Chapter 36: Zemblanity

The rain was falling hard like there is no end- thunders were clapping and the village was silent. Only the rain can be heard- and a sobbing from a woman with a blurry face- and it was so painful to hear for a bystander. Tears bedimmed her loving eyes and her face slowly came to view, but Yvan just stood there and looked at her, shocked with the familiarity. He felt the connection they have- and the first time he saw her, he felt like they knew each other for a long time.

But who is she?

"Yvan. Please. Forget about me... Live happily.. Thank you for everything." the woman cried as she dispersed into thin air, leaving him on the ground as he tried to grab her before she disappeared from his sight. He looked back and saw himself laying on the ground unconscious. He tried to approach him but he also started to disperse as he came closer.

_________

"What did you dream about?"

A golden-eyed person suddenly appeared as the sun shone on his face like an annoying alarm every morning- it woke him up.

"Rather, who did you dream about?" the person with golden eyes asked.

"How did you know that I dreamt about someone?" Yvan asked, puzzled by his sure expression.

"That's the way it should be, and will always be." golden eyes looked at him with his cold gaze, making him remember someone.

"There was a girl on my dream, her entire body was full of cuts. Her face was blurry at first then it all became clear and it felt like I know her the moment I saw her face. I know deep inside myself that I know her because just the view of her caused me pain her. It was surreal actually." Yvan said and held his chest. Light observed him.

"Guess you have forgotten everything." golden eyes said, then left him all alone, wondering. Yvan was. sure that there was a girl with a very remarkable face but her image was already fading from his memory and that made him sad. If only he could remember who she is.

Yvan watched Light as he left him, while Hope came dashing to his side with new cuts on her wrists.

"Oh, while you were sleeping, I did some work." she said as she realized that he was looking at her new cuts.

Everything doesn't make any sense to Yvan- Light being strange around him, and that girl.

"Yvan?"

He snapped out of his thoughts as Hope waved her hands at his eyes which eventually hurt him because she hit him.

"Sorry."

She tried to reach for his heart, as if trying to realize something.

"You want to live." She said.

"No. What are you saying. You're weird. "

"Yes you do. Please! Let me help you! It will all feel better if you will let me help you. Just trust me!"

"Enough, Hope. Enough. Where is this coming from?"

She kept on talking and talking-- Yvan was able to see her but he was not able to hear any word that came from her mouth. He started to feel weak and apart from reality until all he saw was darkness, then there was light and a vision.

[Light told Joy to leave the both of them alone because he sensed danger. Joy reluctantly left but pledged to come back after an hour or so.]

Meanwhile,

Yvan saw a man walking on the Rev Bridge. He walked towards him because he looked familiar and he wanted to ask where he was. Just then, the man ran fast as he saw a girl attempting to jump off. With urgency, Yvan moved fast to catch up to him, and hoped to help the man pull her before she jumps.

Yvan's heart thumped as he ran on a fast pace but everything seemed like in a slow motion - and all he heard were his footsteps and his racing heart- all hurting because of concern. The man was nearer to to the woman as Yvan tried to get nearer.

At last, the man reached her and pulled her hand- then hugged her. Yvan was startled and stopped running. The man was ready any minute to cry with her and listen as well but the woman did not do anything.

"Yvan Uriel, 17, from Class 1-1N. I have finally found you." the woman told him and pulled away from his arms.

"What are you saying?" the man asked.

Yvan recognized his own voice from the man and he was sure that he heard his name from the woman.

"I am Twinquel and the heavens sent me from above to deliver you a message, that is- you have to save everyone."

A luminous blue light almost blinded Yvan from the distance. The light was from the necklaces of the 2 people on the bridge.

"What is this feeling?" Yvan said as he held his head. He felt like he was spinning and the terrible headache he had as he looked at the light made it more painful he almost collapsed.

"You seem to have remembered some things." a voice spoke.

"I think so." Yvan answered. He felt a familiar gaze as the coldness eloped him- hewanted to run away from all of this, but he cannot move an inch with his aura. Just then, he placed his hand on his chest and spoke.

"I am Light, the chosen one,

By right of blood that channels through me,

I proclaim myself to thee.

Your pain and worry I vanish from thee.

From now on your heart will be at ease

And the burden you carry

Give them all to me

So your heart can finally feel the peace"

His golden eyes glowed like the sun as he said those things- it was not meant to save him like Hope did- it was meant to do other than that. His voice was different which alarmed him.

"You are now allowed to remember everything you are told to forget."

He saw himself on the bridge again and the blue light was there--shining bright. Memories kept flooding into his mind as the terrible headache kept hurting him. The image of the woman smiling had appeared at his memories. The woman was so familiar--so beautiful and kind. Then he saw himself holding her hand and they walked happily- then the memories stopped coming to him. He pushed himself to open his eyes and the blue light was gone now- however, he found himself on the bridge, hugging the woman and differently colored lights were floating around them. He knew that it was him in the first place- the man that pulled the woman before she could jump- but it was an eldritch moment-- he was far away from them just a while ago and now he was standing on the place where the man stood.

He started to feel the headache again as their surroundings started spinning. The woman was still hugging her tight, afraid to let go.

______

Yvan saw himself acquire numerous cuts and the setting had changed. He was just at the bridge a while ago, and now he's in the rooftop, seeing himself helping someone and saying eeriee things.

" I am Yvan and I am the chosen one.

The heavens heard you and have sent me to tell you all your pains are now gone.

Now heal and let's make a deal.

I'll carry half of your sufferings

And as you heal, i will also heal."

Yvan then saw himself crying in pain and the woman approaching him.

'What was her name again?" he thought to himself as he watched himself and the woman. They had the same necklaces which reminded him of the ones Light and Joy wore.

He then saw himself again as they traveled into different places, helping people in need. They had encountered many people and after the last one that gave him terrible cuts, the woman approached him.

" You have accumulated many pains now. You absorbed their sufferings. The heart is so full now. Yvan." the woman cried as she looked at the discolored necklace of Yvan.

'What was her name again?' he thought to himself and approached the two. However, the both of them did not notice his presence.

"Yvan!" The woman cried.

"No! Please." he pleaded. Tears had started falling from his eyes and Yvan [the bystander] remembered something.

' Twinquel. Her name was Twinquel and I-' he thought to himself but the her words interrupted her.

"You know what this means."

"Stop!" Yvan cried and walked away. He ran as fast as he could, then the rain poured hard, making him stop in the middle of the road.

"Yvan! You knew about this!" Twinquel exclaimed. "You have to let yourself go! You have to let us go!"

"No! Don't leave alone. Please. You promised me you won't! Stop acting like this! STO-" Twinquel ran towards him and pulled him into a hug and refused to let him go. The real Yvan from the sideline felt a deja vu. The shouting continued.

"You know I love you, but we have to do this. I told you that I'll have to heal you after we fill the necklace. My mission is accomplished now Yvan! You have to let me go!"

"No. You are abandoning me like everyone else. Why are you doing this to me?" he cried as the both of them stood there while she was hugging him and they both soaked wet on the rain.

"Please Yvan, I can't leave you like this." Twinquel cried.

"Then don't." Yvan pulled her and hugged her back, afraid of letting her go.

"I can't stay here Yvan."

"Stop talking."

"Let me go now. Please."

She spoke so inaudibly but Yvan was able to understand what she meant. There was no use for fighting now because he knows her well- when she decides, it's final and nothing can change her mind. The real one on the sideline was crying--he couldn't move nor say a word- he remembered everything and what happened on this very day.

Twinquel stepped away from him and looked him in the eyes.

"I am Twinquel." she cried.

'I really don't want you to leave...' Yvan thought. The real one was able to hear his own thoughts--he wanted to run to her- he wanted to hold her dear again but he was frozen--he was suffering extreme pain in his heart and the rain made him more sad. That was why he always cried when it rained.

"I was the chosen one."

'Thank you for choosing me.. Thank you for everything.' the Yvan in front of Twinquel thought.

"You have suffered hard until now."

'No suffering can match the pain I am feeling right now.' he cried and refused to look at her.

"Fear not- because I am here now."

'You are leaving me like everyone else!'

"Yvan, i am healing you right this moment and I hope you accept it. Thank you for being with me throughout this mission. I will store our memories in my heart and soul so even if you could forget them, I will remember them for as long as I'm alive. Please live well and be happy, my knight in shining armour. You can live the life you want now. Without me, without any memory of me. "

Yvan from the sideline dropped his jaw and fought himself. He was finally able to move and ran towards them. But it was of no use because they can't see him. What he was seeing right now is his own memory of what happened.

"What are you talking about forgetting? NO!" Yvan screamed. He saw himself run as fast as he could but he saw her vanishing- dispersing slowly into thin air as he approached her, crying and pleading for her to stay.

"I love you! Please live well." Twinquel shouted and completely vanished from the world.

Yvan saw hinself crying in pain, but after a second, he collapsed at the road and was drenched in water. A car stopped and took him to the hospital.

"I did forget her. How could I possibly do that? SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. WHY DID I EVER FORGET HER. WHY?" Yvan screamed under the rain that fell together with his tears.

"The heavens sent her to me... But why did they have to take her back and hurt me like this?!

"Am I just an object that the heavens used then discarded because I am useless after my heart was filled with despair? Am I just a mere thing without my humanity being acknowledged by the heavens itself?" he cried and punched the road. A car came and passed by him.

'Twinquel....'

'Twinquel...'

___________

"Light?" Hope suddenly barged in- attempting to get near them- but she failed, making Yvan realize that he was also emiting colors like Light. They were standing above the grass now and he have his necklace again and it was shere the streaks of colors were coming from.

Something is wrong. Yvan can feel it. Light was uncontrollable. He cannot hear anyone. He tried snapping at him but he don't hear a thing!

"It has been my very distant nightmare to be forgotten. I don't want to be forgotten especially by you..." a very familiar voice came out from Light, and it sent Yvan shivers down his spine - as well as tears of longing and of pain. "But you had to... You have to. Again."

"No. Why are you doing this to me?! Do I not deserve love? I did what the heavens wanted! Why are they discarding me now?!" Yvan shouted

"They want you to live happily. And remembering me won't make you do that." Light said - but his voice was Twinquel's.

"Making me let you go is not giving me a happy life. They killed me when they took you away from me. Please... Come back..." Yvan cried and looked at his eyes- they were blue like what Twinquel had before.

But Light's eyes and necklace lost light as we fell on the ground, and Hope nearly not caught him but a spirit was there it was Yvam's first time seeing him- he was Cammy, the dead one.

" What happened? " Hope asked, looking very concerned with Light.

"He'll be fine." Yvan said. Hope looked at him and realized that his appearence had changed- he had so many cuts on his wrist- his hair color became lighter- and the necklace he wore is in a different color--it was blood red. It was so dark and frightening.

"I guess was also a chosen." he said. "But I have to do something."

He pulled Joy's and Cammy's hands - he was so strong that protesting did not help the two of them lose his grip. He touched both of their heads and Cammy was shocked because he was able to touch and see him now.

"I am Yvan and I am the chosen one.

The heavens heard you and have sent me to tell you all your pains are now gone.

Now heal and let's make a deal.

Cammy and Hope

Forget about what you saw this day- what happened and how we fell- everything you heard.

So your job will continue

And your soul be at ease. "
