The Nine-tailed Fox is in danger

The only thing on Lan Tian's mind as he flees Nanpei is getting back to Wu Yun as soon as possible.

According to the Southern map, the demonic weapon's location is somewhere in a the middle of a lake, with no human villages around it, and a far distance away from Nanpei. He doesn't know how exactly the weapon's area of effect works, but part of him thinks it should be far away enough from the city not to affect it.

But then what caused the drought? And if the drought was caused by the weapon, why did it only start around the time Zhao Yi removed the first weapon? Shouldn't there be signs of its influence far earlier, like in Xinzhou?

This train of thought isn't helping him feel less anxious about leaving Wu Yun behind. He flies through the cloudy night sky as fast as he possibly can, straining his muscles and expending more qi than he can afford to, but the faster he gets the weapon the faster he can rescue Wu Yun.
