The Wizard
The famous Renaissance wizard John Dee was born on the 13th of July 1527 in Tower Ward, London to mundane parents. His father Rowland Dee was a successful importer of silks and a minor courtier in the court of Henry III. Thus, young John's childhood was one of plenty when compared to most other boys born into the London mage enclave.
Unlike young mages born in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, John Dee was not enrolled at the age of eleven in The Isle of Skye School of Magick. In fact, the Dee family had no real knowledge of magic and the existence of the hidden mage enclaves with whom the mundanes shared the British Isles. Instead, he studied with mundane students, first at the Chantford Grammar School and then at Trinity College in Cambridge.
