Bad Parenting

"Kian! Wait, listen to me!", Elian yelled, as he chased the omega who continued to flounce his way up the dark staircase of the apartment building disregarding his words completely.

Elian however couldn't comprehend why Kian was so enraged. He was sure that neither of them liked that dingy hole. It was probably one of the filthiest places he himself had ever been to.

Was he really at fault for offending that prude old man that had repeatedly insulted his Uncle?

As the two reached the door of the apartment Kian pushed it open, and slammed it shut right away, almost slapping it on the face of the man that was following him.

The commotion had caught Will's attention who was sitting on the couch with a bowl of noodles in his hand and a book in his lap. He watched Kian make a beeline to the bedroom, ignoring the billionaire who was knocking on the door, that he had just slammed so loudly that it almost scared the shit out of the younger omega.

Will got up on his feet, walked to the door timidly and opened it to let the man in. "Thanks, Will", Elian said, sighing, in his deep voice and Will nodded, shyly in response. "Did you guys fight?", he asked, feebly. "Well, not exactly", the alpha responded, stepping inside the apartment.

The two heard the stomping of the feet, as Kian made his way from the bedroom to kitchen, filling up a glass of water, and swallowing a couple pills from his hand, down his throat.

As Will closed the door behind them, Elian walked over in his direction, "Look, I didn't mean to interfere. I was just trying to help", he persuaded.

The omega didn't bother looking at him., "How exactly were you trying to help me?", he asked.

"I just didn't think that place was good for you. I'm pretty sure you feel the same way, but you weren't saying anything so I-", he tried to explain but was interrupted.

"Since when do you get to decide what's good for me? What made you think you are entitled to interfere with my business?", Kian's tone was more serious this time. He wasn't being sarcastic or just snappy. He was really asking him.

Elian couldn't think of a single reason why he did what he did back there. He'd never been the kind of person to give uninvited opinions. He was never even inquisitive enough to keep up with his friend's and family's personal lives. On the contrary he hated such behavior. Most of his previous relationships had ended because the girls he was dating tried crossing their limits, prying about his past.

So why did getting involved feel so comfortable when it came to Kian? Why did he feel so enraged by that man's words that were directed towards the omega or when his hand disgustingly rubbed on his shoulder? It's not like he was his..boyfriend or anyone for that matter. He was only there because of the baby right? He thought to himself.

In the midst of the awkward silence, Will stood frozen in his place, nervously watching the two, like a child watching his parents having a heated argument.

It was a little embarrassing for Elian, getting scolded by a young boy. He gathered his mind, trying to reason out of the situation. "I..I didn't like the way he talked to you. He was degrading you for your gender. He is not a good person, Kian", he said.

Kian raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "Really? So you liked it when you called me a 'gold digging slut' after you discovered my gender?", Kian pointed his finger towards himself as he asked with his voice louder this time.

Elian felt like someone punched him in his chest. "I'm sorry about that", he said, shutting his eyes.

"I don't care for your apology, okay? It doesn't mean anything to me", Kian scrunched his eyebrows, "Do you have any idea how many people just reject me to my face, without bothering to ask anything else after they find out that I'm an omega?", he said, as his face grew angrier by the second.

"It took a lot of effort to convince that man, alright? Me and Uncle Lee knew what kind of man he was and I agreed nevertheless because guess what, I don't have a lot of options", he scolded. "I mean it must be hard for you to understand that since you had to go through such a privileged life. You don't care about what you do, you can just say sorry afterwards. Especially to someone like me. Afterall this must appear insignificant and trivial in comparison to your multi billionaire shit!", the omega snapped.

Elian kept staring at the boy, without uttering a word in response, even though he knew that it wasn't true. He didn't think that Kian's work was 'insignificant', not even once.

"Is that how you were brought up? Is that what your parents taught you? That normal people like me don't matter?", he leaned forward, scornfully raising his eyebrows.

"Kian, that's enough", Will interrupted. Knowing that his friend wasn't the type of person who kept up with celebrity gossip or news in general, he was scared that he might be getting off on the wrong foot here.

The omega however didn't listen, "I don't mean to be offensive but considering that you'll probably just follow in their footsteps with this whole terrible parenting thing, don't you think you should probably stop wasting my time and just not have this baby?", he scoffed.

"Kian, seriously STOP!", Will shouted, suddenly, making the omega look at him.

Kian stared at Will, angrily, "What the fuck has happened to you?! Can't you at least act like you're my friend?!", the omega retaliated.

Will turned to look at Elian who was blankly looking at Kian, while who stood frozen in his place. "Elian?", he asked timidly, looking at the alpha's expressionless face, scared that he might burst into flames any moment.

The alpha didn't utter a word in response. He sighed after a few seconds. Looked around the apartment, as if something was on in his head. "I'll be back in a while", he said under his breath, walked back to the door and left.

"What on earth has happened to you Kian!?!", Will gave an exasperated sigh, "You've become rude!", he complained and stomped inside the bedroom, closing the door behind him, while Kian watched, astonished.
