ғᴏᴜʀᴛʜ sᴘᴇᴄɪᴀʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ.

She got the frozen apple slices from the fridge and placed two slices on Little Fuyu's plate. The little one quickly got her share and started eating it. Her tiny hands kept the apple slice near her mouth and since it is a little frozen, it helps her gums. She looked at it but then, she giggled when she saw the man sitting on the chair in front of her. He smiled at her and watched Little Fuyu enjoy her apple slices. 

Gia turned her head to look at her daughter and smiled when she was enjoying her favorite fruit. She went back on cleaning the dishes but she stopped when she realized that the little one's eyes are still dark red. Her heart started to beat so fast when she heard the doorbell ringing. It is already late night. Who else it will be? 

She placed a kiss on Little Fuyu's crown and went to the door to see who was their visitor. She opened it and saw her new neighbor. She let out a sigh of relief and smiled softly. They are only staying in an apartment building. It is much better and comfortable for them because they don't need a huge space. 

"Our shop got some leftover cakes. I thought you and Fuyu-chan would want some." Her new neighbor named Yamasho said while smiling. He handed her the small box and she completely opened the door for him. 

"You know she can't eat sweets yet. Do you want coffee?" She asked after closing the door behind him. 

"Yes, thank you. Oh, right. I'll bring her some fruits next time. Compensation for the cakes she missed eating because she is still a tiny baby." He laughed softly and they proceeded to the living room. 

She quickly went back to the kitchen and prepared coffee for them. She also got plates and forks for the cakes. She placed the tray on the coffee table and Yamasho opened the box. They heard Little Fuyu giggling loudly at the kitchen, so she went back there and carried her to the living room. He waved his hand and smiled widely. 

"Hello there, Fuyu-chan. You got some apples there. Can you give me some?" He opened his palm but the little one stuck her tongue out and bit the apple slice. 

"Fuyu-chan!" Gia's eyes widened at her daughter's actions and this made her a little nervous because of her eyes and she's not wearing any sunglasses. 

"I only got strawberry shortcake and chocolate mousse. It is already melting. We should eat it now." He immediately took the slice of chocolate mousse cake and put it on the plate. 

"Fuyu-chan can have the strawberries for tomorrow. I'll put it in the fridge later." She smiled while taking the last slice of chocolate mousse cake. 

"Whenever you are taking these home, are they charging you or are they deducting it from your salary?" She asked and he got a small piece. 

"It is our incentive whenever we already reach the quota for the day but most of the time, all cakes and other sweets are sold out." He said and he took a sip from his mug of coffee. 

"So, it's a lucky day today because you got some to take home." He smiled and nodded. He looked at Little Fuyu and saw her dark red eyes. 

He saw in his peripheral vision that her father was standing at the side and watching them but he didn't let Gia notice that he could see him. He brought up another topic to distract her. He can't point out that he can see Fuyu's dark red eyes or else, she will know that he is not a human. Indeed, the time frame of the human world is much different from the time frame of the underworld. 

Gia went to the kitchen to put the remaining cake in the fridge. He carefully carried Little Fuyu in his arms and stared at her. She will grow up soon and she will be his wife once she turns eighteen. Her mind is battling between wanting her to grow up fast and letting her enjoy childhood with her mother. With the current king of the underworld, they will only suffer and he can't afford to make her suffer more once she is crowned as the princess. 

Once he goes back to the underworld, the mother and the daughter's memories of meeting him will be erased. He only got one human week to stay there and it is not enough for him to see his future wife growing up. It can't be helped. The current king will find out that he is doing things without him knowing. As long as she is not yet eighteen, he should see Fuyu as a child. 

It was already ten when he decided to go back to his apartment. He closed the door behind him and changed his clothes into black ones. He is thankful that he became part of Fuyu's childhood even though she will not be able to have memories of it. He turned around and saw the real king sitting on the couch. 

"I'm happy to see them." The real king whispered and he nodded. He clearly understood what he felt. 

"Even though we know that they need me to be there, as Fuyu's father and a husband to Gia, we know we can't do it." The older one continued and heaved a sigh. 

"We must endure, my king. It is for their safety. They will understand us someday." Yamasho said and he smiled faintly. 

"You know how much I wish I'm a human instead of the king of the underworld, Sho." He said and he just nodded once again.
