Emotional numbness took over my body as I felt lifeless. I was taking away from my home where I was allegedly forced to marry this man that I barely know.
Not only that but I have to be Queen where I don't even know what I'm doing.
I moistened my now chapped lips as I try to sleep my misery away but it seems like I couldn't sleep for anything. I don't know how long I was on this plane but it felt like an eternity.
"Let me drop something of what you are going to expect from Everest. He's not a patient man meaning if he tells you to do something you do it and wants it to be done immediately. Always make eye contact with him when you're speaking to him because he despises that. No talking back and he intensely dislikes liars." The man who I didn't want to talk to right now told me.
This man is asking for too much and that's what I'm expecting.
Ignoring him, I heard him laugh ruefully in front of me and I turned to him to see who he was laughing at.
"You know you're going to be a pain in the ass for Everest. Don't like speaking when I'm talking to you. You know he doesn't like that either."
"And I should give a fuck?" I discharge him, not really caring for him nor his expectations.
"You should care because he won't take that little attitude you have. Best believe he will teach you some respect." He informed me sternly, and I rolled my eyes from his little threat.
When I'm there no one is going to tell me what I can or can't do. My main motivation is to escape all of this and go back home where I belong.
My mood changed from the thought of my Papa and Hailey back at home. Since I'm not there, I can't defend them anymore.
He could possibly kill them if I'm not there to stop him. Now I really need to find a way to leave.
A woman came over the speaker informing us that we will be landing shortly and to buckle your seat belts.
Buckling my seat belt, I pulled up the window curtain where sunlight dazzled my eyes. This the first time in years that I saw the sun.
It felt so pleasant on my pale skin as it absorbed. I look down to the stranded thousands of trees scattered everywhere.
I saw a flower field that I desperately wanted to see because it looked so gorgeous from the numerous types of colors scattered everywhere.
When the plane finally landed, I was pulled up from my seat. I didn't realize I was still in my pajamas and no shoes when I looked down.
"Don't worry we will change you before you meet your husband." Gregory briefed me when he saw me look down at myself.
He forced me forward where I was stepping off the plane. "Much appreciated for flying me safely." I thank the pilot and his team for flying me safely.
"You're welcome, your Majesty." He takes his hat off before bowing to me.
Gregory continues pushing me off the plane where I was greeted with fresh air. Not the toxic air that I inject back in California.
The sun felt so good while the wind was blowing through my hair. I could stand here all day.
A bunch of cars starts to pull up and the driver gets out, speed walking over to merely open the door for the person. A man steps out, and he walks over to me with a warm smile on his face.
There's no fucking way I'm not marrying that old man. He looks old enough to be my Dad.
He grasps my hand, kissing the top of my hand tenderly.
I felt sickened by his actions by jerking my hand away, dusting my hand with my shirt. I don't know why people just randomly grab your hand and kiss it. I don't know where this man has been.
The man chuckles from the sudden surprise of my actions. "I'm so sorry your Majesty he doesn't know how all of this work I promise I─" I heard Gregory say quickly.
The man holds up his hand to make Gregory silent from his rambling. "Look I understand why he reacted. Although that was very disrespectful for you to do that, you will learn how to be the perfect Queen for Kingra Laoslanasa for the time being. My son has been expecting your arrival and tremendously excited for you to meet him."
Does that mean this old man is not Everest?! Why am I so thrilled about that?
"Come on we must introduce you to Everest because I promise him that you both will meet each other before supper." He says while walking away and I was being pushed to follow him. I don't why this man keeps pushing me.
This country was a beautiful place where I wish I could take my family and move here.
There were so many happy people here that it made me sad for all the people back in the United States. Everyone should experience this lifestyle.
"So how old are you?" Mr. Vogal said, making me look at him.
"20 years old." I responded with a monotone, and his eyes went wide from my answer.
"Wow, I thought you looked younger than that, but that's great since I thought my son was being kinda risky picking a minor to marry him." He told me in surprise and I shrug, already used to people thinking I'm a 13 year old.
I wanted to ask him why you let your son be King knowing that he is a murder but then I thought about it and If I say that he might kill me on the spot for even asking him that.
"What are your thoughts of being Queen of Kingra Laoslanasa?" Mr. Vogal asks me, trying to make conversation and I genuinely don't want to initiate a conversation with this man.
Honestly, I don't want to be forcefully married to your psychopath son and don't want to be Queen where I might fuck it up.
"Well, it just seems that all of this stuff is being thrown at me and I don't know how to handle it."
Mr. Vogal nods his head in understanding. "I see where you are coming from, but my son sees something in you and that's why he chose you to lead our country. I know it seems a lot, but that's how it always was through decades."
"But why me? Would that be unusual to have a male to be a Queen?" I asked, and he started to chuckle from my statement. I don't why he takes my question as a joke.
"Hayden, my great grandfather was a Queen and other generations after that had males who were Queens. Although I married a female because she looked like a jewel to me when I first laid eyes on her." He says with a faint smile, and I sat there with many questions running through my head.
Before I could respond I took sight of a massive gate where a big castle stands out. My jaw dropped to the floor from how big it was. It looked like I could get lost in it easily.
The grass was trimmed neatly while people were outside gardening. Flowers were scattered all over the yard making me look in daze.
The car stopped when we were in front of the castle.
There were people already outside the house, expecting my arrival. The driver fling opens my door, extending his hand out for me and I take it gracefully.
"Your Majesty we have been expecting your arrival and right on schedule." A middle-aged woman walks up to us with a kindly smile but then curtsey.
"Yes get the Queen all wash up and into some fresh clothes immediately." He told her and she nods her head before grasping my hand to lead me up to the stairs.
When we walked into the Castle my feet were hit on the cold floor making me shudder. I was being dragged through different hallways until I was standing in front of a door.
We walked in a room where a girl that looked my age was doing something. "Ruby darling!" The woman gets the young girl's attention, and it made her drop all the things she had in her hands.
"Jesus mother you scared me." She says as she gets down to recover all the things she dropped. I walk over to help her, and her eyes widen at me helping her.
"It's okay your Majesty I got it." She gave me a genuine smile and I assisted by grabbing all the things she dropped and helping her put it on the table.
"Your Majesty you didn't have to do that. She could have handled that herself." The girl said sweetly to me. The girl was holding a lot of stuff in her arms, so she really couldn't do it herself.
"No it's fine, and those boxes are really heavy." I imparted them and the woman walked over to me, dusting imaginary dust off me.
"Nonsense we don't want you to do anything and we must change you out of these clothes." She hauls me forward where I was sitting down in a chair.
"Ruby go get the clothes from the rail." She ordered the girl and she nodded, going to go do what she said.
"That's my daughter Ruby, she's something that not a lot people would pay attention to." She told me as she started to brush my hair. That was rather fucked up for even saying something about your child.
Ruby came back into the room with the clothes in her hands. The lady took the clothes from her hands and gave it to me.
"Hayden why don't you freshen up in the bathroom. I gotta go check up on something and Ruby make sure you don't let him out until I get back or if the King asks for him." She says to her, and the girl shakes her head, not making eye contact with the woman.
At that, the woman walks out of the room with her heels clicking on the marble floor. When the door was closed, it was quiet in the room while I was looking at the girl in the mirror.
"Why does your mother treat you like that?" I ask, and she looks up from what she is doing, startled by me speaking to her.
"Um, I don't know." She shrugs, looking down to the ground instead of me. "I mean she's kinda upset from all these years of her trying to make an excellent impression on me for the King. Once he announced that he found you, she just sees me as a waste because she wanted me to be the Queen instead of you."
I mean she can take my place if she liked but I knew she didn't want that either. "Well, you shouldn't feel bad about yourself. You seem like a nice girl that deserves so much better than the King."
She smiles then looks at me through the mirror. "Thanks your Majesty."
"Please call me Hayden. That word is starting to get on my nerves." I groaned and I heard her giggle.
"They would freaking kill me if they overheard me entitling you by your real name." She says and I signal her off from her getting in trouble.
"Well, when you're around me, you can call me Hayden." I told her and she smiles once more. She seems like a wholesome girl that has to be controlled by her mother.
"Oh, we must get you dressed. We don't want you to be late because the King dislikes when people are not on time, especially his Queen." She tows me out of the chair and nudges me into the bathroom.
