I saw the Captain of the troop who was injured badly, pointing an arrow towards me. My eyes widened but I didn't react in any way, so that others wouldn't panic.
The Captain shot the arrow at me as I exerted the leftover mana in my body, even though I was on the verge of collapsing. The arrow was making its way towards me at full speed as I gathered all my mana, ready to block the attack. But before anything could happen I heard someone's loud voice.
"Watch Out!!"
And a figure pushed me, causing me to fall on the ground. I jolted my head up and saw Knox getting hit by the arrow.
"NOOO!!!!" I shouted as I got up and ran towards him, catching him before he fell to the ground.
The arrow didn't hit any vital body part but it did wounded his right forearm. But that wasn't the issue. What the issue was...that the arrowhead was poisoned.
My blood boiled and I shot an attack on that Captain as he collapsed on the ground, confirming the fact that now he can not open his mouth to anyone revealing my true identity.
My vision started to get blurry since I used a little of my remaining mana to attack that guy and I'll soon collapse since I'm about to use it all.
My attention then reverted to Knox who was about to lose his consciousness. Mom, Dad and Grandpa Flyn came running towards us as I was evolving my remaining mana.
"Oh no, It's poisoned!" Grandpa exclaimed as Mommy came close to look at his wound.
"We have to get rid of the poison before it spreads out." Mom said. She looked towards me with a concerned expression as I was covered in cold sweat.
"Why aren't you doing anything?!" Grandpa exclaimed as Mom looked towards him and gestured to him to look towards me as he did.
Soon all the mana I had left was evolved as I exerted it on Knox's body. My body reacted in the same way as it did when I healed Aunt Rosaline, my eyes became golden and started to glow as my hair started to float.
Miss Granny told me that whenever I will use an excessive amount of mana, my body will react in such a way. She also taught me how to use magic either it's attack or healing, in the absence of my celestial spirits, which is what I'm currently doing.
All knights were in a dilemma by the scene they were witnessing. They didn't know about me being the Divine Healer since Dad kept it a secret and only a few chosen people knew about it. One thing is for sure that they're going to have a very long training session with Dad.
Since I didn't contain much mana in my body, I couldn't heal him properly. All I could do was to remove the poison from his body and reduce the pain.
After relieving the pain and extracting the poison, Knox's unconscious body calmed down as if he was just in a deep sleep whereas I started to lose my vision and my body had given up all the energy left.
I didn't have energy to even hold up my body but since I didn't want my parents to worry I tried my level best to put up a cheerful smile in which I know I failed miserably. At the moment I just want to close my eyes and lay down, it doesn't matter where.
Dad held Knox's unconscious body up whereas Mom supported me while I tried to stand up and stumbled one time.
"Sabi, baby, are you okay?" Mommy asked with concern as I passed a weak smile and nodded.
Everyone got on their horses. Dad plopped Knox on Grandpa Flyn's horse and walked back to his horse, unbothered, like he just didn't throw him on the horse like a sack of potatoes.
Mom took Knox's horse and with the help of Daddy I sat in front of her. Dad hopped on his horse and we were about to set off when Mommy suddenly spoke,
"I am forgetting something?", as everybody looked towards her.
Meanwhile on the other side, Shane was patiently sitting on the branch of a huge tree waiting for his family's arrival.
"Hello? Mommy? Anybody?"
<><><><><><>
My eyes fluttered open as I sat on the bed while stretching my arms.
I lost my consciousness mid-way back home and yeah, Mom remembered what she was forgetting and Dad mocked Mommy for her dialogue earlier which was, 'I'm not a irresponsible mother', Making her irritated since she couldn't deny the fact that she forgot her biological four-year-old son on the branch of a humongous tree.
That was the last thing I heard before losing my consciousness.
"Phew...That was a really good sleep. It felt like I was out for a week" I said with eyes half-closed.
"You were out for a week so obviously it'll feel like it" I heard Augustus's voice as my eyes widened.
"What?! I was really out for a week?" I asked, looking at both the floating spirits as they nodded in unison.
"Oh My God, then everybody must be-"
"Don't worry, they are stable now. They panicked first and called the Pope when the physician wasn't able to tell your condition. But they calmed down after the Pope described your condition that you overused your mana and there was not a single bit of mana left in your body which was the reason you collapsed and you needed at least ten to twelve days to recover your mana and after your full mana recovers, you will regain your consciousness but but look at you, up in a week. As expected of you" Celimine said as I nodded my head understanding the situation.
"But if the Pope knows my real identity then wouldn't it become an issue? Since he belongs to the church and they also have some divinity too, like to guess my identity." I asked.
"Nope. They are not in the power to recognize a hidden Agnola, although they can confirm your divinity but that is a whole long different procedure, they can not just tell by having a slight bit of contact with you. The only people who can tell your identity just by your presence are mages and Saints. As for the Pope? Your father tricked him into thinking that you are a mage from the South sent by the Emperor, to which he couldn't ask any further questions. He didn't know you were his daughter" Augustus explained as I made an O-shaped face.
*Bang*
The door flew open catching me off guard. It was Fannie and...Miss Granny?
"Milady!!!! You woke up!!" Fannie exclaimed as she ran to me and engulfed me in a hug.
"Oh! I'm sorry. Forgive my rudeness" She said after releasing me immediately as I shook my head with a smile indicating that it's not an issue.
"I was just bringing this guest to visit you as she requested just to see your face but when we were outside your door, I heard your voice which made me excited." she explained as I smiled at her.
"The Pope said that you'll take more than ten days to wake up but you have regained your consciousness in just a week! Oh, Silly me! I should inform Sire and the Lady! I'll be back!" and with that Fannie dashed out of the room as always without giving me any chance to speak.
"Ameliaaaa!!!!!" Celimine exclaimed as she swirled around her making Miss Granny giggle.
"Hello, Celimine." Miss Granny greeted her. As for Augustus, he just scoffed, ignoring her whole presence, same went for Miss Granny.
"You finally decide to show up? Miss 'Amelia'." I said in a little mocking way as she laughed.
"Why? Are you sad that you couldn't see me for a month?" Miss Granny said while sitting on the bed beside me as I just scoffed at her statement.
"Yeah right. But may I know how do I have your royal presence in my poor cottage?" I mocked as she chuckled.
"I'm here to see my little sweet Agnola who seems to be not that really pleased to have my presence" She said as I just silently glared at her. "Okay okay, I'm sorry. An urgent business came up so I had to go" She explained.
"For a month?!" I exclaimed as she stayed silent.
"Like everybody whom I needed the most at that time were out of town, for example you, who was missing for a month. Brother Ryan, who went to the South to visit his sick younger brother. Uncle Syle, who went God knows where, right the day before the incident. I mean, why do all the important people have to disappear right on the important events?" I complained.
"All three of them returned just yesterday." Celimine added, making me more irritated.
"Look. Now all of you are back when the danger has averted. Did you three plan all this?" I asked as she just sighed and shook her head.
"Calm down little one" Miss Granny said with a smile as I crossed my hand over my chest.
"Why talk about something that's over? The past is past, the present is now. What we should focus on is not yesterday or tomorrow, it's today. And now that the storm has subsided so why hang on to it? Let's forget about it. Let go of the awful memories and embrace the happy ones forever in your vision. That's the key to a happy life" She said as I blankly stared at her.
The room filled with an unusual silence as me, Augustus and Celimine were just staring at Miss Granny.
"...."
"Okay okay, these are your words! There! I gave you the credit. Now will you all stop staring at me?" Miss Granny exclaimed.
"That's right. I was wondering the whole time why are you repeating the words I said three months ago when you were dejected on Isabelle's death anniversary" I said.
"Well I was just reminding you. You seemed to be quite upset by our absence so..." She said, averting her eyes.
"If someone is upset with someone that means they are important to them. If not, then they really don't care about that someone or something." I said as she went silent.
"Anyway, you're right. Why cry over something that has already happened and is over now." I said as she sighed in relief.
"Well...Augustus? Don't you think you should greet her?" I teased him, absolutely aware of the fact that he gets really irritated just by her presence. Miss Granny also made a disgusted face.
"I'll never greet this old fox!"
"I don't want a greeting from this rude brat!"
Both of them exclaimed as Celi and I started laughing.
*Bang*
"SABI!!!!"
The door flew open revealing the whole neighborhood, meaning my family, Anne's family, some maids and Sir Ryan. All of them came running in as my room filled up.
'Is this a fish market?' I thought looking at them as they all bombarded me with questions.
"Are you okay?" "Do you feel okay?" "Is your head hurting?" "As expected of my daughter. Woke up in just a week!" " How many fingers do you see?" "Can you see me?"
'Oh God, save me!!!!!!'
