Stussy

The next couple days went simply

Zeus got up kissed Bonney and went to work on the construction site. Since all the assassins were gone, it went a little slower than last time but only by a little. Katakuri and the rest of the new recruits would pass by every now and then, they were stunned that Zeus was actually working with the construction workers.

They thought Zeus did nothing all day and they did all the work. A hint of respect appeared in their hearts, obviously a boss like this cared about his employees. Of course Zeus did, without them he would just be one person. He truly felt like them were his family.

Since the beginning, he never thought he would get this far at all. He thought that he would have to constantly check over his shoulder to see if anyone was acting out of line, but he was unexpectedly surprised that they weren't like that at all!

When they insisted on coming with him to the second deal on Punk Hazard, he had been feeling a lot closer to them. Actually, Zeus pretty much did treat them as family. He was cold on the outside but warm on the inside, but that didn't mean Zeus was a super nice person to everyone. He knew who he could trust and who he couldn't, which was why whenever he went out to meet people he would be extremely ruthless, unless he knew them.

Anyway, days passed like this until the assassins came back.

Zeus was sitting in his chair smoking as he listened to the report from Lucci and Persephone. Zeus tapped on the table rhythmically and said "Where is she?" Lucci looked helpless and said "Tied up in the cells. She refuses to say anything."

Zeus nodded and said "The rest?" Persephone said "Dead." Zeus nodded and stood up saying "Good." he didn't have a shirt on, since he came directly from the construction site, he only had his jumpsuit with the sleeves tied around his waist, sneakers, and his hat.

Persephone blushed slightly and Zeus walked out saying "Go to the construction site and help out, also the new recruits are here. Get acquainted with them." before waving over his shoulder and blurring before disappearing directly.

Zeus reappeared in the underground docks. He left a trail of smoke behind him as the staff saluted as he walked by. Zeus nodded in acknowledgement and sneered at the toys before walking into the destroyer, he might not know who the toys were but he knew what Sugar's ability was and he knew the orders he gave.

He wondered if she turned Pinky into a toy, would he remember him? Most likely, from his last life's memories but he would forget every interaction with him in this life. That was Zeus' theory anyway, and it was a fact in actuality.

Zeus forgot about them and stepped into the brig where the holding cells were, dragging a chair with him.

Stussy heard the scraping of wood against wood before Zeus appeared in her sight. Zeus pulled the chair up and sat down before taking a drag and exhaling a mouthful of smoke. Stussy was silent and Zeus waved "I did say that I would let you be extremely well acquainted with the seakings. I suppose you thought I was joking?"

Stussy sneered "Do you know what you've done? You completely threw the balance of the Underworld off! Do you know what kind of chaos will occur?!" Zeus slammed his hand against the bars and sneered "You think I give a fuck about keeping the balance of the underworld?! There can only be one King! Emperors don't exist in MY underworld."

Stussy paled and said "You're a mad man!" Zeus sneered and said "Perhaps I am. As we speak my forces are swallowing all the Emperors', including yours. They're also weeding out the government agents. I'm wiping the Underworld clean, no more marines, no more government. Only Tartarus."

Stussy backed away in fear, he was completely crazy. What he was talking about was impossible, this title would be even more powerful than the Pirate King! He might've been crowned on his bounty but it didn't mean he was the Underworld King in actuality!

Stussy shook her head and said "You're crazy! The World Government will suppress you!" Zeus sneered even harder and said "They don't even know where I am. How are they going to suppress me? Furthermore, since when was I afraid of the Government? They can stop some of my business, but what would that matter? Who would buy from them? I'm not selling to them either, are they going to force me to sell?"

Zeus grinned madly and said "I'll vaporize every man, woman, and child in Marie Joie if they provoke me, do you believe it?" Stussy shivered and felt that Zeus was extremely dangerous, she should have gone back to report but she severely underestimated him. As did the Government, if they knew his ambitions it wouldn't be a joke any more, it would be a full scale search!

Stussy took a deep breath and said semi-fearfully "What do you want from me?" Zeus smiled and said "I want you to join! Be the Pleasure Queen of my red-light district. There are only benefits!"

Stussy burst out laughing and said "You want me to work for you? Impossible! My loyalty is to the government!" Zeus chuckled eerily, giving Stussy a terrible feeling, her feeling was proven to be right when Zeus pulled out a snail and said, while making eye contact with Stussy "Bring Pudding to the destroyer holding cells."

Stussy's pupils shrank and she struggled in the cuffs, only to fail and struggle in vain. She couldn't escape, nor could she kill Zeus. She was stuck, finished. Her only thoughts were suicide now, Zeus sighed and said "Don't worry, I will release your collar from you. I will make the government pay a hefty price."

Stussy felt nothing and laid on the ground weakly, thinking about her fate. Zeus didn't feel bad, for what? He spoke up "I know you won't speak but I'll take a guess. You were in the government since birth correct?" Stussy didn't move and Zeus continued "I'll assume that you agreed. I wonder if you've ever seen your parents?" he paused and said "Well, I will find out anyway. Perhaps you're even a virgin despite being the Pleasure Queen."

Stussy trembled and Zeus grinned "Relax, I have a wife. Truthfully, I haven't ever lied to you. Anyway, I assume you've never met your parents. Don't you find this odd? How could it be that you have no parents? Where did you come from? A lab? Impossible."

Zeus exhaled a mouthful of smoke as he said "Here's the thing that neither you, nor any of the other agents know." Zeus leaned in and said "Your parents? Most likely just cattle the World Government raises to breed assassins like you. Once they served their purposes they're killed. The Government doesn't care about you. Have you heard anything that even hinted to the fact that they were looking for you?"

Zeus sat back and shook his head as he said "You're a pawn. A throwaway, expendable asset. You don't have a name, only a number. The only thing that matters to those 5 old bastards is staying alive. What peace? What balance? The only thing they want is absolute power so that they can sit on top and prolong their lives by whatever means possible. Haven't you ever wondered why the Government doesn't just send the 5 retards out by themselves and eliminate a threat?"

Stussy finally looked up and Zeus continued "Because with expendables like you why would they even take a single chance with their own lives? The 5 that sit on top and whoever sits above them simply don't have the necessary life span to even move anymore. Let me tell you, I was stunned hearing this from my spies! Truly!"

Zeus shook his head and said "Why sit on top for so long? What's the point of living if you are alone? There's no challenge, no change, nothing to shake me. They don't even have lovers or wives, no children. What is the point of a life like that?"

Stussy finally uttered "What about yourself? Aren't you doing the same?" Zeus smiled and waved his finger as he said "I will allow organizations to compete with me, but I will crush them myself. It gives me a thrill. Eventually Tartarus will fall as everything does with time, even with the option to live forever I would decline."

Zeus took a drag and had a distant look in his eyes "The meaning of life... What is it really?" Stussy was startled, she never thought about it. Zeus continued, regardless of Stussy's thoughts "Isn't it different for every person? My meaning is to keep my family and friends safe, no matter what. For others it could be teaching, or ruling, or just living freely."

Zeus made an extremely carefree smile, it filled Stussy's eyes, and he vaporized his cigarette in his hand and sprinkled the ashes in the air "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Eventually everything; you, me, the lands, the seas, the people, the animals, the sun, the sky. turn to dust and a new world is born. What are we really? I don't care about how long Tartarus will stay on top."

Zeus waved and said "Even if it collapses before I die, I have no problems. I know that I lived my life the way I wanted up until now and I'm happy with it. Can you say the same?" Stussy's mind was muddled, of course she couldn't. She never did what she wanted to do, she always followed orders.

Zeus struck the iron while it was hot and leaned in close as he whispered "What do YOU want to do? What does Stussy want, not the CP0 agent, the woman." Stussy heard the devil's whispers and thought about herself, what did she want really, what made her excited.

She really didn't have much, all she knew was that killing was boring. She hated following Nobles and heeding to their every demand, she wanted to do something for herself.

Pudding walked into the holding cell and Zeus smiled as he said "How do you like it?" Pudding nodded excitedly "It's amazing! So beautiful!" Zeus smiled softly and said "How do you like the new restaurant? It was made specifically for you anyways."

Pudding had stars in her eyes as she said "It's the best! I always wanted a restaurant!" Zeus smiled and turned to Stussy as he said "See? Pudding is living the life she wants as well. Away from her mother who treats her like a tool. How is her situation any different from yours? All you have to do is let go of the control and shackles the Government put on you." Zeus opened the cell and brought Stussy with him as he left.

Stussy said "I thought you were going to wipe me?" Zeus said "I changed my mind. I'll give you a deal." He stood in front of Pudding and said "You have three options. 1 I wipe your memories of the government and put happy ones instead and force you to work for me." Stussy's face turned ugly, that wasn't really an option, more like pseudo slavery.

Zeus chuckled and said "Exactly what you're thinking. That's what the original plan was, but now you have more options. 2 Stay here on the island for a while and have a look around the actual city, maybe you'll find something you want to do with your life. This option I don't do anything to you but you can't escape."

Zeus paused and chuckled "Well you can try, I won't stop you but as soon as you step off the island and onto the sea. I will hunt you down personally and you will become like option 1. Keep in mind, I can find you wherever you run, I guarantee it with my life. If you manage to get back to Marie joie I will turn myself in."

Stussy was startled and Zeus added "If you so much as even look at a snail, you're out of options and I guarantee you will live a life worse than death. Not matter if you managed to make a call or not." Stussy trembled and Zeus smiled as he said "I have to keep the peace of my island after all, I don't want the civilians to get hit in the crossfires. That's the difference between me and the government, I will never kill innocents to achieve my goals. Unlike those disgusting pigs that will sink an entire island for one person."

Zeus was visibly disgusted and nearly spit right on the floor. Stussy was silent and Zeus said "Your last option is I have the cute little Pudding here erase every memory of our encounter, from your capture till now. I drop you off on a random island and you continue on with your life as you would have lived it, a tool for the government until you breed the next generation of agents and are killed yourself."

Zeus gave Stussy a demonic grin and said "Please choose, Stussy. Your fate is in your hands." Stussy didn't answer but asked "If I choose 2 but ultimately decide to leave after the time is up, what happens?" Zeus shrugged and said "Option 3. I erase all the memories from your capture until you leave."

Zeus got uncharacteristically serious as he added "I need to keep my citizens safe, I can't afford to gamble with their lives because of you. Which is why if you pick option 2 you will not have any snail contact. I have eyes everywhere on this island and if necessary I will watch over you myself. At all times. Even if you go to the bathroom. You might not think your action will have any consequences but I know that this island and it's people will be devastated by a single buster call."

Zeus voice turned ice-cold "These people did nothing to you. Why would you take their lives, for what? A pissing contest? I have better things to do than compare dicks with the World Government. The people on my island are untouchable, If I hear even a suspicion that you were attempting to make contact you can kiss your human life good-bye."

Stussy shivered and nodded, Zeus was still cold as ice as he said "I really hope you understand. If even a single man, woman, or child is harmed I will devastate the entirety of Marie Joie then kill every agent I see. I will hunt them down like a fox in the forest, do you believe it?"

Stussy nodded again and Zeus uncuffed her before bringing her with him, he rubbed Pudding's head and said "Sorry to make you come all this way Pudding." Pudding smiled and said "No worries! Just make my restaurant more beautiful!" before giggling.

Zeus smiled and said "No problem. Go back to what you were doing." Pudding nodded with a smile and hummed as she skipped away, thinking about her restaurant.

Stussy just watched and looked around as Zeus brought her out of the underground port and into the city. Zeus showed her around the city in it's entirety, everything except the Underworld parts. He was actually taking a very safe gamble with Stussy, everything was calculated. If she didn't listen he would turn her into a toy and if she chose to leave he would wipe everything about Abyss Island from her memory.

He wasn't joking when he said that he didn't want the civilians to be hurt for no reason. He put too much time and effort into the Island for it to crumble like that. The civilians were the biggest part of the Island, without them it would still be the barren mountain range it was before.

The civilians on the side waved at Zeus and some woman even boldly gave him flowers before running away. A little girl walked up and said "Big brother Zeus?" Zeus stopped and crouched as he said "Yes Amina?" Amina said softly "Are we getting a park to play at?" Zeus rubbed her head and said "Of course! It will be lots of fun! I promise!"

Amina brightened up and hugged Zeus before saying "You're the best!" Zeus patted her back and said "Go back to your mommy okay? Be a good girl." Amina smiled and skipped away. Stussy was stunned, for an Underworld King he sure was kind and gentle. It wasn't an act either, she could feel that Zeus genuinely cared for the people.

This made her think, he was so different when doing business but it seemed like he treated everyone in his organization and on Abyss Island with kindness and fairness. He didn't look like a ruthless Underworld Boss, but a gentle big brother. Her heart even skipped at beat at his warm smile, before she quickly suppressed it.

She was shocked at her own actions, when has she ever felt this way? Never was the answer, Stussy never felt love, affection, care. Despite her status and epithet, Zeus was right, she was still a virgin, she never even kissed a man before. What did she know about love?

Stussy's thoughts were a mess and Zeus walked into the courtyard before saying "This is the main attraction of the Island. I haven't named it but I sometimes hear the civilians calling it 'Immortal Lovers Courtyard'." Zeus chuckled and looked at the giant fountain with a smile, he often felt all his work paid off when he saw the smiles of the people around the Island.

They were genuine smiles, not fabricated smiles like Dress Rosa. The citizens despite what they may say, are, in fact, aware of the Island's roots. They all know that Zeus is a huge Underworld boss, but they simply didn't care. Whenever they saw Zeus, they saw him helping out and working around the construction site.

They were scared at first but after interacting with him changed their minds. He kept the island safe and worked hard to make it a nice place and that was all they needed. It also helped that Zeus was quite nice and often talked with the residents, sometimes even helping them if they were in a difficult spot.

It was also his kindness, that prompted the citizens to keep quiet about his identity. If asked normally they would deny it and play the fool. It wasn't just a single person, but everyone who would do it. This was one of the main reasons that Abyss Island had remained untouched for so long. Even people who left the island would say absolutely nothing about it to anyone.

That wasn't to say that nobody talked because it was inevitable for people to find out the truth. After all, Zeus was a wanted criminal. People die for wealth and birds die for food. There will always be someone greedy for Zeus' bounty, even if it was just a small percentage for just information.

That was the reason for the increase of agents roaming around Abyss Island but they never found anything, so they had no proof. All they had were rumors that floated around occasionally. This obviously wasn't enough to justify a buster call or a government raid at all. What's more, there were a ton of reporters around constantly, feeding information back to their organizations.

So even if the Government said 'fuck it' and attacked the news of an unprovoked attack from the government would be spread out the next day. That's not even including the fact whether they were successful or not.

As such, Zeus was not worried about the people spreading his name around. He definitely didn't want proof but that was what Void was for. To take care of the proof and make it disappear into a puff of smoke. Brulee captures them, Pudding checks their memories and depending on what they know, they either get their memories wiped or turned into toys and forgotten about by Sugar.

Zeus didn't take any chances at all. That was his main priority, 0% chance for failure.

Stussy looked around at the courtyard and was astonished. It really was beautiful, the fountain was simply perfect. She really felt like the name did the courtyard a justice, anything else and it wouldn't work.

Stussy strangely felt that staying here didn't really seem like a bad idea, she was immediately stunned by her own thoughts. Is this what happens when you let yourself go? She quickly shook her head, she was being held here against her own will.

Zeus smiled and said "That's everything. There's still construction going on but there are available houses for you to live in. There's a bank for you to withdraw from if you need and all the shops are on the streets we just passed." before turning around and walking away.

Stussy was startled and said "Just like that?" Zeus stopped and looked at the sky as he said "I'm giving you the option to change your life, I don't want to give you even more shackles. I don't care about you, I care about the people. If your help makes their lives better, then it's all worth it. Enjoy your stay." before continuing to walk away, leaving Stussy stunned.

Zeus walked back to the construction site and took off his shirt saying "Shiruton." Shiruton appeared right next to him and Zeus lit a cigarette before saying "Watch her like a hawk. Any moments that look suspicious, immediately report to me. If she makes a call, just take action, code 435."

Shiruton nodded and disappeared into a bunch of cards. Zeus grinned and waved at Isaac before chuckling "Boss, I'm back from my smoke break!" Isaac grunted "About time! Get to work!" Zeus chuckled and walked away to where he was working before saying "Yes boss."
