See The Light

### Back to the time at the forest.

Commander Julius secretly instructed one of the soldiers to deliver a message to the king telling him all about their encounter and the lost prince. He wrote his message on a piece of paper and even the soldier had no idea about its real content. After he sent the soldier off, he went back to the spot where the other soldiers were camping for the night. It was at the same spot where they slew the giant viper.

The soldiers gathered around the bonfire with everyone lost in their thoughts.

The mission went well. The Leo clan had been conquered so why was it so important that they captured this boy? Defeating the Leo clan was already a hard enough task and now, this boy..? Recalling the faces of soldiers or better still the faces of brothers who have lost their lives both at war and to the giant viper, no one was in the mood to talk.

The commander noticed everyone's gloomy face and sighed. He wasn't sure if he would make it out alive as well but he'd rather die carrying out his duties and protecting his clan than running away at the sight of danger.

He walked towards the spot where the remains of the viper which had turned to dust laid. Squatting, he wore his gloves and touched the dust feeling its soft texture and revealed a smile of victory. At least they conquered this viper.

His attention was then drawn to a soldier who began to sing.

'I am a poor wayfaring stranger.....'

Some other soldiers joined in and soon, they were all singing

'I'm travellin' through this world with woe

Yet there's no sickness, toil, nor danger

In that bright land to which I go.'

The commander smiled, pulled off his gloves, and placed them behind a rock before sitting amongst the soldiers as they all sang to comfort their weary souls.

'I'm going there to see my father

I'm going there no more to roam

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home.'

They kept singing and they soon fell asleep. Time flew fast and soon midnight came. A few meters away from where the soldiers slumbered, particles from the giant viper began to ascend forming beautiful glittering dust particles. It was a very beautiful sight. Unfortunately non of them got to see it.

The glittering particles gathered. Even the particles on the commander's gloves ascended while his gloves burned. When all the particles got to a particular height, it began to descend with force then went down into the well with great speed and immerse force that could push the largest elephant in the wild as it drove itself to the depth of the well where zagan sat. At the sight of the little boy, the violent dust particles went still. Zagan who was sleeping and had his head down was shivering due to the cold weather and if he remained like that, he'd get a fever. Swifty yet carefully, the dust particles wrapped Zagan like a thick, comfortable blanket shielding him from the harsh weather.

The little boy felt comfortable and soon stopped shivering and fell into the beautiful abyss of sleep.

At the same time, in the Lynx clan, The little titan was shivering under his large blanket. It was obvious that he was coming down with a fever. Shivering and grounding his teeth, he got out of bed, walked up to the door, locked it, and stripped with much difficulty.

He took another blanket from the table beside his bed and wrapped himself in it before using the thick blanket to cover his body again.

The cold did not subside instead, it felt as though it had increased. He kept shivering and his body temperature skyrocketed. He felt uncomfortable. Sometimes, he would feel hot and when he thought he was getting better, the immerse cold would arise. It continued till the sun began to rise. It was frustrating.

Just when he was about to turn water from the jar on the table beside his bed into his cup, he heard a sound from the door. He immediately wrapped himself in his blanket burying his head.

"knock... Knock." when there was no response, the maid spoke.

"Your highness, it is I, Maria. I brought you breakfast."

Still no response. The guards standing by the door stared at each other wondering what could have happened to the prince. He never delays in opening the door so why was today different?

The guards asked the maid to knock again, they were all getting tensed.

The maid was equally worried and knocked again this time louder than before but she got no response.

Instinctively moving the maid aside, one of the guards held onto the handle of the door intending to open it while the other guard drew his sword.

Maria suddenly remembered something and thought, 'oh no! What if they find out?' But before she was able to stop them from invading the prince's privacy, the guard had already turned the handle. Her eyes widened in horror.

'It's over. My life is officially over. What would happen to me if these guards find out little titan's secret?' She thought.

'But what is this? The door is locked?'

The guards were surprised to see the door locked. "It is locked from inside. I have to try and break it down the prince might be in danger."

'What?' There was no way Maria would let them break the door. She swiftly pushed through them and waved her hands, "Ah! Stop." She had to come up with an idea to stop them fast.

The soldiers were bewildered. 'What's wrong with this woman.' They thought.

"Step aside woman!." These guards were losing their patience. She searched her brain for an idea and finally, her eyes shone when she got an idea, 'Aha!'

"Um... I just remembered the prince told me that he would be up late today and he doesn't want any disturbance. He also said not to barge into his room or else the consequences would be serious." She said this with a firm voice and none of the guards suspected that she was lying.

"Or would you rather taste the wrath of the king?" she asked meaningfully.

"No no, it's alright. We understand but it would be best if you inform the king about this. Just to be on the safe side."

"Sure. I'll go right away."
