Chapter 12

City H slums area, near a bridge where people has used as their homes using recycled materials and some tents. A tall man wearing a leather jacket paired with black pants is currently standing in front of a little girl wearing tattered and old clothing. The tall man carefully gives the little girl a new teddy bear and then he flashed a gentle smile showing his golden teeth.

The little girl happily giggled as she received the gift that the man gave her.

"Alright, go now and be careful on your way sweetie…" the tall man said as he patted the little girl's head.

Suddenly the expression of the little girl changes as the large hand landed on her head. With gritted teeth, she muttered which only she and the man could hear.

"If you want to keep your hands, keep it to yourself… Or else, I will break it in two…" the little girl said.

When the tall man heard her words, his hand froze and his expression changes into one of fear.

Swallowing hard, he awkwardly removes his from the little girl's head and showed an awkward smile.

The little girl suddenly showed a happy smile on her face.

"Thank you mister!" she said in a cute tone which sends shivers running down the tall man's spine.

He just waves his hand until the little girl turns to a corner and disappears from his sight.

The man suddenly heaves a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden was lifted from his shoulders.

"Damn it... I can't believe that the little demoness was permitted to go out today. If she causes too much chaos in our territory then we would lose a lot today…" he said with a tone of dread.

"Hey, tell all of our boys to watch out for that little demoness. Tell them that they should just let her have her way and no one should stop her… I repeat... No one is to stop her if you don't want to die a bloody death by her hands…"

Hearing their boss' words everyone showed confusion in their eyes. They have noticed that their boss was acting subservient towards that little girl a while ago and everyone thought that she is their boss' daughter or something.

"Boss… Who… who is that little girl?"

One of his subordinates asked in curiosity.

Hearing his subordinate asking, the tall man could not help but showed a helpless smile.

"Let's go… I'll tell you all a very interesting story of a little demoness that has terrorized another city a while back when I was just a common thug…"

A year has already passed ever since Xin Wei and Lin Qiao had the accident where Xin Wei also lost his parents afterward, and city H has experienced a great transformation.

The once proud and prosperous city has slowly been turned into a city where the den of thieves and criminals are abundant.

The city has not the shadow of its previous prosperity as everyone lived in fear and in dread. Even normal citizen inside the city now carries their own weapons or guns in a pretense of protection. Those who are powerless would just succumb to this hell, and some who are able to, have already left the city.

But those who could not, have suffered and agonized through it all.

The weak are looking for some semblance of hope in these dark times. They could not help but pray that the gods above would hear their pleadings and deliver them out of this hell they are in.

However, on the surface of city H, everything seems to be normal. Those that have the ability to work could work normally and could live in some places that are deemed as safe under the syndicate's protection.

The lawlessness in the city is not present in these places.

Many could see people living normal lives while they kept themselves in check for fear of offending the syndicates and may plunge themselves into the hell inside of the city H, and live among its demons.

I opened my eyes and breathe in the fresh air of the forest. I have been training inside this place for many months now. And now it's been a year ever since the death of Lin Qiao and my parents.

As I have set the goal in my mind to get my revenge after I became stronger, I have prepared, trained, and grown to what I am today. I could not even consider myself as human anymore.

My strength stat is 100, and since I can carry a boulder which is roughly around 1 ton, this means that my strength which is 100 is multiplied by 10. Then my dexterity is 100 which I guessed would be my fastest speed and movement. I can now control my body and along with my reflexes which is really fast. This only means that when I move everything would become slower.

My other physical stats have grown too much that it made me feel almost overwhelmed.

I knew that this growth has something to do with my Qi. I observed that as it increases everything also increases added to my daily exercise regimen which made me stronger as the days go by. But the addition stats seem to have been intermittent. And because of that, my stats in strength and agility only reached 100 even though my Qi is now 150.

But I am already satisfied with this growth. My wounds would heal faster and my skin has become tougher. I could not even wound it easily with the sharp knife, and this made me truly astounded and happy at the same time.

I could already imagine if I started my revenge and that I might be surrounded by my enemies. It would be bad if I died at that time before exacting my vengeance, right? So now with my strength and abilities, those things would only be possible if I lose my mind and not concentrate.

To prevent this, I need to increase my intelligence. With the increase of my intelligence, I could have better control of my emotions. Yet, I can only do that if I return to the city and read more books.

But for now, this is enough.

As I look around, I suddenly saw the asphalt road. I seem to have reached the road later last night.

I then take the large backpack filled with my stuff. Inside this bad, I already have disposed of all the guns as they are now useless to me. I have expended all of the bullets so I left them in that cave. And also I have already gotten the skill I needed from them.

So aside from some of the clothes, and knives, I also brought with me some of the herbs inside that cave. But I did not take everything, some of those herbs are not yet useful as they are still young.

I stood by the roadside feeling the air around me. While I was basking in the feeling of my surroundings, I suddenly noticed a vehicle swerving down the road.

It suddenly went past my location and hit the guard rails. Then from the backseat, someone opened the door and jumps out of the vehicle.

I could see that the figure is a petite woman wearing dark blue jeans while not wearing any tops and only her black laced bra is covering her chest. I could see the anxiousness in her eyes and her face seemed a little bruised.

Then from the car, two burly men followed by a thin-looking young man walks out. The thin-looking young man is not wearing any shirts and on his hand is a gleaming handgun.

The young man had an evil smile on his face and a trace of blood could be seen at the side of his lips.

"You are feisty one… I did not expect that the rumors are true… The beauty of Atlas University is truly a cut above the rest. Your fighting skill is also very impressive. Hahaha… But what can you do now that I have a gun?" the young man said as he takes a few steps forward.

The young woman was not bothered by her half-nakedness and just took a fighting stance while facing the three people.

"You are shameless… if my clan knew of this, then you and your Dongfang clan would be in trouble…" the young woman said in an angry tone.

"Haha… You're threatening me? If you knew who orchestrated this, then you would not be saying such a thing in front of my face." the young man said with a grin.

"Dongfang Lin, you are shameless! I swear that I will kill you!" the young woman shouted not bothering to ask.

She knew that this guy is a shameless liar, so how could she believe him?

"Haha… Don't make any funny move now Miss Lee… I'm just here to take you as my wife. Once you are mine, then our clans could work together and become stronger, don't you agree?" Dongfang Lin said with a lascivious smile.

When he kidnapped the woman, he is sure that she was unconscious. But who would have known that she could recover after only a few minutes? He was about to rape her and has just ripped her blouse off, but at that instant, she suddenly opened her eyes, and that was the cause of the brawl inside the car.

I was watching this scene on the side but did not move as I just listened to the exchanges between these people. I then knew that these people belong to some big clans, and this made him feel disgusted. This is because those people who caused my pain all belong to big clans from city H.

I turns around and decided to walk away.

But at this time, the young man suddenly pointed his gun in my direction. Without warning, the young man pulled the trigger.

Through living in the forest, I have experienced danger, and my senses when it comes to killing intent, are very sensitive.

I have already felt the intent of the young man before the gun was pointed at my back. I knew what this person is planning, but I did not think that the young man would just shot me without asking any questions or talking.

Everyone stopped after hearing the sound of a gunshot.

The two burly men and the young woman turn their gazes in Xin Wei's direction. Dongfang Lin on the other hand had a sinister grin on his face.

"No witnesses… Hihi…" he said.
