Putting People Back in Place

Hokama Minako was currently kneeling on the floor an all fours. She was panting heavily, completely defeated by her kohai. She outperformed her on everything.

First point her voice, it was louder, more refined, smoother, more beautiful, more harmonious, than hers.

Second point her dance moves, her steps enhanced her singing, she pulled the attention of the others with each step taken, even hers. Additionally, she looked like a little fairy happily dancing around.

Third point, she was constantly playing an instrument during her performance! FUCKING BULLSHIT! How could she coordinate both things at the same time, without messing up one of them!

Bonus point, she looked like she genuinely enjoyed their duel with all her heart and she is a beautiful, cute girl too. It was a complete defeat for her in her book.

She stood up and wanted to congratulate the girl, but she was cut off.

"Do you also know that I am blind?"

"OOF!"

Additionally, she is blind too. At this point she couldn't talk bad about anything on the girl. She wasn't even sure if she could even remotely give it her all in becoming an idol, if she was in her shoes!

After recovering from the critical damage Minako stood up, congratulating her kohai, she was truly impressive, from her entrance, up to her duel she showed incredibly skill and endurance. Some of these poses were difficult to hold on their own, but with a violin on your neck?!

"You should consider yourself awesome! Minako-san almost never compliments anyone, EVER! This just shows how great you already are!"

"Uhum! We should consider ourselves happy to have someone like you in our next generation! Even if the rest of your group is just bullshit, just having you there would be enough to sell out most of the tickets!"

Masa was currently trembling in excitement in one of the corners of the room. He didn't expect to get assigned to such a big talent! He was so excited that he just couldn't calm down, he imagined it, the manager of a big star, his earnings would go through the roof, he would get many new jobs offers, because he was the manager of this star! So many doors would open up for him!

But someone here was jealous and just had to try to drop cold water on them all.

"Tscheh, why are you all praising her? Just because she is performing great doesn't mean that she will do great in business! The active heroes that have the idol business as a side gig are more popular anyways and just being an idol alone won't get you far. She may be obviously talented, but that's it, talent alone won't get you anywhere!"

"Tanaka, don't you think you are a bit rude!"

The room was silent, or that was how everybody imagined it going to be, but Akane immediately answered back.

"Tanaka-san, right? Let me ask you a short question, should I rip off that band-aid slowly and painfully, or do you want to get this other with and rip it off fast?"

She didn't imagine the girl to approach her so casually, but she was frozen by just her presence, she opened her eyes, revealing to beautiful purple marbles, she didn't know why, but she had the feeling as if she was naked in front of the girl, as if every single secret of hers was revealed to the girl.

"Of course, you won't get far with that kind of mindset, you already gave up before everything even started. Being an idol is just a stepping stone for me, a stepping stone to reach my big ambition of becoming a hero as a disabled girl without a quirk!"

Everyone in the room couldn't believe what she just said, this girl has no quirk? The girl that had incredible motor skill, body flexibility, incredible endurance and multi-task so easily had no quirk?

"Of course I don't want to boost my popularity with becoming a hero, that's just lame as fuck, I plan to overtake the most popular idol groups, reaching the top of the idol world, this is my conquest, being an idol might be a secondary goal for me, but it doesn't mean that I won't give it my damn best in this business, so you want at least try to climb up with us? I honestly have taken an interest in you and I want to know how far we three can climb up together like that, so want to join my group?"

Akane stretched her hand out, giving Kameko an offer of joining her. Kameko reached out to it, but before they could shake hands, she slapped her hand away.

"You are fucking delusional! Trying to reach the top of the world in this kind of society is impossible for someone without a quirk! You'll get eaten up before you even know, you'll get eliminated before even having the change to climb! Stop trying and stay at the bottom where you belong!"

Akane looked at her hand, before dusting it off on her shirt. Everyone in the room was silent, the air was thick and everyone found it difficult to breath, this situation could escalate.

Akane straight up punched Kameko into the face. The girl seeing this declaration of war activated her quirk and shot concentrated air right into her face.

Akane just tilted her head lightly to the side, completely dodging that blow. Seeing this surprised the girl, but she thought it was a stroke of luck and activated her quirk again.

But suddenly all her air left her lungs and Kameko couldn't breathe, she slumped down, before she heard a condescending tone talk to her.

"Stand up and 'put me back into my place' as you described it, show me that you are better than me."

Kameko bit into the bait, awaiting a painful counter. The next 20 minutes were spent with Akane absolutely beating the shit out of Kameko, the girl with the air quirk stood no chance and ended up black and blue on the ground. Akane sustained no scratch during the fight.

Kameko stood up again, looking like she was trying to prove something, Akane just turned around, she wasn't interested in betrayal kills.

"COME BACK AND FACE ME AS IF YOU MEAN IT, I AM STILL STANDING!!!"

Seeing this pathetic display Akane just had to breath out in exhaustion, she didn't want to pull that card out yet.

"Hey is it really all right for us two to beat the living crap out of each other, I mean wouldn't we get in trouble because of that."

Everyone shook their heads.

"For me it looks like you know what you are doing, and it seems like one of these scenes in hot blooded anime, showing the hot-blooded youth of the two rivals in the team."

"And additionally, you hit her in a way that doesn't leave any physical wounds on her, well beside the soft internal bleedings on skin level, but I guess it's okay?"

"Yeah! Just go nuts, we still have time left and with you here, we will make much progress anyways!"

Akane nodded, she didn't want to, but she guessed she had to.

"You know, I kind of expected the little sister of 'Jet' to understand me a little bit, but I guess that event twisted you a little bit."

Something snapped inside of Kameko, she was going to kill that bitch and nobody would be able to stop her, she activated her quirk 'air cannon' to the fullest power she could use, leaped at her and fucking blasted a load through her stomach, trying to tear a new hole to the girl.

Akanes leather jacket and shirt got ripped to shreds, but her body stayed fine, just a circular scratch wound on her stomach.

"Was that all? I'll show you what a true trump card is."

In the next moment she flew through the air, but it didn't stop, before she could continue to fly, she was stopped in mid-air, getting kicked back down, where she met a knee in her stomach, that dragged her around in a somersault, before finally truly reaching the ground again.

She couldn't believe what just happened, her entire body felt numb and this all was done by a quirkless girl! She truly couldn't believe it. It defied all common sense.

Suddenly she felt someone lay beside her, it was Akane.

"Well, Kameko, I really believed that someone like you would understand how I feel, but I guess your brother 'Jet' was just another wimp that couldn't continue living after losing his quirk."

"Don't talk bad about my brother!"

She said, trying to sit up, but she just fell down on the ground again. Akane chuckled at the scene.

"Your brother 'Jet' was known as a great hero, with his quirk 'air cannon' he saved many civilians lives and defeated my villain with it, it's a rather powerful quirk after all, but on one faithful day he met All-For-One, he got his quirk stolen by him, turning quirkless. You know, I thought that someone with such strong ideals and dreams would try to show everyone that he could still kick ass and be awesome, but I guess he is just like any other in this society, giving up on all after getting disabled, how ironic."

Akane chuckled again, this time at the situation of the story.

"He was one of the few heroes I considered I 'genuine hero', I saw his first debut online and just thought what a nice goofball he was, I wondered what happened to him and wondered why I never heard of someone with such beautiful goals, despite his role as a hero and one after another I heard it and researched it. How he tried to protect the civilians in front of him, despite clearly being weaker than All-For-One, the fact that he, despite being an underdog still tried to do his job. I honestly found that scene even more beautiful than All-Might saving all the people from that big fire. All-Might is strong, he had power, he knows that he can come out victorious out of each fight, but Jet? He isn't so strong, he knew he had no chance, but he still chose to do his job, despite standing against unimaginable odds."

Akane heard how Kameko slowly started to cry, she didn't yet, but she could hear how tears threatened to come out of her eyes.

"You know, I always tried showing everyone that even quirkless people can reach high heights, despite everything else, your brother Jet just solidified this ideal further, he showed me the picture of what a true hero should be, unlike most of the faggots today, just being in for the fame and money. At first, I was truly excited about the prospect of meeting Jet's little sister, I wanted to know how he is doing these days without his quirk, but I guess he just gave up. I really was excited how he did, hoping to further prove that I am right. But I guess I have to pave that path on my own, without a solid example, how disappointing. My condolence, Kameko-san."

"Don't go and kill of my brother just like that! He has a name you know? His true name is Tanaka Masato and he is doing fine enough for his standards. I never thought that that idiot had any fans left, you know, almost everyone that supported him at that time just left after he got disabled. His sponsors, friends, even his lover left him after he lost his quirk, but to think that someone still thinks that he was right in his action, which he obviously is, truly exists, surprises me."

Kameko was crying, she was full blown crying, but she hid it behind the sleeves of her jacket.

Akane consoled Kameko for a while, until she calmed down again.

Akane stood up, placing herself in the center of the room, alongside the headlights.

"You know, this is incredible, I still haven't introduced myself to any of you and all of you just give a shit about knowing my name!"

Everyone was surprised. Indeed, they didn't know Akanes' name.

"Well, I am probably going to surprise a couple of you people, when I am introducing myself, so grab something, so you want fall from your chair!"

Hearing this everyone did this, who was the girl in front of them.

"I am Seigi Akane! Famous music prodigy that retired a couple of months ago, nice to make your acquaintance!"

The room was silent, they needed to process the words.

Four out of six people knew about her, she considered this a victory.
