Aya was still lying on the couch, she didn't remember falling asleep after she sent Hoseok the first text to apologise they did a few exchanges.
She sighed looking up at the ceiling, she was glad that Carl gave her advice to think things through rationally. She also came to realise that she misses Hoseok terribly.
She looked at her phone, a new message. Will they be okay now if they talked about everything? If they work through her emotional trust issues? Maybe she needs to talk to a therapist to help her. No, not a therapist, she would rather talk to Carl.
She opened the message, typing her reply.
"I wish you all the luck I can give you for your live performance, may it light up the stage, I know it might be early to say this but I really miss you, Hoseok."
She placed her phone on the table, yes she is feeling a bit insecure, what if they didn't work out? What if they decided to try and she wasn't cut out to be the girlfriend of an idol?
She sat up, where do these thoughts come from? Did Luke scar her this badly? She stood up to make herself tea, but she really connected with Hoseok on a different level than to Luke.
She poured water in her cup, still deep in thought, she felt a burning sensation. "Hot! Hot!" She grabbed a towel. "See Aya that is what you get for comparing Hoseok to Luke!" She dabbed her shirt.
"You have to remember that Hoseok is not Luke, they are two different people." She took her tea, sitting on the couch she picked up her phone.
"Carl, I need you to come over or whenever you have time."
She sipped her tea, her phone vibrated.
"Is something wrong, Aya?"
"I need someone to talk to, or we can text if that isn't a problem?"
"I know how you struggle to connect over a text because you can't read emotion into it."
"You know me too well."
"You keep forgetting, Aya you are like a little sister to me. I can come over tomorrow after your shift at the bookstore."
"You will always be my older brother Carl :P, that works perfectly for me."
"Then I will see you tomorrow. Sweet dreams, Aya."
"Sweet dreams Carl."
She finished her tea she will never forget the first time she met Carl. It was a rainy day, her mother forgot to pick her up, there were four boys who always picked on her.
That afternoon they were pulling on her pigtails, pushing her between them towards a big puddle of water they gave her a light push she stumbled and fell, she remembered crying and they were laughing, suddenly the laughter stopped and the four boys were on their knees.
"Are you alright?" She stopped crying looking up at a smiling boy who was offering her his hand. She took it. "My name is Carl."
"I... My name is Aya." She said teeth chattering, he chuckled. "Let's go wait inside so you can warm up." Hand in hand they walked back to the school building, from that day they were inseparable.
Aya laid back on the couch, she smiled at the memory. "Yes, he will always be there when I need him." She fell asleep.
