Gold!!! Pt. 2

Narrator POV

As the arrow tears through the air, time slows down, so that way the Sponsor can see what happened, in detail. Violet looking at the arrow flying, quickly finding out where it was going, but powerless to stop it.

Sasha back still pressed to the back of the trench waiting for her opportunity.

Lantla just peeking above the trench, not able to see the arrow since her favorite human, Cao Tai (Just giving an insight about how she thinks) was in the way.

As the arrow pierces Cao Tai, Violet turns her head, hoping that this was only an illusion... or something!

Before there was a heavy thump of when Cao Tai hit the ground, like a bag of potato's, fortunately he was only unconscious, but the Sponsor closes the footage, there was no more point in viewing it anymore, he already knew what happens next, total devastation.

After all, he did choose the most clingy dragon he could find that wouldn't infringe on his goals for this person.

Cao Tai POV

For once I didn't train in my dreams, it felt surreal, I'm not sure whether or not I enjoyed it however.

Also I don't really know how I got knocked out, it was only a shot to the calf, I mean what could it do? 'Hey system, why was I knocked out?'

<The arrow was poisoned with a sleeping agent, due to your poor immunity to these agents, you passed out>

Interesting...

I open my eyes suddenly and look around, making sure that I wasn't still on the battlefield, around me there were tree stumps, where there once trees, the trees themselves laying roughly 5 feet away from their stumps, according to my eyes.

Sasha was still dragging the corpses of the former thieves into the forest, moving my head a little more, I see Lantla inspecting my wound, and Violet I assume was in a hole nearby, digging a mass grave, probably. Or she was mining some gold, which I doubt.

"Hello, Lantla, how is the leg looking?" I ask, Lantla looks up and leaps at me, pulling me into a hug, "Oh Cao Tai~ I thought you were dying!!!" She yells, attracting the attention of Violet, I guess that Sasha was too busy grumbling to hear Lantla's statement.

Lantla lays next to me, like she was about to sleep before turning her body in my general direction before whispering, just loud enough for Lantla to hear, "Did you know that Lantla wanted to put medicinal leeches to help you out?"

I slowly turn my head to Lantla, "Why? Thats a TERRIBLE idea!" I practically yell, and make a stern expression, since if I don't, I think I would laugh until I was crying.

"Really?" I ask, not really believing what Violet said, Lantla sadly nods her head and lays on the opposite side of me, imitating Violets position.

I shake my head, feigning disappointment, "I guess we need to teach you proper medicine, Lantla," I say.

Wow, Systems really out to get me, not that it matters, I can't! She isn't bound to me in any way!

However, it may be a good idea if she wants to hang around permanently, I should probably do it...

"Oh yeah! By the way Master, we have roughly 3,500 Gold Coins!" Violet says ecstatically, you would even consider her to be greedy if she was rubbing her hands. Actually, if I remember my stories right, they ARE greedy! So why doesn't she look more greedy.

"Hey Violet, why aren't you more greedy?" I ask, Lantla snorts like shes trying to not laugh at Violet, maybe she is?

"Careful what you say, Lantla," Violet sits up, towering over Lantla, glaring dangerously.

Lantla lays back and basks in the sunlight, "I have my flaws, you have yours... like how I think medicinal leeches are a good idea" She says, closing her eyes, waiting for Sasha to finish.

Once Sasha found out I was awake she literally told me everything that Violet said, I decided to let her run her mouth while we searched for a blacksmith, and probably make his day. As we entered the town we just followed the clangs, and we found the blacksmiths forge, which wasn't really a forge.

The 'forge' was a stone building, which was a requirement since they were playing with fire. But aside from a large blast furnace and an anvil, it didn't really seem like one.

And most peculiar of all was, the smith was a female?! I may just be stereotypical but they tend to not be a female. I walk in front of her and call, "HEY! I NEED YOU TO DO A JOB FOR ME!" I yell, trying to be louder than the hammer on anvil.

She thankfully stops and yells, "What!?" I guess the noise made her disoriented, I offer her a pouch and ask her to melt them, she shakes her head saying, "No can do, we don't make counterfeits" I snort, of course they do, "I'm willing to give you 2 Gold Coins, if you melt all of my coins, but before I hand you the materials, I need you to take an-" She interrupts me by saying, "I vow on my life. Now let me go to the back to get the molds~" Her hands already feeling the cold gold in her hands.

I hand her the packet and tell her, "I expect for all 3,500 Gold coins to be made by tomorrow, see you tomorrow, have fun," I say turning around, hearing the thunk when she processes what I've said, but I was already too far for her to complain, and she also vowed on her life, so nothing she can do, aside from stealing 2 Gold coins.
