Chapter 29

I wait by the boys bedside until he wakes up. He must either be a freshmen or from another school because I don't even recognize him.

He springs up to a sitting position.

"Where am I?" He asked frightened

"Hunters hollow hospital." I say

I prepared myself for a bunch of questions

"Why?" He asked

"Because you walked in and you where covered in blood." I say

"Now it's my turn to ask a question, what's your name?" I ask

"I'm Myles Amett." He said

"Thank you." I say

"Who are you?" He asked

"I'm Adena Parker." I say

"That's a cute name." He says

"Thank you." I smile

"Do you have any family members you'd like to contact?" I ask

"Just my girlfriend." He says

"Name?" I ask

"Rylynn Loyal." He says

"Do you know her number?" I ask

"Here just take my phone and call her." He says

He struggles to get the phone from his pocket. I unlock it and go the his contacts.

"Rylynn." I picked it and called her

"Hello?" She asked

"Hi I'm Adena calling from hunters hollow hospital do you know Myles is here?" I asked her

"No, is he okay?" She asked

"He should be fine but I don't know how much longer he'll be awake for, they gave him a lot of pain meds that should knock him out in a while." I say

"I'll be right there." She said

Then the line went dead.

"What grade are you in?" I ask him

"Tenth." He says

"Really me too." I say

"No way, what school?" He asked

"Hunters hollow high." I say

"Me too, how come I never see you 'round?" He asked

Soon the doors bursted open. I walked out of the room leaving Myles question unanswered.

"You here for Myles?" I ask

"Yeah." She says huffing and puffing

"Room 1253." I say

She ran into his room and engulfed him in a hug.

"Your bleeding." She says to him

"I'm aware." He says

Jackson looks at me.

"When's you shift done?" He asks

"Soon." I say

"It's midnight." He said

"Okay, let's go." I say

We both walk out and we get in his car. He drives to the nearest pizza place and get two boxes of pizza. One pizza for me and one for him.

One thing I've learned from being a wolf is that I'm always hungry. I took the pizza and I opened it and within a couple minutes it was completely gone. Jackson was still eating his. I took a piece from his box. He laughed almost died with the piece of pizza in his mouth. But he was fine.

He drove me to my house and walked me to my door. He kissed me then my mom opened the door.

"Hello Jackson." She said

"Hey, Cathy." He said scratching his neck

"Thanks for getting me pizza." I say

"Anytime." He smiled

He hugged mom.

"Thanks for bringing her home." She said

I walk in the door. Mom shuts it and follows me into the living room.

"I know I said you should take on shifts to make a little extra cash, but I didn't say to take midnight shifts." She said

"I know, but there was a boy that came in and I had to wait for him to wake up, when did you get home?" I ask

"Ten, Sabrina got here an hour earlier... So be quiet because she's sleeping." Mom says

I walk upstairs to my bedroom and got into my pjs. I laid down. For some reason I couldn't fall asleep. That seems to be a theme in my life lately. I never seem to be able to sleep.

I got up and checked my clock.

1:57

Well here goes eighth day of insomnia. I sit on my bed and stair at the moon.

I get a text from Jackson,

In sorry if your sleeping but I was wondering if your still up.

I replied,

Yeah, I can't sleep it's been a while since I've actually gotten sleep.

Me too, ever since I joined your pack.

R u saying this is my fault?

Not at all. I'm just pointing out a common theme here. We both haven't gotten sleep since then.

I know.

Which is why we need to figure it out, soon you'll start to notice how pale you've gotten and your power will start to dwindle and then we both could possibly die.

Well I'm assuming we have to find it soon because I already can hardly stand

I know... That's what worries me.

I set my phone down. I fully transform. I had enough energy left to run to Casey's house before I collapsed. I was awake but collapsed on the ground. Casey rushed to my side. She teleported Jackson along with her book here.

"May I ask you two what is going on?" She asked

"We both haven't gotten sleep in eight days." I say

Casey takes the book from Jacksons hands. She looked through it. She went to her herb shelf and got a couple of things. She out them in water and into two mugs which she then placed into the microwave. The timer went off and she took them out.

"What is that supposed to do?" I ask

"Help you sleep." She says

"That's all we have to do? Way too good to be true." Jackson says

"There's a catch." Casey said

"I knew it." Jackson said

Casey glared at him, "You guys can't think about how you die anymore."

Jackson and I looked at each other.

"You guys have no idea do you? Since before you even met your paths have been intertwined, your minds linked... So what keeps you up keeps her up and vice versa. What you think about he thinks about and vice versa." She says

"Is there a way to stop us from thinking about it?" Jackson asks

"I'd have to perform a spell." She says

"Do it." Jackson and I say

She took out a spell book and read from the page as she chanted. She finished the spell.

I looked at Jackson. Then at Casey.

"Did it work?" I ask

"We'll see in the morning." She said as she took the tea and I drank it.

I woke up in the morning in my bed... Beside Jackson. I jerked up and nearly fell. He too did the same as I.

"Woah, that's the best I've slept in days!" He said
