Chapter 23

Vukan hammered his fist into the door one more time, praying she would answer him this time around. Surviving everything that had occurred in the hospital was nothing short of a miracle but he had left the place with more scars than he could explain. More so, having his entire family show up was even more damning while his parents doted on Lee and accused him of being negligent. 

"Lee, please speak to me", he pleaded desperately. 

Her cries and loud shrieks of misery were becoming unbearable and he feared the worst might come to be at any point in time. Lee had locked herself in her room all day, refused to say a word to him and even managed to go on without eating anything even while she needed to take her drugs. 

"Go away!" she screamed, before bursting out into tears again.
