Cholera, the Walking Sickness

At first, I just thought it was more sludge that needed to leave my body. It was only when my reticule grazed my knee:

What? Hadn't I succeeded my resistance check?

How had it even infected me? Why hadn't my System alerted me?

I had more urgent things than wrestling with my System just then.

Cholera, you see, is sometimes called the Walking Sickness. You can be walking around in the morning, as I was, and be dead before sunset. My mild case might not stay mild for long.

I finished my business, as well as I was able with the disease working on my intestines.

As I had said, it was a long walk to the river. I expelled fluids from both ends, as the saying goes.
