All the preparations were neat. The servants were also ready with their uniforms.
It's not a big celebration. They are only waiting for one important family.
But at least that day, Ella's mind can be distracted by the busyness of facing the celebration tonight.
"Laras, can you help me. Taking Mrs. Huxley's cake order, she just told me to. She said it was specially given to their guest tonight." Alvin looked begging at Laras.
"Ahh ... you see me, my work is still piling up. Even Helen and Floretta rejected me, please ..." Alvin is getting more and more pleading.
"All right, Alvin. Just tell me where the address is. Hopefully, I can get there quickly." Laras said forcefully.
Until the time comes. The awaited guest has arrived. The Huxleys were ready to warmly welcome their guests and stood at the entrance.
"Welcome, Mr.Smith, welcome Mrs. Smith," said Mrs. Huxley.
Mr. Huxley shook Mr. Smith's hand excitedly, "So glad you came." Said Mr. Huxley gave him a broad smile.
"It's been a long time since we met. This is my daughter, Abigail Smith." Said Mr. Smith.
A young woman with shoulder-length blonde hair, smiling politely.
"Good evening, Mr. Huxley, Mrs. Huxley," Abigail said politely and softly.
"This is my son, Edward. And my daughter Clarissa." Mr. Huxley pointed to his two children beside him.
Clarissa shook Abigail's hand too eagerly, while Edward was silent and looked down respectfully at Abigail.
The two families started chatting in the family room. Mrs. Huxley never stopped praising Abigail, who she said was very beautiful. Abigail could only reply with a smile to hear that.
Edward didn't say much, only answering when he was asked. He was suspicious of his birthday that night.
Abigail looked stunning. She looked beautiful and elegant in her black dress. It seems that Abigail has a different charisma.
An educated woman from a wealthy family.
Edward Huxley also looks handsome in his black suit. And Ella must admit, she often glanced at Edward.
Ella was in the dining room, setting plates on each side of the table. She had to hasten her work because dinner time had arrived.
Mrs & Mr. Huxley have started inviting guests to enjoy dinner. Ella watched Edward, who was sitting opposite Abigail.
Abigail often looked up at Edward's face. But that man showed his cold face more often.
Ella was standing in the corner of the room. She had to be ready there if someone called and needed her help. Ella was already getting used to her job.
"Ella, hurry up and get an appetizer." Said Floreta, who was already carrying a tray in her left hand. Ella immediately moved to help Floretta.
Ella started putting each appetizer at the table one by one.
"So Abigail, I heard you majored in law at Oxford University?" Asked Mr. Huxley was curious.
"Yes, Mr. Huxley. I just need one year before my graduation." Answered Abigail.
"It's pretty, smart. You should be proud of your daughter Mr. Smith." Said Mr. Huxley over an appetizer.
"How about you, Edward." Asked Abigail and smiling looking at him.
"It's only a matter of waiting a few months for graduation," Edward replied dryly.
"Ahh ... Edward, happy birthday. I hope you like my gift." Said Abigail with a smile.
"Thank you," Edward replied briefly.
"I really can't wait for the two of you engagement." Said Mrs. Smith suddenly.
Edward, who heard it, turned to face Mrs. Smith, stared in disbelief.
Even Ella, who was pouring water beside Mr. Smith was also surprised. She accidentally spilled a little of the water she poured. And about Mr. clothes. Smith.
"Hhh... I'm so sorry ... I'm sorry." Ella immediately panicked and gave a rag to Mr. Smith.
"Ella?!" Clarissa shrieked in disbelief, and all eyes turned to Ella.
"It's okay. It can be cleaned up. It's not a problem, maybe I should go back for a bit." Said Alan Smith casually. Ella was still bowed embarrassed.
Mr. Smith stepped into the Huxley family toilet, luckily only water so it did not leave a stain on his white shirt.
After feeling enough to clean himself, Alan Smith decided to step outward.
"Brug ..."
A female servant had just bumped into him accidentally,
"I'm sorry, sir." Said Laras who had just arrived, and looked down politely.
"Laras, is it you? Really?" Mr. Smith immediately held Laras's hand tightly.
Laras was surprised to see the man in front of her. The man she'd been willing to forget for the rest of her life, the man who had ruined her future.
"You?! Why are you here?" Ask Laras again,
"Laras, it is you ... Where ..."
"Mother, have you come? Alvin is looking for you." Said Ela, who suddenly also appeared.
Laras immediately looked at Ella in surprise, as well as Mr. Smith, who was still shocked by himself, met the woman he had been looking for for a long time.
"Mr. Smith?" Called Ella was confused because the man was holding her mother's hand tightly.
"Ah .. yes .. sorry .." Said Mr. Smith, immediately let go of Laras' hand.
"Laras, here you are. Can you help me, and where is your luggage?" Alvin also appeared to look annoyed at Laras.
"Yes, Alvin, I'm sorry. Come on, Ella .." Said Laras, pointing to her daughter.
Laras, Ella, and Alvin left Mr. Smith, although Mr. Smith still looked suspiciously at the woman he had just met.
Ella was not in the dining room. Laras had replaced her. Ella asked her mother that she should take her place to help Alvin prepare gifts for the Smith family.
Ella just wanted not to hear, somehow when she learned about Edward's engagement. Her heart sank. There was a sense of discomfort she felt.
Even Alvin, who realized that Ella was not focused on helping him, often reprimanded him because Ella was daydreaming more.
The meeting of the two families was finally over. All the servants were still busy tidying up the remains of the meeting.
The chefs are left home Huxley Family, so are the waiters. Except for Alvin, Ella, and Laras, who live to stay at the Huxley family residence.
In the kitchen, there are only Ella and Laras, who are enjoying hot chocolate.
After drinking some aspirin given by Laras, Alvin decided to sleep early. He kept complaining about his headaches.
"Mom?" Call Ella staring at her mother who was enjoying her hot chocolate.
"Do you know Mr. Smith?"
