Chapter 7 Family Discussion

After the beating- training, Rex had a good morning lunch with his parents.

"Wow pops! This is really good!" Rex said. He didn't know that Yato was a good cook. Yesterday's dinner and lunch were prepared by Sebas but he went somewhere so it was Yato's job to cook. He always had a unique sense of taste and smell whether in this life or the previous one. Rex himself was a good cook in his previous life but had several chefs for it since he was mostly busy with his research and machines.

"Hehe, you should also learn to cook. Girls like a man who can cook good food~" Yato said raising a brow looking at Bisha who blushed.

"Really? Then I will learn cooking." Rex said with a smile.

Bisha shook her head and smiled. She was happy seeing her son smiling like this. She always prioritized her hero profession and neglected the growth of her first son. She got pregnant at just the age of 20 when she just started her career as a pro and Yato her support partner. She was afraid that she can't become a hero again but Yato reassured her that he will raise their son so she can focus on her ambition of being a pro hero. Finally, their first son was born however he was quirkless but despite that, they supported him in his dream of becoming a scientist. Just like that, 8 years passed when she got pregnant again. She was not ungrateful but not too happy either. She was at rank 4th at that time but again Yato sacrificed his ambition to support her.

She was happy and sad that she was dumping every responsibility on her husband like that. Things changed on Rex's 4thbirthday when he became unresponsive. Bisha was terrified if something happened to her son, she won't be able to forgive herself. She wanted to retire but she was already the number 2 hero and with public and friend demand she continued being a hero. However, everything has changed when her son was kidnapped and become a biomechanical monster.

On that day, she realized how useless she was. Her being number 2 hero was just for show. She couldn't save her son when he was in danger. If not for Rex's quirk manifesting at that time, he would have died. She knew the importance of her family. She realized the importance of her family. How much they are dear to her. She then said goodbye to her hero career and decided to spent time with her family.

"..om Mom."

"Ah y-yes, what is it, Rex?" she snapped out from her thoughts when she heard Rex calling her.

"What were you thinking?" Yato asked.

"Nothing. Rex, what do you want to ask?"

"Hmm, are pro heroes this strong?"

"Yup. Did you remember All Might? He the strongest hero in Japan and one of the strongest in the world. He can clear the sky with his punches."

"H-how is that possible?" Rex's mouth was wide open.

"Yeah, it is the same with me kid. Top pro heroes are mon- strongest in the world. Law of physics doesn't apply to them." Yato said the added, "Your mom was number 2 pro hero. Her strength is nearly as strong as All Might, in her armor."

Bisha spilled her coffee when she heard her husband praising her.

"Really? That's so cool but I heard you resigned from your position, why?"

"I am fed up with this. I have already neglected your big brother and I am not gonna do the same thing to you, Rex."

"It's okay, mom. I can handle myself. You don't have to sacrifice your career for me." Rex said with an apologetic tone. 'Please leave dad and me alone so that we can do some research together.' Rex thought and both Rex and Yato smirked.

"I was prepared for this and won't change my decision," Bisha said. She knew what her son was up to with her innocent-looking face. "There is something I want to discuss with you, Rex."

Rex nodded then after lunch they sat down at the table again.

"Rex, let me clear with you. Your quirk is the combination of Yato's Technopathy and my Reequip. You have read from the book that each quirk is a single ability, right?" Bisha asked to which Rex nodded. "But there is more to it. You should know that some quirks are special. They give extra perks like healing and extra strength. I also have regenerative power while your dad can also perform various tricks from his quirk." Bisha said then nodded at Yato.

"My Technopathy is somewhat… unique. I can use this not only on machines but on human nerves too. For example, I could see what type of quirk someone has, can lock and unlock too. Kinda like Shota-chan." Yato said with a wink. "He is a new hero who graduated from UA and was a trainee in your mom's hero firm."

'Does that mean I can do that too? It kind of looks like EVO curing… Wait, Rex could tell that whether an EVO can be cured or not. I have got the Quirk Observation ability to know what type of quirk opponent possess. I think I can also lock, unlock, and even absorb quirks.' Rex thought.

Bisha and Yato then became serious.

"Rex, here comes the downside of these powers. When we were at your age, both of our quirks were highly depend on emotions. For example, I went berserk when I was at UA High because one of my friends was killed." Bisha said.

"Same here, Rex. My quirk went wild when I was in the car and mom was driving. I got into an argument with my mom and became angry. However, my quirk gone out of control and our car crashed into a pole. I survived but my mom got severe injuries. She died a month after that." Yato said.

Rex looked down hearing about their story.

"The same incident happened to you, right?" Bisha asked and Rex nodded. "But why are we telling all of this? These abilities are like a double edge sword. Believe me; what happened to us was a regular occurrence for 10% of the population who has an aggressive type of quirks. So Rex…" Bisha said then held Rex's hand. "Whether you want to become a hero or not, I will be training you. I and your dad are strong and can protect you but there is no one better than yourself protecting you."

Rex first was looking at them before he sighed and nodded. He knew how painful it was to felt helpless. He, who survived WW3 for many years, people dying was a normal occurrence for him. Even those who survived like him were envious of those helpless people who died and gain peace while they have to survive in a hellish world.

"It's okay, I can understand," Rex said.

"Good. It's decided then. In addition to your daily exercise, I will be teaching you combat from first Monday to Wednesday while Yato will teach you swordsmanship for the other three days. Sunday is free so you can do whatever you want." Bisha said with an enthusiastic tone.

"Yahoo!" Rex became happy.

"Training will start from 5 am till 7 am and will train again till 1 pm. Since you are a child, you will train till 11 am. Sounds good right? Now come to the training ground."

"Oh my god!" Rex became depressed. Bisha and Yato laughed but it didn't stop Bisha to halt her sweet time with her son.
