Eavesdropping
Min Yoongi POV,
We walked into the waiting room feeling happy, because we just won a Daesang tonight, Album of the Year.
"Woah daebak!", Shouted Jungkook, holding our trophy
When we entered the waiting room, all the staff and stylists clapped to congratulate us.
"Kamsahamnida, kamsahamnida. Thank you for your hard work," we exclaimed in turn to them
We then rested, sat around or talked with others. One by one the members changed their clothes. I saw Sofia was tidying Jin's clothes while having a serious chat with our oldest hyung.
To be honest, I was very shocked to see Sofia's condition earlier, she looked like she was having trouble breathing and was trying her best not to pass out. Did she remember something again?, I thought.
"Hyung, don't you change your clothes?", Asked Jimin who was sitting next to me
"Huh? Ye, just a minute," I replied, my eyes still fixed on Sofia and Jin
I'm worried about Sofia, to be honest. But I don't want to be seen as paying too much attention to her. I don't want to be cold to her either, it's just that if I'm nervous, I'll act like that without realizing it.
"Yoongi~aah, let's change your clothes, we'll be home soon", our manager, Sejin came over to me
"Huh? Going home? Umm it looks like I'm not coming home, hyung. I'll stay at my house tonight. My parents are visiting Seoul", I stammered
"Okay, I'll ask the driver to take you to your house, then", he replied again
"Ani, Gwaencahana. My brother will pick me up later", I replied with a small smile
"Jinjja? Alright, but tomorrow we will have a meeting at the office at 2 pm OK. Don't be late", he said again
"Ye, hyung", I replied
"Your parents come? Why do your parents visit Seoul so often?", Asked Jin, who had just sat beside me where Jimin was
"I don't know", I replied awkwardly
"Btw, Yoongi~aah, I have to tell you this. I don't want this to be bad for you and for us," said Jin with a serious face
"What's it all about, hyung?", I asked, frowning
"About your behavior to Sofia earlier ...", he replied looking at me closely
"Huh?", I muttered
"You shouldn't behave and say something mean to her like that. If you want to scold her, give her a good warning, not say it harshly and in front of the whole team", he said
"But she acted reckless earlier, hyung. And it affected to us ..", I replied looking away
"Ye, I know. Regardless of what she did, be it intentional or not, still you shouldn't act like that. She looked hurt by your words earlier," said Jin again
"Ye, I know I have overreacted earlier", I said, looking at Sofia
"Apologize to her, I know you feel guilty too ...", said Jin smiling at me
"Ye. I will do it, hyung", I said, lowering my face
"Good ... okay, I'll go home now. See you tomorrow?", Said Jin standing up from the seat
"Ye, hyung. See you tomorrow", I replied while waving at him
After I changed my clothes, I saw that the situation in the waiting room was getting empty. Jin, Jhope and Jungkook left earlier, while Tae, Jimin and RM were still waiting for the car.
I looked around the waiting room for the third time, looking for Sofia's whereabouts, but she was nowhere to be seen. I intend to apologize and want to ask her home together.
"Youra noona, sorry, where is the intern? There is something I want to tell her", I asked, rubbing the back of my neck
"Sofia? Oh, she was putting clothes into the car", Youra replied
"Company car?", I asked again
"Ye. It's in a staff-only parking lot in the side of this building," she replied
"Kamsahamnida noona", I replied, nodding my head
Then I rushed to the staff parking lot that Youra mentioned earlier. It was past midnight. The atmosphere in this building was quite, because many of the artists and staff had left.
When I got to the parking lot, I saw Bighit's staff car parked in the corner. There was no one in sight near it. I walked towards the car, I brought my face closer to one of the large car windows to see inside, but there was also no one.
When I decided to go back inside the building, I heard Taehyung's voice talking to someone. I walked to the back of the car and saw Taehyung and Sofia chatting while sitting on the sidewalk.
"Are you sure you're okay?", Asked Tae
"Ye. I'm okay now, I just had a little headache earlier," Sofia replied, awkwardly
Damn!! I looked for her everywhere, but instead she was with another man, I thought irritated. I leaned against the car, trying not to move and listening so I could hear their conversation.
"Thank God, will your husband come to pick you up?", Tae asked again
"Ani. I'll go home alone. I drove my own car", she replied
"Jinjja? But Ilsan to Seoul took almost 2 hours by car ?! Are you sure you can go home alone in the middle of the night like this?", Tae asked, worried
"Ye. I can ... don't worry", she said with a smile
There was a long silence ...
"I don't understand, I really don't understand how your husband can let his wife drive alone in the middle of the night. Isn't he worried about you?", Tae asked
"Huh? Umm I ... uh, he's busy. He's been working all day, I can't possibly ask him to come just to pick me up, right?", Sofia replied, laughing awkwardly
"Why not? If he loves you he will definitely do it even if you don't ask", said Tae again, he sounded annoyed
"Gwaencana, this is not a big deal after all", replied Sofia
"Really, I don't understand, Sofia. If I marry a woman I love, I will definitely do anything for her," Tae replied
"Taehyung ssi, everyone has a different marriage life, you can't equate yourself with everyone", said Sofia again
"I know ... I'm sorry", replied Tae quietly. "How long have you known your husband, Sofia?", Asked Tae
"Not long ago, just weeks before our wedding," Sofia chuckled
"Jinjja? Are you two in a match?", Asked Tae in disbelief
"Umm ne. Our parents have arranged this marriage since we were in elementary school. But I only met my husband again one month before our marriage", she replied
"Wow, jinjja? I didn't expect this at all ... do you love each other?", Tae asked again
I straightened myself up to hear more clearly.
"Uumm, I don't know. I don't think so, we don't have any feelings for each other. I don't think he takes this marriage seriously", replied Sofia
I lowered my face.
"How did you know?", Asked Tae sympathetically
"Before the wedding, he said that if one day we find someone we love, he will let me go to be with the man I love, and vice versa", replied Sofia, in a low voice
"Jinjja? Are you going to do that? I ... it's my first time seeing a marriage like that", said Tae in amazement and annoyance
"I guess I just need to wait for him to get tired of playing with me before he finally leaves me. Our marriage is too perfect to be true. He's quite handsome actually, rich, has a cool job, has an amazing career, lots of women are crazy about him. Well, even though his attitude and words are sometimes annoying and rude, but he is a good man. I think he is too perfect for me haha ... that's why I don't want to get too close to him ", replied Sofia with a laugh
"You're afraid you'll be disappointed? Do you like him?", Tae asked softly
I turned my face to the direction where they were. Why did that question make me nervous ?.
"Huh? Haha ani, aniya ... I don't think I have any feelings for him. I don't want things to be complicated for us, he's not my ideal type of guy actually, haha ...", replied Sofia chuckled
"Jinjja? What is your ideal type of man then?", Asked Tae curiously
"Huh? Why do you ask that? Haha ... well, my type, huh? Umm, for sure he has to be kind, fun to discuss with, then umm smart, tall, has a sweet smile ...", said Sofia, chuckling
"That sounds like me ...", replied Tae suddenly
Then they laughed out loud together.
I clenched my palms, then decided to quickly leave this place. Somehow hearing their chat earlier made me angry.
How could Sofia talk about our marriage to other people ?! She promised not to tell anyone right ?! I walked quickly to a toilet and washed my face in the sink.
I looked at the reflection of my face in the mirror.
"I'm not his ideal type of man? Huh! Seriously !! He's not my ideal woman either!", I snorted irritably
So she really has no intention of maintaining this marriage? I was too stupid, hoping that my marriage would end happily. All right, if that's what she wants, I'll follow her wish, I thought.
After I calmed down a bit, I got out of the bathroom and headed for the waiting room. At first I wanted to go home with Sofia tonight, because I was worried about her. But after hearing her conversation with Taehyung made me cancel my intention.
"Hyung, where are the other members?", I asked one of our make-up artists when I saw the waiting room which was empty
"They just said goodbye to go home couple minutes ago ... are you left behind?", He asked confused
"Huh? Gwaenchana, I will find them. Thank you for your hard work today", I said hastily while taking my bag that was lying in the corner
I ran to the parking lot, and I saw in the distance Jimin and V were entering the car, while RM was still waiting for his car to come.
"Jankanman! Jankanman! (Wait! Wait!)", I shouted, running towards him
"Hyung? Sejin hyung said you didn't come with us?", Asked RM confused when he saw me approaching him
"I change my mind ....", I replied while massaging my right thigh after arriving beside RM
"Gwaencana?", Asked RM looking at my feet
"Ye, it just hurts a little", I replied
When the car for us arrived, RM and I immediately got into the car. Less than 5 minutes I heard RM snoring beside me, he had fallen asleep. I was very tired too but Sofia's words kept ringing in my mind, making it difficult for me to close my eyes ...
