Training

For the last four weeks, Ashlyn had train her different types of Pokémon in different environments. Like her Grass and Poison types had trained in the forest, water types had train at the beach, and her other types like Flying, Rock, Steel, Electric, Psychic, and Fire types had trained in the mountains. Most of her Pokémon had evolved as well.

Her Ninorino became Ninoking, Ninorina into Ninoqueen, Raboot into Cinderace, Braixen into ‎Delphox, Wartortle into Blastoise, Ivysaur into Venusaur, Dragonair into Dragonite, Magnemite into Magneton, Kadabra into Alakazam, Growlithe into Arcanine, Seadra into Kingdra, Mienfoo into Mienshao, and Vulpix into Ninetales.

As for the Mega Stones that Ashlyn had gotten on her trip, she gave one to Aerodactyl, Gengar, Rory, Blastoise, Venusaur, Alakazam, and Kangaskhan. Unfortunately her beast trio were still young and not ready for Mega Evolution. So Ashlyn decided that they should wait a few more months until they can be ready.

Volkner, Misty, and Brock also decided to help Ashlyn train her Pokémon. For Misty, her Oddish had evolved into Gloom, Magikarp into Gyarados, Goldeen into Seaking, Mudkip into Marshtomp, Tentacool into Tentacruel, Seadra into a Kingdra, Tirtouga into Carracosta, Finneon into Lumineon and both Poliwags into Poliwhirls. For Brock, his Rhyhorn evolved into Rhydon, Machoke into Machamp, Kabuto into Kabutops, Zubat into Golbat, Weepinbell into Victreebel, Geodude into Graveler, and Diglett into Dugtrio. Volkner's Voltorb evolved into Electrode.

At the end of the training month, Ashlyn's Pokémon egg hatched and it turned out to be a shiny male Rayquaza which was a shock to everyone. But it was a healthy one, that was all that mattered to everyone. She named him Helios, God of the Sky.

However, Rockruff and Cubone needed to be in the Alola region in order to evolve.

So Ashlyn and her friends headed off to the Alola region so that Rockruff and Cubone could evolve. Unfortunately Flint couldn't come with them since he volunteered to be Volkner's substitute gym leader while Volkner went with them.

So Ashlyn brought Tesla, Lucario, Levina, Rockruff, Cubone, Glaceon, Pidgeot, and her two Amaura's with her.

The gang arrived at the airport where they're suppose to meet Prof. Kukui.

"I can't wait to see Kukui again." Ashlyn said with excitement.

"You've met him before?" Volkner asked.

"Yeah, he's the one who Rockruff lived with before he was given to me." Ashlyn replied.

"Wow." Misty said.

"You guys are gonna like him, trust me." Ashlyn assured them.

Once they left the airport, they waited on the sidewalk where they saw a red jeep pull up. There they saw a young man with a muscular physique, who has dark eyes, black hair, a black man bun and a goatee. He wore a white hat with a rainbow decoration in the front, glasses with a teal frame, a white lab coat with rolled-up sleeves, grey baggy pants with a teal stripe and white drawstrings and some teal shoes with a white outline. This man was Prof. Kukui.

"Alola Ashlyn!" Kukui greeted.

"Alola, Kukui!" Ashlyn greeted.

"Alola?" Misty asked.

"It's a greeting we have here in Alola." Kukui replied.

"Oh, well then Alola." Misty greeted.

"Alola." Volkner and Brock greeted.

"Alola and I welcome you all to the Alola region." Kukui welcomed.

Soon enough, Kukui drove them to a hotel where they could stay for the next three weeks for Ashlyn's training. After they were soon unpacked and settled, Ashlyn began training with Tesla, Levina, Lucario, Rockruff, Pidgeot, and Cubone. They trained along the beaches mostly.

They went to Akala Island for Rockruff and Cubone to train there. Kukui introduced them to Olivia, who was known as a Pokémon Whisperer.

Olivia was a dark-skinned woman with dark brown eyes and black hair that reached to her shoulders. She had pink crystal earrings, a crystal necklace and a crystal ring on her right hip. She also wore light pink lipstick. She wore a light pink midriff top and dark pink shorts with light pink sandal heels. She wore many anklets around both ankles and equal amounts of bracelets on her left arm and has a teal nail polish. Olivia also wore a short-sleeved cream colored sweater, with an opening in the front.

Brock instantly tried to flirt with her, but Misty grabbed his ear and dragged him away. The strange and funny thing about Olivia that she tripped over her own two feet most of the time.

Ashlyn trained with Cubone and Rockruff the whole day there, taking long breaks into between. The next day, Cubone had evolved into an Alolan Marowak. She decided to give him the name Ignado which meant 'fire'. Now an Alolan Marowak and getting a name made him very happy.

The day after Ignado had evolved into Alolan Marowak, the gang was at the Pokémon center on Akala Island. When they got up, they noticed that Rockruff was missing. Kukui and Olivia had arrived when they heard. They had spent most of the day looking for the Puppy Pokémon. Everyone met up after their search, but none of them found Rockruff.

"Just where could he be?" Ashlyn asked with worry.

"I'm sure he's fine." Volkner assured her.

"I remember when my Rockruff started leaving unexpectedly before it evolved." Olivia petted her Midday Lycanroc, "It only came back to me when after it evolved into Lycanroc."

Ashlyn looked down at the ground and then she got an idea, "Lycanroc, can you tell me where you evolved?"

"Lycanroc? (Why?)" Lycanroc asked.

"I believe that Rockruff might be heading towards a place where he can evolve." Ashlyn replied, "Please, I'm really worried about him."

Lycanroc stared at Ashlyn for a moment. Then it turned around and looked over its shoulder, "Lycanroc (Follow me)."

So the group followed after Olivia's Lycanroc to where it evolved. Ashlyn was growing more worried for Rockruff. She was worried that Rockruff might be hurt while trying to get himself to evolve.

"So what form do you think that Rockruff will evolve into?" Misty asked, trying to ease Ashlyn's worries.

Ashlyn shrugged, "Don't know. It's up to Rockruff to decide."

"Do all Rockruff's behave the same when they're about to evolve?" Volkner asked Olivia.

"Yes. Some are aggressive and some just leave and then come back after they evolve." Olivia replied.

Unexpectedly, a Pokémon burst from the bushes, surprising the group. The Pokémon left a trail of sparkles behind it.

"What is that?" Ashlyn asked.

"Tapu Lele must be nearby." Oliva replied.

"Tapu Lele?" Brock asked.

"Tapu Lele is the island guardian of Akala. That Pokémon must have went to Tapu Lele." Olivia explained.

"Do you think its possible that Rockruff might have gotten injured and has gone to seek out Tapu Lele?" Ashlyn suggested.

"Yungoos Yun Yun Goos Yungoos (Did you say you're looking for a Rockruff?)" A Pokémon asked.

The gang turned to the Pokémon who stood in front of the gang.

"A Yungoos?" Ashlyn took out her phone.

[Yungoos, the Loitering Pokémon. Normal type. Yungoos have sturdy fangs and jaws. It wanders around in a never-ending search for food. At dusk, it collapses from exhaustion and falls asleep on the spot.]

"Yes, I'm looking for my Rockruff. Have you seen him?" Ashlyn asked the Yungoos.

Yungoos nodded, "Goos Yun Yun Yungoos Goos Yun Goos (Yes, I saw two Lycanroc's bringing an injured Rockruff to the Ruins of Life)."

"The Ruins of Life?" Ashlyn repeated.

Yungoos nodded.

"Thank you." Ashlyn thanked the Yungoos.

Yungoos nodded once more and then took off.

"Olivia, do you know where the Ruins of Life is?" Ashlyn asked.

"Yes, follow me." Olivia instructed and they followed after her.

They soon arrived at the ruins. When they got there, they found Rockruff injured in the middle of a ruin with a Midday Lycanroc and a Midnight Lycanroc protecting him from a Pokémon that stood before them.

The Pokémon had a black upper body and head with a few small white markings. Its eyes were blue with a pink line through the middle of each iris. Below each eye was a curved white line and above each was a curved pink line separated into three segments. On its upper body was another, thicker curved white line. Its thin arms had digit-less hands and puffy pink bracelets on each wrist. On top of its head was a mass of dark pink, tentacle-like hair. Two longer strands of hair frame its face. Encasing its dark pink lower body and on top of its head was a shell resembling an insect.

The shell was primarily light pink. The portion on top of its head was conical with a white diamond marking in the center and a white half-diamond marking below that. Both diamond shapes are framed with black. The shell around its lower body mirrored the diamond markings and had an additional half-diamond on the back. On each side was a hexagon marking consisting of five dark pink triangle and one light pink triangle all outlined in black. It resembled the compound eyes of many insects. There were also projections on the back of the shell that resemble butterfly wings and a small black bump on the bottom similar to a curled proboscis. Ashlyn knew that that Pokémon was Tapu Lele, the guardian deity of Akala Island.

"Tapu Lele." Olivia gasped when she saw the island guardian.

"Rockruff!" Ashlyn cried out as she ran up to him and cradled him in her arms. Her eyes shook with sadness, "Rockruff."

Then she heard a thump near her and saw the Midnight Lycanroc passed out.

"What the-?" Ashlyn trailed off.

Then she saw Tapu Lelu go over to the Midday Lycanroc and pressed its lips against the Midday Lycanroc's cheek and it glowed a light yellow color before it passed out. Before she could move, Tapu Lele placed her lips on Ashlyn's cheek. She felt her energy being drained from her and then she blacked out.

A few seconds later, Ashlyn felt something wet on her cheek. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Rockruff looking worried at her.

"Rockruff, thank goodness you're okay." Ashlyn sat up and hugged Rockruff.

The two Lycanroc woke up as well. They walked closer to Ashlyn and looked happy to see that Rockruff was okay now.

"Thank you two for bringing him here." Ashlyn thanked them and looked up at Tapu Lele, "And thank you for healing him."

"Lele! (You're welcome!)" Lele smiled and flew around with a trail of sparkles behind her.

Rockruff jumped out of Ashlyn's arms and started walking towards the edge of the ruin. As the sun began to set even more, the sun glowed an illuminated green.

"This is..." Olivia trailed off.

"Green flash!" Kukui finished.

They watched as Rockruff howled and the two Lycanroc howled with him. Then he glowed and his form changed. Once the light was gone, Rockruff was in a new form. But it wasn't in the Midday or Midnight form of Lycanroc.

"You evolved Rockruff!" Ashlyn cheered as she and Tesla ran over to him and hugged him around his neck. He growled happily at Ashlyn's affection.

"That form is unknown to us. It must have been the influence of the green flash that made him evolve like this." Kukui stated as he and the others came over.

"Green flash?" Brock asked.

"You all saw the sun shine green just now, right? That's called a green flash." Kukui explained, "It's a very rare natural phenomenon that can only be seen when the sun rises or sets."

"It's such a rarely seen phenomenon," Olivia had tears streaming down her cheeks, "There's a legend on this island that says that anyone who sees a green flash will be blessed with happiness. Amazing...You're both amazing!"

"Does that mean I'll get my happiness when Olivia becomes my girlfriend?" Brock asked with pinkish sparkles around him.

"I doubt it." Misty said in a flat tone.

Brock hung his head in depression.

Ashlyn chuckled nervously and then turned to her Lycanroc. She blinked when she saw that her Lycanroc's eyes were the same color as the green flash. She knew it was because Rockruff had evolved at dusk.

"How about we call my Lycanroc's new form "Dusk" form?" Ashlyn suggested.

"Sounds good to me." Kukui agreed.

The gang watched the sun disappear on the horizon and the Lycanroc's howled together one last time.

"We should get going. It's been a long day for all of us." Kukui said.

"Good idea." Volkner agreed.

The group began to walk away when the other two Lycanroc's walked up to Ashlyn.

"Roc Lycanroc? (Can we come with you?)" The Midday Lycanroc asked.

Ashlyn blinked, "Huh?"

"Lycanroc Lycan Roc Lycan (We can easily sense that you're a caring and kind trainer)." The Midday Lycanroc explained.

"Lycan Lycanroc Lycan (Also a strong one at that as well)." The Midnight Lycanroc added.

"Are two sure?" Ashlyn asked.

"Lycanroc (We're sure)." The Midday Lycanroc nodded.

"Alright, how about I name you first?" Ashlyn asked.

"Roc Lycanroc (I would like that)." The Midday agreed.

"Roc (Me too)." The Midnight Lycanroc agreed as well.

Ashlyn turned to the Midday Lycanroc, "You'll be Lupa." Then turned to the Midnight Lycanroc, "You'll be Tynan." Then turned to her Dusk Lycanroc, "And you'll be Romulus."

The three Lycanroc's looked at each other and smiled.

"Lycanroc (We like them)." 'Lupa' smiled.

"Alright then, welcome to the team." Ashlyn took out two Pokéballs and held them out to the two Lycanroc. They pressed their snouts on the buttons were sucked inside. Both wiggled for a few seconds and stopped. Two successful captures.

"Well done, Ashlyn. Your Lycanroc evolved into a new form and you caught two Lycanroc's." Olivia congratulated Ashlyn.

"Thanks, Olivia." Ashlyn said with a closed eye smile.

The next day, the gang decided to take a break from the whole Rockruff evolution that happened yesterday and go look for some new Pokémon. Brock managed to find a wild Midday Lycanroc, Alolan Geodude, Alolan Graveler, and an Alolan Golem and Ashlyn found a shiny Carbink when she and Brock were exploring the Wela Volcano Park. Later that day, Ashlyn managed to get two Bounsweet's and Fomantis's. She wanted to give a Bounsweet and a Fomantis to her mother while she kept a Bounsweet and a Fomantis for herself. She also managed to catch a Pikipek. Volkner managed to find a Turtonator that he wanted to get for Flint. He knew that Flint always wanted one. For Misty, she brought her Lapras and they went to a good spot for finding water Pokémon and she managed to catch a Finneon, Alomomola, and a Wailmer.

The next day, Ashlyn had asked Kukui where she could train her Amaura's. He suggested that she should go to Mount Lanakila on Ula'ula Island. The day after, the gang thanked Olivia and left Akala Island, much to Brock's displeasure, and went towards Ula'ula Island.

Volkner, Misty, and Brock stayed at the Pokémon Center while Ashlyn and Tesla went up the mountain. Half way through training, Lucario sensed that they had some Pokémon watching them which revealed to be an Alolan Vuplix and an Alolan Sandshrew. The two Pokémon liked Ashlyn and her Pokémon and wanted to come with her. Three days later, both her Amaura's evolved into Aurorus's. The gang decided to take a break at the Pokémon Center for the next two days. Then the Alolan Vuplix and Alolan Sandshrew wanted to do some training too. So they trained for three and half days. Ashlyn's Alolan Sandshrew evolved into Alolan Sandslash, which she named Eirwen, and using an Ice Stone, her female Alolan Vulpix evolved into an Alolan Ninetales, which she named Elsa. All in all, all of her Pokémon were happy in their new forms.

The next day, they went back to Melemele Island to explore the island a little bit more. Around an hour later they were back at Melemele Island. Misty went to go fish around the rivers for more Pokémon and she managed to find a West Sea Shellos. Brock managed to find a Roggenrola while exploring the forests. Ashlyn helped Volkner find a Helioptile for himself and a female Salandit for Flint. Ashlyn did a little more training with her other Pokémon. Pikipek who soon evolved into Trumbeak, Bounsweet evolved into Steenee, and Fomantis evolved into Lurantis.

Two days later, the gang had to leave the Alola region so that Ashlyn would be able to celebrate her birthday and be able get to the Indigo Plateau.

The gang was at the airport with Principal Oak and Prof. Kukui standing in front of them.

"Thanks for everything, Kukui, Principle Oak." Ashlyn thanked the two men.

"It's our pleasure." Principle Oak smiled.

"We hope that you can come to the Alola region again someday." Kukui wished.

"Don't worry, we will." Ashlyn assured him.

And so, Ashlyn, Volkner, Misty, and Brock were on the plane that was taking them back to the Kanto Region.

"I say that we had a pretty good time in Alola. But now I got to concentrate on the Indigo League." Ashlyn declared.

Misty nodded, "Yeah. It was a great time."

"I didn't spend much time with Olivia, Nurse Joy, or Officer Jenny." Brock's head hung down in depression.

Ashlyn, Volkner, and Misty sighed.

"Give it a rest, would ya'?" Misty said.

They arrived at the Kanto Region the next day. They went back to Pallet Town and went to Prof. Oak's laboratory. Prof. Oak was fascinated when he saw Romulus's newly discovered form. He also informed Ashlyn that he made a medium sized dome shaped building for Ice type Pokémon which was great for her Aurorus's, Alolan Ninetales, and Alolan Sandslash.

Back at the Ketchum Residence, Ashlyn was given a surprised party thrown by her mom, Mimey, Prof. Oak, and Flint. Her mom had given her a book on Pokémon Contests and some nice hair ties. Prof. Oak gave her a book on Legendary Pokémon from all of the regions and a set of different types of Pokéballs. Ashlyn gave a Bounsweet and Fomantis to her mom who was very happy to receive them and Volkner gave the Turtonator and the female Salandit he had found to Flint who was cloud nine when he got them. It turned out to be a great party after all.
