How did this happen?

Titan ran as fast as she could and hid in the opening of a large tree. She sat there and held her breath. She heard footsteps approaching but thankful where she hid was quite hard for anyone to detect. She contemplated spending the night there but as sun began to set, she figured it'd be better if she kept moving. She was yet to come out when someone discovered her. She widened her eyes when she saw John wade the second in command to Ting Xiao; the betrayer. She could feel her heart in her mouth. He dragged her out by her hands and led her eastward. She was still little and only had a little knowledge about kungfu. She couldn't compare with the likes of John wade.

She struggled to free herself from his grip but failed miserably. What to do? She had no idea where he planned to take her and what they planned to do with her. Was she going to get killed even before she discovers her destiny? Was this what was called the end before the beginning?

She used her tiny hands to fight back by punching him but he didn't react like someone who was getting beaten. He just kept dragging her eastward but she didn't relent and kept throwing punches here and there. It was only when she finally hit him in his special place and causing him to groan a little that he finally came to a halt, but even after that, he didn't let go of her hands. He furrowed his brow and slapped her across the face sending her rolling on the dirty ground.

"Bitch!" He was furious.

Titan's eyes turned red and blood could be seen at the side of her lips. She used her fingers to touch lips which was bleeding and stared at the blood. How dare he? How dare he hit her? She had never been hit not even by her parents so what gave him the guts to think he could do this and go unpunished?

She turned abruptly which caused her hair to flip sideways. Titan had an extreme energy burning through her vitals at the moment as she thought of doing something drastic but before she could stand up she saw someone's silhouette approaching. How? How's this possible?

Ting Xiao gripped onto his tummy with his left hand and leaned side ways. He had his sword which was dragging on the floor in his right hand. Titan diverted her eyes from his direction inorder to reduce John Wade's suspicion. She stared deep into his eyes as if she wanted to say something. There was something about her eyes. Those emerald eyes were possessing and if one stared deep into them, they'd get dragged into a world of illusion.

Ting Xiao drew closer and lifted his sword as with is last strenght then slashed John Wade through his lower abdomen causing him to jolt back to his senses. Ting Xiao immediately looked at Titan and exclaimed, "Run! And don't look back."

John Wade fell to the floor groaning in pain as he held onto his stab abdomen. Titan took to her heels again and Ting Xiao lifted up his sword to finish the job but before he could do anything, John shook his head as if recovering from being possessed.

"What am I doing here? Hey! Why are you pointing your sword at me?."

Ting Xiao looked puzzled for a while what's this idiot spewing? He furrowed his brow "How dare you ask me that after everything you've done to me and the clan. I can't even bring myself to look at you in the eye."

"Brother Ting Xiao I have no idea what you're talking about. All I remember was fighting on the battlefield but after I encountered one of the walking dead, I turned blank. You have to believe me I have no idea what you're saying." his eyes were the most innocent ones Ting Xiao had ever seen. Slowly, he found himself believing John Wade's words.

Wade looked at Ting Xiao's side and realized he has lost so much blood. "Brother Xiao, you've lost a lot of blood. How did this even happen?"

He took two steps closer and Ting Xiao raised his sword "Don't you dare come any closer." He was loosing his strength and soon knelt on the floor.

Wade stretched his hands to help the dying Xiao. "Let me help. You know I'm experienced in these things."

Ting Xiao wanted to rebuke him but his eyes were giving way and his body was loosing life. He fell to the ground face first and felt paralyzed.

Wade began to laugh hysterically "Fool! You should have striked when you had the chance. I was only buying time and now look you won't last a minute. You certainly can't even move a limb. Now what to do? How should I finish you? Should I cut you limb by limb?" He looked as if he was thinking about something.

"Or should I just watch you die? Or better still should I find Titan and bring her in front of you to watch how I end you. You know, I'm not bothered about Titan because someone else is looking for her and must have gotten her now."

He sat on a lot of wood, tilted his head backwards and relaxed "Haaaa... What a relief."

He sat up again and finalized. "Sadly, I don't have all day." He removed his dagger from behind his pants and raised Ting Xiao's head. With that, he slashed across his neck. "Now I'm sure you'll not wake up again. We'll meet in hell brother. Sadly, you'll get there before me."

He kicked Ting Xiao's body aside and walked in the direction of Titan's departure exerting some pressure on his stabbed abdomen with his left hand.

** at the same time, in another distant part of the bush, Titan was seen running non stop. Although she could not see anyone chasing her, she kept running. Still running, she turned back to see if anyone was following her thankfully she didn't find anyone.

As she turned, she ran into an armored uniform. 'No! no! no! no! no! Not this. Not again.' She didn't dare look for she already knew whom that armor belonged to. Of course it was a walking dead; the last one that survived from the attack.

She took two steps back and tried to run away but he grabbed her hand and held her by her neck, choking her. The pain was excruciating as she felt her life force being slowly sucked away from her.

Suddenly, something began to burn her dress at her upper arm and the bracelet was revealed. The walking dead's attention was attracted to it. He reached out his hands to touch it but immediately his hand came in contact with it, he felt a pinch. After which he became uncomfortable as if something was burning him from the inside. he subconsciously let go of Titan who fell to the ground almost lifeless, then trying to retreat, he fell to his knees and turned to ash.
