The City Lord Is Being Manipulated by Someone?

"Oh?"

The city lord looked at Asgela in confusion.

He knew who Locke and Hathaway were. What he did not understand, however, was Accius' connection with them.

Asgela looked at Accius with resentment and said through gritted teeth, "He was the one who stopped me from killing Locke and Hathaway!"

"What on earth is going on?" The city lord asked with a frown.

Asgela had not provided him with any details. All he mentioned was that Accius had returned.

This had left the city lord rather lost.

"That's right, I was the one who stopped Asgela."

At this moment, Accius stood up and looked at the city lord. He asked, "My lord, Locke and Hathaway are not the ones controlling the invading Daemons. Why did you order Asgela to lead the imperial guards to attack them?"

"You dare question me!?" The city lord frowned, and his tone became more dignified.
