A lot of change had happened to Venusaur's stats. It had grinned a lot after the tide battle. Axel could imagine why it did it. Venusaur and Nidoking were the only ones that were left at the end of the tide before Charizard came for the rescue but Venusaur was only standing due to its healing abilities.

It had a lot of healing moves and it had very high defense. Even though it was fighting with a king-rank Pokemon for some time, it could survive due to its healing moves. However, when fighting with a king-rank Pokemon, its attacking moves were simply nonexistent. Axel could understand why that happened. 

To improve its foundation, Axel told it to focus mostly on healing and defensive-type moves. That was why, it never concentrated on attacking moves. It did have some powerful attacking moves like 'Solar beam' but that was it. It only had a few of them and they needed a lot of stamina to activate.

So now, Axel had decided to focus on its attacking moves too. He had been thinking about it for a long time but had not come up with a good idea.

So, he told it to concentrate on its existing attacking moves and it had done a great job in upgrading it. 

Axel had also told it to focus on 'Field control' and now it was level 60. This was the highest level move of Venusaur which showed how serious it was in this move.

Axel looked at its move description:

Leech Whip (Venusaur): (Level 40): Could heal serious wounds with enough time

 (Level 45): The power would be stored from vine whip and leech seed and then could be used to allies within 5 minutes.

Sunny day (Venusaur) (Level 40): Is more powerful than before.

 (Level 45): The effect can stay for 8 minutes. 

 (Level 50): The effect lasts for 13 minutes.

 (Level 55): More powerful and now have 2 sunny day

Synthesis (Venusaur): (Level 40): Can recover 40% of health.

 (Level 45): Can recover 50% of health.

 (Level 50): Can recover 55% of health.

Razor Leaf (Venusaur): (Level 40): The power and the area of the attack had increased massively

 (Level 45): Each of the leaves has become sharper and now has more penetrating power.

 (Level 50): The wounds created from Razor leaf would stay for quite a long time and the pain of the wound would be higher.

Vine whip (Venusaur): (Level 40): It could not use 6 vines to attack and manipulate. Before it could only use 2 vines.

 (Level 45): Can use the move independent from its body. Vine whip could now come from the grounds too. However, only 2 vines could be used for this method.

 (Level 50): Can use the move independent from its body. Vine whip could now come from the grounds too. However, only 4 vines could be used for this method.

Energy ball (Venusaur) (Level 40): The power of the energy ball had increased. It looked more concentrated and its power had almost doubled.

 (Level 45): The energy ball could now spin creating more power and pressure on the move which in turn would be more deadly.

 (Level 50): Can shoot out 4 small energy balls now.

Sleeping powder (Venusaur): (Level 40): The effect of the attack had increased. 

 (Level 45): Has an area effect.

 (Level 50): The effect of the move has increased.

Frenzy Plant (Venusaur): (Level 40): Don't need to recharge for the next turn. However, the power is massively reduced.

 (Level 45): Don't need to recharge for the next turn. However, the power is reduced.

 (Level 50): The attacking branch has multiple blades on the sides and it could bind the target.

Grass Pledge (Venusaur): (Level 40): These grass could come out of anywhere within a 5-meter radius. However, the pressure of the grass is reduced.

 (Level 45): These grass could come out of anywhere within the 10-meter radius. However, the pressure of the grass is reduced.

Field control (Venusaur): (Level 40): a mini version of Hashirama senju.

 (Level 45): Consumes less stamina.

 (Level 50): Could be used within a 20-meter radius. Before it was only 10 meters and the move has become faster. 

 (Level 55): Can use it to manipulate wood in any way. However, a lot of stamina is consumed.

 (Level 60): The speed of the move has increased a lot.

Poison powder (Venusaur): (Level 40): Has more penetrating power

 (Level 45): Has a good area effect.

 (Level 50): The effect of the move has increased.

 Solar beam (Venusaur) (Level 40): is more faster.

 (Level 45): Is more powerful and penetrating.

 (Level 50): could use 2 solar beams instead of one.

 (Level 55): The power of the move is instant.

Leech Seed (Venusaur): (Level 40): Can use 2 seeds simultaneously on 2 different Pokemons.

Grassy Terrain (Venusaur) (Level 40): It could now only heal Venusaur and not other Pokemons.

 (Level 45): The move would complement with 'Field control' and reduce the stamina consumption of 'Field control'.

 (Level 50): Destroy the grassy terrain after it has been cast but Venusaur would recover 50% of its health instantly. Cannot use the move for 1 day.

 Aromatherapy (Venusaur): (Level 40): Can cure middle-level status effect. Before it could only cure low-level status effects and had to do it more times to be more effective.

Restore (Venusaur) (Level 40): Could store and heal up to 40% of maximum health, one time.

 (Level 45): Could store and heal up to 50% of maximum health, at one time.

Wood Thorns (Venusaur) (Level 40): could affect 10 meter radius. Before it was only 5 meters.

 (Level 45): The speed of the move is instantaneous. The opponent would not notice it. 

 (Level 50): The tip of the thorns consists of poison which has a very high rate of getting the opponent poisoned.

Growth (Level 40): Increase the height and defense of the Pokemon.

 (Level 45): Restore a percentage of health too.

"Venusaur, I want to create a move for you. Come here for a second.", said Axel.

Hearing that it was going to learn a new move, it came rushing down. Its weight was shaking the ground a bit.

"Now listen very closely. The move is not very hard to accomplish. You need to create a large flower on the ground. The flower should be similar to the flower on your back. The flower would release 'Poison powder' and 'Sleeping powder' in large quantities.

Try using 'Field control' while doing it. It would take you some time but after training it with 'Field control', the move should be separate from 'Field control'."

"Venu.. Venusaur!!!", it roared with excitement. 

"The move may not be effective right now after creating it but I promise that it will be very helpful in the future. Try to create this move before we go out of here. 

Then we can concentrate on mastering your ability."

2 days before going to Aeus Island.

"Alright, all of you. Today is the day of battle. I have selected some common-rank Pokemons that would battle you and you have to win. Don't worry, I will be assisting you in this."

Arcon, Togepi, Bagon, Totodile, and Mankey were now ready to fight their first Pokemon battle.

They had only been training this past month. They had focused on training their body stats and moves. Axel also told them to concentrate on their ability training too. 

Today was the time for the test.

This was going to be a trainer battle. The first trainer was going to be Frank himself. He had a Croagunk and it was now 4 and a half months old. It was a perfect battle partner for his Pokemons.

The second trainer was Liza. She was the granddaughter of Gyro, the owner of the training grounds. Since she was Gyro's granddaughter, she had all the access to the training grounds. 

She had also started her journey a few months ago and she had recently come here to Violet City to meet her grandfather.

After hearing about the trainer's battle, she got excited and she also wanted to participate.

Axel was happy to comply. 

"Croagunk, which Pokemon do you want to fight against?", asked Frank already knowing what Pokemon it would choose. 

After Croagunk came to the team it became friendly with other Pokemons of Axel and it had also developed a rivalry with Togepi. 

Togepi was arrogant and prideful and Croagunk didn't like it. It felt that it was also not worse than Togepi. It knew that if it fought with Togepi, it would win. 

So, with confidence, it pointed its hand towards Togepi.

Togepi gave a small smile as if ridiculing Croagunk for its lack of thinking. As per Togepi, it may not be able to win against higher-rank Pokemons, but there was no other Pokemon of the same rank that could defeat it. 

Its confidence was also not baseless. It had trained a lot and it had a huge potential. It had a knack for picking new things and it was a hard-working Pokemon.

"Togepi, are you ready for battle?", asked Axel.

"Chukii. Chukiii..", it said with its chest held high. This scene looked very cute and Axel had to hold his laugh. He didn't want to make it angry.

Axel looked at Croagunk's stats:

It was doing good for Pokemon that had only trained for 1 month. If Croagunk could use its ability 'Anticipation' to its full potential and learn some dodging moves then it would be unstoppable. 

If 'Anticipation' evolved, then it would be like 'Observation haki' in one piece. However, it was not his Pokemon so he could not interfere. Axel could occasionally give some points but that was all he could do.

He then looked at Togepi's stats
