Chapter 50 - Not A Child

Jade stepped closer to clive and whispered, "Its okay if you like my daughter," with a naughty smirk.

Clive stepped back with a blush.bjt it was barely visible inbetween all the facil hair. "Why would I lover her? .....I dont love her. no why would i? i dont have such feelings," he swiftly added.

Reya's mom, Jade's smirk widened even more. "Ohhh so you really 'don't' love her. I 'totally' understand," she emphasized strongly in the dont.

Clive blushed, till his neck and ears became red. "I--i really don't have feelings. only feeling I have is for July," he picked up the robot hand and kissed it.

Jade grimaced and patted his back. "dont be in denial for long, someone might steal Reya away," she whispered and spelled the robot hand from his hand. "Why are building this anyway," she then glanced at the broken and smashed peices of metal in the bag, "Dont tell me...are you training my daughter's powers secretly?"

'waa she caught in quick,' Till now Reya's special power training schedule was kept a secret from all the adults. sometimes being too truthful might curb their growth. 'waa, momma Jade is going to kill me,' Clive gulped.

Thankfully his brother Mark came for his rescue. "I dont think they are doing anything dangerous. I know Clive, he might be a research maniac, but he knows his limit," he added.

Just a few words of assurance from him calmed Jade down. Giving him a small smile, Jade waltzed out the room.

with a silly smile, Mark followed after her.

"Look at these love birds. And they are making fun of me being in love." He mumbled and held July's hands. "You are my only love July I promise," he rapidly kissed her robotic fingers.

Reya who was passing by his room saw this ans shuddered. "perverted guy, what is he doing to July. poor robot is being harassed." she mumbled. not wanting to witness this longer, she dashed away to her room.

"Mina baby, I'm back," Reya shuoylyed pushing the door wide open.

Mina was sitting on the bed with her back facing her.

"Baby, did you rest well. its time to take you tabs." Reya said as she stepped close.

But Mina did not have any reaction like she usually would.

"Mina..."

Startled Mina dropped the knife that was in her hand.

Reya picked up the knife from her lap and checked her for cuts. "Mina what are you doing with a knife. you could cut yourself," she whispered softly.

Mina shook her head and held out a plate that was hidden by her spread out skirt. it had an apple that was half pealed. "I was cutting apple peal," she mumbled.

"Oh, let me," Reya took it from her and cheerfully pealed away. "You know today I saw something really funny. Mister Clive was kissing a Robots hands," Reya chuckled out loud.

Mina did not react to any of her jokes. rather she was peered into her sister's face intensely.

"Is there something on my face?" Reya patted her face and mouth but she could feel any crumbs.

"No.....you are pretty," Mina whispered hoarsely. her voice cracked now and then.

Reya softly combed through her sister's Auburn hair.

her baby sister's health was compromised because of lymphoma. she got sick so easily. Even a mild winter wind was enough to get her bedridden.

After coming to the mansion she was advised to stay in her room at all times to avoid any complications.

Reya made sure to meet her often even during training in order for her to feel happy. but somehow she got a feeling that Mina became more depressed.

Reya shuffled through her pockets and brought out the numerous tablets her cute sister had to eat. just looking at the sheer number made her heart ache abnormally. "Mina, here take them one by one. I will peal the apple for you," she whispered.

sweet child she is, Mina ate her tablets without any problem. "I will peal,"

"But you are a child,"

"I'm not a child anymore Reya. I'm an adult. I can understand your need to protect me. but you dont have to," Mina whispered and clicked the knife out of her hand. she slowly started peeling the apple

Reya sighed and stepped out.

As soon as she did, Mina let go of the knife in her hand. it floated and levitated around her. she brought the apple up and the knife started peeling its skin.
