Chapter 065

"Three Pokemon eggs, two pieces of Never Melt Ice, and ten odd water stones. Not a bad haul!" said Professor Oak.

"Professor, which Pokemon does this egg belong to?" asked Alex.

"All three are Lapras eggs" said Professor Oak.

"Lapras huh?" thought Alex happily. The Ice and Water type Lapras would be a good addition to his team.

"Well, that was a surprise, but we better get going. I still have some more research to do" said Professor.

Alex nodded, and quickly packed his things.

Alakazam then teleported both of them back to Pallet Town.

"Professor, I heard some additional information about the Frog King" said Alex and he proceeded to tell Professor Oak about the Dragonite war, the strange black and brown Pokemon with wings, Royal Heirs, and the necklace.

"I see" said Professor Oak. "All that could very well be a story. But I will still try to see what I can find about it. I will also have Alakazam put these eggs in the incubation room and the items in storage. You can then decide what to do with them." said Professor Oak, and then he went to the lab.

Alex decided to go home and have some sleep. He missed his bed after spending the last 10 days camping in the wilderness.

As he went into his house, he heard a cry and a silver figure shot towards him and started nuzzling his chest.

"Hey Beldum, did you miss me?" asked Alex.

"Beell Duuum" it cried. Alex related Charmander so that it could greet Beldum too.

"Soon we will have another partner," said Alex. "I don't think he will comfortably fit in the house though. I will ask the Professor if I could have a pool made in the back of the house to keep Lapras after it hatches" he thought.

Then, with Charmander curled up behind him and Beldum hanging from the ceiling, Alex fell asleep.

The next morning, Alex visited Professor Oak early in the morning.

"Professor, I would like to contribute two of the three Lapras eggs I found to Oak Corall" said Alex.

He had made this decision after putting in a lot of thought. First of all, for the foreseeable future, he would stay at the Oak Corall. It was important for him to have some contribution here. Also, he was given a Shiny Charmander, all its top grade food recipes and the needed ingredients and free access to the data storage section. And he would inevitably need the same for his newly hatched Lapras.

Lapras were very rare Pokemon, to the extent that there were only 10 odd Lapras registered by a trainer. Professor Oak would appreciate the 2 Lapras to study.

Also, Alex had to be in Professor Oak's good books to prevent him from giving away his Shiny Beldum.

"Alright then. What about the Never Melt Ice and the Water Stones?" asked the Professor.

"I will keep one Never Melt Ice for my Lapras, and contribute the other. As for the Water Stones, all except one are of low grade. I think I will sell it off for cash" said Alex.

Professor Oak nodded and said, "I will have a Charcoal delivered to you in exchange for the Never Melt Ice. As for the Water Stone, you can see it to the Corall for 1.2 million Poke. We will resell it elsewhere."

"As for the Lapras, it will take 2 more months to hatch. Thankfully, I have a previously purchased top grade recipe for Lapras's Pokemon Food in storage. You can take a look from the database" he concluded.

"I will now join the others in feeding the Pokemon in the ranch. Good luck with your research Professor" said Alex.

Alex spent the rest of the morning as usual, delivering Pokemon food, secretly feeding them berries, challenging the Novice Pokemon in the ranch with his now level 13 Charmander, and delivering Pokemon to trainers who requested for them.

"Freeeee" cried the Buterfree, as it was directly hit with Dragon Breath. It flew drastically after being paralyzed.

"Now, Charmander, finish it off! Use Ember!" yelled Alex.

"Chaar" it cried as it attacked with Ember.

Buterfree was hit with the super effective fire type move, and fainted.

"Good job Charmander!" said Alex.

He healed the level 19 Buterfree and fed it with some high grade Pokemon food as he had promised.

"Well buddy, you fought well, both in the forests before and in the ranch now. Lapras still needs a long time to come. Maybe we should capture another Pokemon" said Alex, while stroking Charmander's head.

His Pokedex beeped. Alex checked to see a message from the Professor to meet him in his office.

Alex returned Charmander, bade farewell to Buterfree, and walked towards the office.

"A shocking development has occurred near Cerulean City" said Professor Oak. "Someone spotted a Zapdos"
