99: Trip

Mortals.

Those who permanently die.

Klein and Zagreus are immortals, which means they can't die. While the Gods of Olympus, mostly known as the Olympians were simply bounded to some energy called Faith, which was an energy that was produced by the concept of belief coming from mortals in something, that could be absorbed by a God of the user of Divine Energy to strengthen themselves. Klein took Zagreus to see the mortals because he wanted Zagreus to accumulate some Faith Energy but not be bound to it just like the other Gods are. What Klein wants is for Zagreus to accumulate Faith energy with him so he can use that energy to strengthen Zagreus.

And the best way to get followers!? By creating myths! The Olympians already have their myths, like Hades kidnapping Persephone, Athena winning against Poseidon and creating the olive tree, Poseidon raping Medusa, and Athena cursing her later, Zeus impregnating his 10383703rd women, and many other myths. But what Klein was Zagreus to be remembered as was a God of Life! So healing it was! Klein took his time teaching Zagreus about healing using blood and helped him train his Divinity that they found out about.

Zagreus's Main Divinity is [Life], his Sub Divinities are [Blood], [Healing], [Killing], [Massacre], [Bloodied Death]. Klein was so happy when they found out that he promised Zagreus to help him learn how to use to the fullest all his Divinity and Sub Divinities! Klein also think Zagreus has the affinity for the [War] Divinity and [Battlr] Divinity as well just like he does, but there is only one Ares, Klein could technically eventually form that Divinity for himself just like he is slowly forming a [Nature] Divinity, so if they meet Ares and Zagreus wants his Divinity, Klein will gladly kill the God and give his Divinity to Zagreus. Klein will do absolutely everything Zagreus asks him to do, as long as it isn't something that would hurt him.

"So basically I just have to go around and heal people to create my myth to get Faith Energy to empower my Divinity and even possibly develop a new Divinity in the process?" Zagreus held his forehead a little as the information he had to process was too much, Klein went on and on about Faith Energy and how useful it can be and how dangerous it can be as well. Like if the humans stopped believing in Gods, in a worst-case scenario the Gods would all vanish, in the best-case scenario they wouldn't disappear but would get weaker instead. "Yep." Klein popped the "p" at the end while holding Zagreus close to his chest, one thing Zagreus liked was to hear his heart beating. "I think I can do that... And what about you?" He asked as his head moved to look above him, where the love of his life was.

"I already receive Faith Energy from mortals," Klein stated and it was true! There is an aura around a Divine Being that they release passively because they have Divine Energy that aura can be easily caught by sentient beings of mortal, quasi-immortal, or immortal. Some people can't feel this aura but it doesn't necessarily mean something good. "You have worshipers?" Zagreus asked a little shocked, after all, he didn't know Klein had worshippers till now! "Yeah. They kinda worship me... They call me Katastrophe or Disaster because I am the God of Destruction." Klein explained as he rested his head above Zagreus's head, his face morphing in a cat-like lazy smile. "And what do they do? Like, what have you taught them?"

Klein made a thoughtful expression for a second before saying: "Well, I taught them about knowing how to create things before knowing how to destroy them, I passed down some knowledge and techniques that they could learn, including magic spells." Zagreus didn't know why but he had a headache for a second, he knew Klein was going to do something stupid. "I also may or may not have given them a powerful source of destruction. Gunpowder..." Klein smiled as he just changed history, gunpowder was not supposed not exist right now, but he just gave them to his worshippers... However, they were restricted to only use it in cases of self-defense or war, which was unlikely to happen as Klein's worshippers lived in isolation and tended to be more peaceful than aggressive. The amount of Faith Energy he received was good but not bad either, so he was okay with that.

"But for you, my love, you need several worshippers, you need a temple!" Klein exclaimed as his hold in Zagreus grew tighter and Zagreus chuckled with him, soon they were both on the grass, lying there while looking at the night sky. "It's so beautiful..." Zagreus whispered as he looked at the night sky so full of stars that twinkled in the dark, looking like fireflies stuck in a deep, dark veil. "Oh, thank you. You are quite beautiful yourself." Klein grew bolder and bolder to flirt with Zagreus, he loved his lover's reactions and how he blushed before smiling, it was so cute.

"I was serious about the temples... I want to make statues of you, every detail of your body, i want to write it, draw it, paint it, carve it, let it be registered in history... But I don't want any statue or even drawing of you naked. I will destroy it and kill everyone involved in its creation." Klein's jealousy was evident and Zagreus just smiled at it, it felt good for some odd reason, to have Klein jealous about him. Zagreus just nodded while Klein held his hand and both stared at the sky, the very next morning they made their way, taking their time, to arrive at a major city of Greece: Sparta.
