I was quite surprised as the system that has been silent since the day I woke up at the hospital finally spoke. The female voice that was cryptic before was now much clearer than before. Though it still sounds mechanical.

I looked back and there really was a dead soldier wearing a military outfit holding an assault rifle equipped with a knife on the muzzle. Three zombie harpy flew toward me, ready to spit their acid.

They all fell down 5 meters in front of me. Nothing could get closer than 5 meters. Not a zombie ninja, zombie samurai, or the zombie harpie. It was our last line of defense. Any more than this and it would endanger us all. Two minutes pass and I was on my last cartridge.

After I was done reloading I pulled the trigger. Not only did it put a hole inside its neck area, but the recoil also pushed the gun upwards, splitting the skull.

My hand reached into the pocket and took out a hand grenade. I pulled the safety pin and threw it at a distance of 20 meters ahead. While I took cover behind the police car, I took out another hand grenade and threw it a bit further than the previous.

There was a lot of exp. But it wasn't enough to level up yet. I took this chance and reach the deceased soldier and took two cartridges, a grenade, and a MAC Mle 1950 handgun. The genmas are pretty much almost defeated. There are nine left from 30-ish genmas earlier.

Suddenly a building wall crumbled behind the leftover genmas. Two huge fat Genma that looked just like the one before, stepped out. One holding a bloody broadsword and another holding a lamp post. It looked at me and started walking.

"Shit, my luck is really the worst."

[Scanning nearby firearm available. Result: none.]

[Estimated time for his arrival: 60 second left]

His arrival?

I glanced at the nearby subway entrance. Now I knew why the system was telling me to hold on for five minutes.

As I continued shooting, I looked around to look for an improv prop. I asked the system while smiling, "You know how to steal a car?"

[Why, sir?]

"Teach me." I took the broken FAMAS from the deceased guy and get inside the police car. There was no key inside but the system told me how to turn it on.

[Remove the screws that are holding the electrical part and the mechanical part of the ignition switch together. Insert the knife into the keyhole and turn in the same direction as the key usually is]

I didn't have a screwdriver, so I just make do by shooting it instead. Like a wise man once said, modern problems require modern solutions. it didn't take long for the car to start roaring

*Vroooom!!

I turned the gear and jammed the broken rifle into the pedal, locking it in place. I took out the grenade and just threw it on the backseat. I didn't forget to reinforce the grenade as well. I jumped outside when the car reaches 10 meters close to them. It first hit a Genma samurai, making the car go slower but the car still dragged its body to the two huge Genma. The one with the broadsword walked ahead and stabbed the car's hood along with the samurai Genma severing its upper body and stopping the car altogether. And then...

*Kabooom! boooomm!

Two explosions in a row, one from the grenade, another from the car.

The other huge Genma didn't seem affected that much. As it just fell on its butt. I finished the other samurai and ninja zombies, leaving the huge one alone. Suddenly, it roared out loud in frenzy and charged at me. But I was calm and just stood there, without moving an inch, because I already felt his presence behind me.

A red shadow streak passed by me and his fast speed alone could produce a gust of wind. All I could see was a shadow flying through the huge Genma's body. The Genma suddenly tumbled forward as its head flew toward my feet.

Surely, his power was nerfed inside the game. Nice to meet you, Samanosuke Akechi.

Samanosuke Akechi was the first samurai warrior to use the power Oni Clan bestowed to slain genmas in his timeline. 500 years ago, according to Onimusha 3's storyline, after he defeated Ranmaru Mori, Nobunaga's ward, he faced the last boss himself.

His sole purpose is to put an end to Nobunaga Oda's conquest and his use of Genma's Power, inside the burning Honnõ-ji Temple. But instead of defeating him, he was sent here into the present. He met with Jacques Blanc, the second protagonist from the same series earlier, and helped him, but he also was sent somewhere into the Sengoku era.

Fighting his way around the city to look for clues, he got out of the subway station only to find a boy fought with the genmas alone. He watched how he jump from a car and exploded it to kill a Genma ogre. (note: I don't know its name, let's just call it ogre from now on)

He was amazed because the boy didn't rely on the use of Oni's power to defeat Genma's. He saw how the boy shot down one Zombie warrior after another. He knew that the boy didn't have Oni's power because every time a Genma was defeated, no soul coming out of it. A trait only an Oni Gauntlet of Power could have.

Samanosuke then saw the charging Genma ogre dashed toward it. If he allowed the boy that barely the size of his waist fight it heads on, the boy wouldn't survive unscathed. As he passed by the kid he held the sheath with the left hand and his right hand on the handle. When he was close, he jumped and drew the sword as fast as lightning, separating the ogre's head with its body.

Due to the running speed of the ogre, its own body tumbled and rolled as far as 10 meters before stopping. The head flew and landed on the boy's feet. But weirdly he just stood there with a pissed off face.

Samanosuke was bewildered. He thought that maybe his help was not needed after all, and just uselessly interfering with the standoff. He felt ashamed of his hasty decision.

But what Samanosuke didn't know was that the boy actually was angry for a whole another reason.
