A Locator Spell?

~•Aden•~

"Maybe yes, maybe no. You will only know if you come with me."

She looked over her shoulder and passed me a sinister smile.

Shrugging my shoulders, I followed her steps. I wasn't given any other choice beside following the woman into the woods.

The quietness which embraced our surroundings felt more like peace to me. The low chirpings of the birds as they sat on top of those brown, scaly limbs whilst hiding themselves among the small, green sheets.

"You sure have some faith in your new friend. Following me blindly into the deep, dark woods without any doubts." She spoke up out of nowhere as her steps came to a sudden stop.

"If I can't put a little trust in my friend, then what's the friendship for." I added in response.

"You do have a point." She looked around to her left and right before making a 360° turn.

I couldn't comprehend what she was looking for. Wasn't there an entire trail to follow? What was she trying to find amongst the dark green foliage and brown wide trunks.

"May I ask what you are looking for?" I couldn't help but mutter under my breath but I was quite sure that she heard me. Her actions piqued my interest.

"A deep, dark place where I could finish you off." She spoke up after a while as she finally started to walk again, but this time she went off the mud trail.

"Finish me off...?" I stared at the back of her head as I continued to follow her down whatever path she was walking on.

Her words were more or less a little ambiguous, which could easily be listed under some other meanings. Or it was just my mind which was taking a stroll on the wrong path.

'F@*#?' I cursed myself inwardly for taking her words the wrong way. Moreover, there was no need for me to spit my foul thoughts out.

"Umm… I didn't mean it like that." She spoke up in her defense as she continued to make her way through the flock of trees.

"Then what did you mean?" I couldn't help but tease her after hearing the slight hesitation in her voice. "And will you please tell me where we are going?" I asked her. The more time it was taking her to find what she was looking for, the more curious I was becoming.

"I wanted to show you something, it's more like a place." She answered me while slowing down her steps. "I won't call it my favorite, but I am sure that you will come to adore it." She added.

I could make out the sarcasm with which her words were laced. 'What are you up to, Amara?' I thought to myself.

Her steps finally came to a sudden halt which only forced mine to stop. If it wasn't for my keen observance, I might have ended up colliding with her back. She was too abrupt at times with her actions, almost always.

"Well, first things first! The paste, where did you get it?" She spoke as she leaned her back against a wide stock.

"I made it." I answered her question. "And before you ask me how, let's just say I have a whole bunch of books about celestial knowledge. They do come handy at times like this." I added.

Though it wasn't the whole truth, it wasn't a lie either. Dana was the one who had taught me how to make it to fasten the healing process of her injuries when we first met. Later on, I found the recipe in one of the books which belonged to her.

It was a good thing that I was able to recall that. It surely looked like she needed it more than I thought.

"And the intensity of the stinging sensation will reduce as your injury heals. So it won't hurt like last night the next time you apply it." I turned the topic back to her. I didn't know why, but the feeling of lying to her didn't settle well with me.

'Is this how one's supposed to feel when they lie to their other half, their soulmate?'

I couldn't help but question myself as I stared into her heterochromic eyes.

"Oh!" She let out an unenthusiastic response as she gave me a slight nod.

Her response only made me doubt myself. I was worried as to whether or not she was buying my words. Nervousness was slowly beginning to creep up my spine as I waited for her lips to move once again, and fill my ears with the same sweet melody I had begun to adore.

"Last night after I was done putting on the concoction on my palm and the pain died down a little, a question popped up in my mind." She finally spoke up, but her words only added to my dilemma.

"What question?" The words left my lips before my mind could even think it through.

"How were you able to locate my dorm room?" She held my gaze and uttered out the words, one at a time.

Before I could come up with an answer, she continued. "I had quite a sleepless night just because the question kept bugging me again and again."

"Will you take my words that I used a locator spell?" I scratched the back of my head meekly, knowing fully well that she wouldn't do so.

"No!" She exclaimed. "There's no way that an angel can perform such a spell. You can just use your essence to perform simple spells. A locator spell would have required you to have an assistant of a witch, but they are restricted to their realm."

"I-I…" I tried to come up with an answer, but I failed miserably.

"You know that I got out of bed in the middle of the night when a bulb lit up in my mind. Want to know more about my bulb?" She gave me a faint smile as her orbs glinted with mischief.
