Six Months Later
Gromer's Charhouse, Elgin, August 2038
"Cy, you ordered mangosteen champagne, what's the occasion?" asked Katya with a coy expression on her face.
He looked into her sparkling brown eyes. "It's our two-month anniversary today. Just look how pretty you are tonight."
Cyrus saw her blush slightly as she watched the waiter pour the bubbly pink French liquid into her fluted glass.
"You are so romantic, in a little boy sort of way. I love it."
They raised their glasses, clinked them, and wished each other a happy anniversary.
"Wow, that's good," said Katya as she placed her glass back on the table. "Do you know this month marks another anniversary for us? It was our first date, right here at Gromer's at this very table. That was two years ago, can you believe it?"
"Wow, I feel like it was yesterday, yet it also feels as if I've known you forever. Now you're my wife. Are you happy, hearts?"
