Flicker Of Hatred

"Why these? I mean these are the symbol of despair and...and sadness. Are you feeling discomfort while living here with me, Amaris?"

Ronan's eyes filled with disappointment, having multiple questions humming and buzzing in his mind. Although, he was aware of the cause that Amaris was unhappy because of the truth about her father.

But he wanted her to spit out what was troubling her, to spill the beans herself.

"It is just I have seen and went through many things, that I still remember...are stored as horrible memories in my mind."

Amaris stated the things which were troubling her, stewing in her mind since day one.

The heiress could not bring herself to forget let alone erase the memories from her brain. Although she had left her homeland Russia and flew to the USA, in order to escape from the gruesome truth.

"I do not know Ronan, I...I'm unable to swallow the fact that my own father is a killer."

Amaris could not take it anymore inside her, she felt as if her fragile heart would explode any soon.

The lady burst into tears, as a warm stream of water crawled down on her cheeks upon the reminder. The recalling of the day when she overheard her father's conversation with his trustworthy right hand man.

Ronan immediately grabbed her hand tightly pulled up her chin, as his thumbs wipped off the tears from her rosy cheeks.

"Listen here, Amaris... it is life, my love. We do not know what is coming ahead and who or how the next person is.....and as I said earlier, I am with you and will always be no matter wherever you go or whatever you do."

The lord caressed her cheek as if he was pampering a saddened child, then he took one flower from the bouquet in her hand and placed it into the vase.

"Let's just place these Crysanthemums along with hyacinths and see...it is life. Happiness always accompany sadness. Do not ever lose hope, good days are coming."

Ronan Ross patted on her head like a little cry baby, of course he needed something to divert her attention from the memories of the past.

Thus, Ronan chuckled softly and glanced at his woman, the one whom he loved with the core of his heart. His every single cell of the body was feeling the pain of his beloved, Ronan felt as if his heart had gotten shrunk.

"Silly, cheer up, my love!"

His voice pricked her ears, as Ronan Ross embraced Amaris into his strong arms.

[Past memory ended]

Back into the present time Ronan Ross was partially immersed into the remembrance of the halcyon days with his wife. Of course, being completely zoned out was out of the question for his all rounder and mighty image.

The sharp brain of the underworld completely had the knowledge of his surroundings, his senses were fully awakened and the lord was aware of the workers in the flower shop.

Always one step ahead, Ronan Ross.

The man had kept his image well throughout his life but only Niall could sense the endless sorrow within the heart of his master.

No one could see through the stone faced facade of the ruthless Lord, that a soft hearted and emotional had been in the need of help since the past six years.

"Hello, sir. How can I help you?"

It was the very moment when a sweet voice reached his ears, as the mafia king averted his dazzling orbs towards the lady in front of him.

Of course, the young heiress had kept her expressions normal as not to raise any suspicion. But perhaps Ronan's exceptional brain, which had bamboozled every task thrown at him by life or enemies, depicted an unsual expression!

"Oh, yes. I'm looking for special flowers for a wonderful woman."

Ronan Ross wore a genuine smile on his lips, the cunning man did not show his true intentions.

He directly asked for a flower bouquet for a woman, perhaps for the caller.

Might be. A possible assumption though.

Ronan knew that to check for any resemblance related to Amaris, in the woman who currently stood in front of his eyes, hee needed to proceed with a play!

Thus, the sly man pretended to be a customer rather blowing up hos so called disguise of 'I'm just an ordinary citizen'.

"Oh yes, sure sir. If you do not mind can I ask sire...why do you look familiar?"

Renna leaned in, closer to his face nearly behaving like a crazy fan who had just seen her crush!

A lopsided grin appeared on Ronan's face imminently as soon as the words pricked his ears.
