

Raiden tried to stop anyone and ask them what was going on but no one stopped. It was a total disaster. People were going crazy.

Raiden couldn't think of what to do. Where to go? He stood in all that fuss in a state of confusion.

But before long he moved and grabbed someone's arm who was running, making that person come to a stop.

It was Toshi.

"Toshi! What the hell is going here?"

"I don't know. Everything was going fine and in an instant people started dying."

"What caused it? Who are those people? They are eating us. Cannibals?"

"I don't know if it's a group of some cannibals. But it's definitely not normal. Even for the cannibals, they are more than crazy."

"Shit! How did things turn out this way."

"No point in us discussing this here. Come with me."

"Okay."

Raiden followed Toshi and they came in front of an old-looking room.

"The Dojo club? What are we doing here?" Raiden asked.

"Didn't I tell you those people are crazy? We would at least need something to protect ourselves."

Toshi went inside and picked up two wooden swords. He passed one to Raiden.

"Let's go, Raiden. We are getting out of this school."
