Chapter 18: Last One Standing
Behind Baal, a purple light began blossoming before.
*Shwoom*
A Dragon pulse got discharged from behind him. Baal immediately twisted his body as he jumped up off the ocean floor and darted upwards before repositioning himself towards the Dragalge. Baal covered his mouth in blue light before tensing his throat and sucking in his stomach.
'Fishious Rend'
'Noxious Acid'
Boom!
He blasted down towards the dragalge as it scurried to get out of his trajectory. The Dragalge understood it ought to retaliate with a move of its own unless it wanted to sign its own death certificate.
A purple light began collecting in the Dragalge's mouth as it released a sludge bomb towards Baal. Abruptly, Baal opened his mouth slightly, he had swallowed the sludge bomb!
Something interesting was going on inside his maw, the Sludge Bomb was mixing together with Baal's Noxious Acid, this was due to the effect of one of his more recent Abilities.
[Acidic Excretion: If any Poison-type move is used by a poison-type pokemon, this move can either assimilate or negate the move by consuming it.]
The Sludge began mixing with his noxious acid forming a tri-fused Move, even though it was only temporary.
(A/N: There are technically three moves within the substance in his maw now so its tri-fused)
Baal fired off his toxic move!
Boom!
A deadly acid sizzled across the ocean floor as it disintegrated the rock under the Dragalge's feet.
Chomp!
Baal had successfully clamped his jaws down onto the Dragalge's arm before tearing it off and consuming it. He gave a mocking glance towards the Dragalge and at this point, the dragalge was on its last legs.
In the next moment though, Dragalge opened its mouth and raised its tongue showing the presence of a small, clear, gem-like bead with a flame-like brilliance inside of this clear bead. In the next moment, A dazzling flash enveloped the Dragalge.
"Fuck! I thought you needed a Keystone to evolve so how come this Dragalge is doing it now?" Baal growled.
[The rules of this world are different. As long as something is Manipulation-inclined, it can access the power inside of a mega stone. To be able to access the power inside of the mega stone is the role of a Key Stone in the main series, however, it can be supplemented by a high degree of skill in manipulating aura it would seem.]
Baal nodded before understanding it would be a longer fight than he would expect. He finally asked the system if he could use up some of his points to maximise his mastery over his remaining moves and gain a few more.
A few seconds later, the light shell cracked and the dragalge had gained a new form, it had elongated and become a more serpent-like entity yet it still retained its camouflage-like colouring. It then glanced at Baal and was shocked to see him fully encased in an armour of white lightning, the most deadly form of lightning there is. Under the lightning armour, a purple plating shone and if someone looked even more carefully they could see a blue tint under that.
Baal glanced at his masteries one more time and checked the new moves that he bought then fused,

As soon as he did glance at his masteries, he smiled widely as he then glanced up to see the Dragalge which had mega evolved looking at him tensely. It could feel the energy radiating off of him like a brilliant cascade of colours. Some would even describe the energies reflecting off of Baal as more beautiful than the greatest works of the great artists.
Baal suddenly disappeared from its field of vision, causing it to think that it was hallucinating. He then reappeared behind its body, standing on his hind legs before grabbing it from its neck and tail from behind.
*Snap*
The Mega Dragalge's body was lifted above Baal's head and yet the dragalge managed to bite his shoulder and tear some flesh off, the last one bite that it would ever take.
Then Baal swiftly lifted his knee and snapped the Dragalge in half as its body made contact with his knee.
'It seems that it can't even handle having its back broken and just got torn in half anyway,' He thought with a smug expression on his face. This was the feeling of taking on the entire world.
....
I removed the mega stone from its mouth and asked the system to produce an item description.
[Poison-type Mega Stone: An item to be held by a pokemon with a high affinity to the poison element allowing them to mega evolve into a form with a poison type substituting one of its already set types.]
"Wait, so you're saying that mega stones are type-based and not species-based?" I asked confusedly. This was majorly different from my current knowledge and that meant the overlord could effectively be any typing in its mega form.
[The host should not worry, every species has an inborn level of affinity to the elements. Even the host's species has a set affinity. Even then, the affinity to that element has to be high enough to use that type of mega stone.]
"Hmm..give me an example"
[For example, the host's species has only 4 affinities that are high enough to mega evolve into those types. The water, dragon, poison and dark type. For the water and dragon type mega stones, your typing would not change. However, with the latter two, one of your types would change to either poison or dark depending on the mega stone you use.]
Hmm okay, I get it now. That means I can use this poison type mega stone and I could either become a Poison/Dragon-type or a Water/Poison type. I grabbed the stone out of the dead body of the Dragalge before eyeing the bright shine of the gem with a newfound interest.
I glanced at the dead body of the Dragalge with a sigh, it's unfortunate but this is how the law of the jungle works. The winner takes it all, oh well, at least you're contributing to a greater cause...My points.
I lifted my hand and absorbed the dragalge's body before eradicating the rest of the kelp forest then I laid down to rest. After all, this battle was very physically taxing and I had a gaping hole in my shoulder that needed to regenerate before I could try anything so I decided to glance over all of my information pages. In the system, I delegated some of the stat points before using all of my PP to increase my levels,

Waterproof(When Aqua Armour is active) - Water Attacks do 45% less damage.
Greek Fire( When Dragon Armour is active) - Gives full immunity to Special Water attacks. Water restores HP and Fire-type moves increase depending on the move used against it.
