Brogy and Luffy took fighting stances, both empty-handed, with a distance of 100 meters between them.
Brogy charged at Luffy and stomped on him with his right leg. *BOOM* a loud sound was heard and dust rose from the ground, but no one spoke, no one even reacted, as they knew Luffy won't be defeated by only this much.
And true to their beliefs, Brogy was pushed aside like a rag doll. At least, that was what everyone expected, but since Luffy pushed Brogy by the leg which stomped on him, Brogy jumped upwards with his other foot at an angle that changed his launching trajectory into a relatively straight line upwards.
"Oh, I didn't expect him to pull it off", Luffy said with a somewhat impressed expression as Brogy flew about 50 meters upwards before starting to fall down. Brogy, though, wasn't finished and raised his left leg as high as he could, which wasn't much, to preform an ax kick.
This time, though, Luffy threw a pebble at his foot with enough force to completely cancel his momentum just a few meters before the ground, he did it mostly because the damage to this island would be quite large if Brogy's kick would connect with either him or the island. This threw off Brogy's timing, and he landed on the ground while stumbling forward a little. Luffy took the chance and moved so quickly he was only seen as a blur. Luffy appeared on Brogy's head and tapped him as if to signal that the battle was over.
"Gurarara, quite a lot of power you got there. Enough for me to admit that I'm no match for you anyway". "So..." Luffy enquired. "A duel is sacred in our tradition, so I'll join your fleet. Can't say anything about Dorry though", Brogy replied. "Hahaha, like I'd miss a chance to fight such a strong warrior!" Dorry got up in excitement.
"You s- know what? Never mind" Luffy was about to say that Dorry should battle him with weapons, but upon remembering the giant's strict warrior code, he knew he would do nothing but insult Dorry.
The two got into fighting stances while judging one another. For a couple of minutes, no one made a move, but then Dorry charged at Luffy. Right before he reached Luffy, Dorry suddenly kicked dust in the air. Than, Dorry started to punch the ground relentlessly. He used the dust to hide his moves form Luffy, while he wasn't affected by it since his fist was large enough that his chances to miss were astronomically low. That is unless the opponent was an expert in observation haki.
Normally, using observation haki in this situation would be even worse than not using it, since the user would then get information on practically every grain of sand and that information could easily overwhelm users who aren't prepared for it.
But Luffy isn't a normal user, and he continued to dodge every attack Dorry threw at him leisurely. Seeing his attacks fail, Dorry opted to switch his tactics. Dorry stopped slamming his fists on the ground, and instead, he quickly dug his hands deep into the ground. Then, Dorry pulled his hands out of the ground as quickly as he inserted them, but on the way out he pushed all the land above his hands to the surface and attempted to burry Luffy.
Luffy was impressed by Dorry's strategy and thought he saw enough. He escaped the huge dome by smashing a part of it and launched all the rocks that made up the dome at Dorry using his punches. Dorry was overwhelmed by the speed which the rocks flew at him, and after a struggle that lasted a couple of minutes, Luffy sped to Dorry's head and taped him too to signal the end of the battle.
"Hahahaha, it appears me and Brogy will serve a new captain now! I can't wait for the adventures" Dorry said while lying down on the ground. "Oh don't worry about the adventures, I fear you'll go through too many", Luffy said. "Excellent! This calls for another party!" Dorry announced, and the group went to search for food once more.
So... I'm thinking of how to add a new character I want. I know the story is a little rushed (that's my writing style) but I don't want to completely rush it. So please tell me what you think
