Of course, this is still my story. I feel like it's about to end right now though.
The bird-guy stared at me like I was a frozen chicken nugget, waiting to be fried and eaten.
"Something's wrong with your body."
He chuckled and all the pressure wore off. I stood weakly and my knees shook. The fear that I had was phenomenal, I thought I was about to die then. I couldn't even turn to look at Three because my body froze, but her knees fell just now, and I bet that she was also affected by that.
"I'm not an unreasonable person, but seeing that you want to join the Beast God's church and have a special case, why don't I take you inside for a while?"
Special case?
Three moved in front of me at that same moment and circulated golden light on her body that I was familiar with.
"Hold my hand!"
Once her preparations were done, along with me inside a barrier, she quickly turned around-----
*Crash!*
---and the barrier broke in an instant.
"A mere small Vates dare show off? Wow. *clap clap*"
The bird guy held Three on the neck and lifted her up...
"Wait! I'll go inside. Please... leave her."
A few seconds passed, Three was already struggling breathing, and was dropped to the ground, and coughed. I quickly ran and supported her.
"You're a smart boy. I just want to check what's inside you, and then you fellows can go. I'm in a good mood today, and it's still good enough that you didn't spoil it."
Do you have to talk a lot?
Let's get it over with.
I looked at Three and told her not to worry and I'll be back soon. It's still morning anyway.
The bird-guy luckily waited for us to finish our conversation, and led me inside.

"I don't believe you're just a kid. We have members in our clan that had a small body, aged a hundred, and still was considered a child. But he wasn't stupid, of course. It's just that our lifespan can reach a thousand years."
We were walking on the corridors inside one of the green colored buildings inside the Civil Corps building. The bird-guy just kept on speaking, until I reacted to that one sentence at the end.
"A thousand years? Almost like an immortal?"
"An immortal? Hah... Only the gods know what being an immortal is like, and they haven't even lived over a hundred thousand years."
He looked at me as if waiting a follow up question. Since I have a lot of questions, might as well just fire them all at someone who might know a lot of them.
"Do you mean that the three gods aren't immortal?"
"Yes, of course. There is an upper limit to everything, probably even this world. Who knows? There's also another person reaching their level if I'm correct, and I met her already once and almost got my life forfeit."
"Is it the Merchant Union's owner?"
"Not quite, but they know each other. The owner of that fancy shop keeper's friend is also a bit strong, but not as strong as I am I bet!"
Is he just flaunting off his prowess?
"Can we probably introduce each other now?"
The bird-guy stopped walking and looked at me for a moment, then continued ahead.
"My name is not renowned at these parts, since I'm just an aide for the Beast God. My name is Virol. I know you since the humans in the other town has put up wanted posters on my stay there. Just exactly what is it that you did that you made them frantic like that..."
Hearing that made my heart skip a beat. Is he...
"I'm not going to take you back, but I'm rather curious about you wanting to enter the Beast God's church actually. It's called Civil Corps for a reason, and it's strange that it's not a church like Hamion's. You'll know ahead when we enter the altar.
After that he didn't speak as eager as earlier, but we slowly sped up and the pace was quite tiring and before I started to sweat, we found a small door with a large wall that surrounded it. It would be probably as big as half the building that we went in. There were some guards, and after seeing the bird-guy, he saluted and opened the door with a special key.
Why the security here was so weak made me wonder what's inside.
Upon opening, there was a small stair that led upwards to the side, and the ceiling was dark, but the end of the hallway had a sort of green and purplish barrier that intertwined.
Virol walked ahead and passed through the barrier without any issues so I also just walked normally. After my head passed through the barrier, I was stunned by the blinding light that instantly greeted my eyes.
After adapting to the light, I could see that there was no person in place, only us, and a large floating rock with a surrounding ring at the end of the room. Then Virol was calling to me at the center of the room.
Above of it, were flames of rainbow color, flashing endlessly, alternating, intertwining, dancing like a sea of waves yet not clashing with each other. If it was not a fireworks show then it wouldn't be a stretch to call it that, yet I knew that it wasn't because of the large azure bird that had its three heads lay low.
As if sensing my stare, the three heads simultaneously woke up with widened eyes, each eye different from the other, while the seventh eye was slowly forming from a rainbow colored feather on the forehead of the middle one.
I just got reborn for four years and I'm already seeing the final boss!?
"Come closer."
My feet move on its own as I obeyed the voice that came from above. Did it speak inside my head?
I knelt down at once when I reached a good distance.
"Kaff Eric... Greets the Beast God."
"Everyone that becomes a member of the Civil Corps comes here once, and enters never again."
(I am an exception!)
I could hear Virol whispering from the background. If I could hear you, then so could this Beast God!
"I have three aides, and Virol is one of them. They can enter as they will. I have heard from Hamion, that a special child has took in his blessing, and he thought that to be you. It hasn't occurred in my thoughts that I would meet you here at this improper time and place..."
Hamion? He knows people from just a mark? Is he a database? In any case...
"Why does the Beast God think that I am special as the Human God Hamion ought to be?"
The Beast God's eyes seem to open wider for a second, and became normal after.
"Have you seen a four year old calculate Gemmatria in a glance? Understanding and speech beyond a child? Able to stand on pressure? Unaffected by curses?" Unaffected by all sorts of powers? Answer me Virol."
"In my four hundred years of lifetime, never have I seen one yet, milord."
The words that the Beast God shook me greatly. I feel like I've been found out even when I didn't even do any wrongs. Why do I have this bad feeling?
***
(Nye nye we've found out that you're from another world! Blablabla all gods, give him your blessings and let him fight the oncoming calamity in our stead!
I, this #1 god, give you my blessing. Go fight the demons!
I, this #2 god, give you my blessing. Go fight the devils!)
***
I heard the Beast God give a faint sigh, but because of his being, the sigh instead felt like a cold wind sweeping my mind.
"Such a pity though, you lack the very foundation of power. I've scanned through your circumstances; The item inside your body can't be removed as it's stuck to one of your important organs. As a human, removing it is detrimental. Being a friend of Hamion, and you being one of his baptized child, I ought to give you a blessing but alas...!"
"Does the Beast God mean that... There is no other form of power that I can acquire?"
"That I said not, but that your body's internal structure is jumbled and cannot be fathomed. It is a waste of natural talent. Over the years that we're alive, only a few humans had your abilities of exact math and being unaffected by curses. Being unaffected by powers, that is unique to yours but since you can't use any... I can only give you my blessing, to show that you're a friend of our Beast race."
The Beast God let out a strange bird's cry and all seven eyes and seven colors of flames converged in front of him and formed a pair of rainbow feathers. I took one and ate it, while the other I kept inside one of my pockets for now.
Time passed for a while, and the place became quiet.
The Beast God then told me that I wasn't required to be a member of the Civil Corps, but also told me to make my baptism from him a secret. Virol then told me that they would send a gift of the same value of the item I swallowed for the house of Flairfly, to compensate for what I took from them.
After that I asked if I could enter as I will and the Beast God permitted it and gave me a gray colored feather.
Seeing that, Virol flaunted his own gray feather, we bade farewell to the Beast God, and then went out.
I saw Three outside, with a bit of worry on her face, she rushed and carried me, pouting at Virol, and quickly ran away.
Knowing that Virol isn't exactly an enemy, I just let her carry me as she ran until we found a place to eat. It was only noon anyway.
I explained to her every bit of what happened except for the fact that I've been baptized, and she was also saddened by the truth that I can't use any power.
Feeling pity from all of them I also started to wonder if I could somehow just discover a way for me to have some sort of power, so that I wouldn't be so useless.
The least I could be happy about is that I didn't have to stress about going home right now, as we've been away from home for quite a bit, so I told Three that we should go home right away tomorrow, and that we should prepare later before sleeping.
She was quite sad too, that our adventure was about to end from there.

---Inside the Beast God's altar---
"Milord, why didn't you tell him about what the god Hamion really said? Is there a reason why you decided to hamper his own power?"
"You don't know this yet, but there is another soon-to-be god from the side of the Humans. One that doesn't require a source power, and doesn't require to mark other people just to gather faith from them."
"You mean that person..."
"That very fourth god is already a threat to the balance between us humans and beasts, what more if another one were to appear? And also a human at that. If they were to become enemies with us then I fear our race will become open for plunder and slaughter once again."
"But I don't understand, these things seem to be unrelated to the child at this point of time."
"I can tell you about it now then. His power..."

Two suns. Dawn was the only moment that I could see that this world had two suns.
"Hey, don't stare at the suns too much. They'll fry your eyes in no time." Dorother then quickly covered my eyes and pulled me.
"It's beautiful though, why can't I look at it for just a bit more?"
"Aaaahhhh! Just do as you like. I want to eat another Origin Fruit when I get home."
Both suns rose as we went towards the carriage that ferried people from town to town.
I took a final look at this city before riding on the carriage, departing.
"Kaff?"
A familiar voice called to me in front while at our seats.
A man took off his hood and I saw someone I was looking for.
"Dad!"
I suddenly had the urge to cry as I didn't have parents in my previous life, and in this life, I treasure them.
Quickly standing up and rushing to hug him, he opened his eyes wide and his familiar voice and firm hands made me a bit more emotional and teared up a bit. Instead of scolding me like mom, he has this kind nature and just kept quiet instead while patting my head.
I finally finished reminiscing the moment and wiped my slightly teary eyes, then I hear Three slightly gasping.
"Ni-nice to meet you. I'm Dorother Flairfly of the Flairfly house...!"
"Why are you so flustered? Nice to meet you too. I hope my son didn't bother you."
"No no no, not at all. He's been always helpful to me instead!"
I wonder why Three is getting flustered, it definitely isn't normal for a young lady like her to be like this. My dad just smiled in reply and told me to go back in my seat. At least this time, we'll all be together again.
Looking at Three beside me, she still seems to be in a fluster. I wonder what the fuss is all about?
