Chapter 17 - To Upgrade or not

While Hina and Himari were fighting with each other over the name of the clan, Ernie walked toward the stone hut that was in the center of the place.

It was really small and wasn't made well at all, more as if someone threw the place together quickly. Ernie could tell that it was pretty old due to some dust he could spot here and there once he opened the door.

The stone hut would be more than enough to hold him and the girls, but the problem came when they would become older.

They would all grow in height, and this place would not be able to hold all three of them then. Ernie thought maybe they should make a new house, but not one made out of earth or stone.

However, he did not know how to construct a home and he knew that Hina and Himari didn't know either.

[Are you sure you would like to settle here?]

A message window popped up in front of him.

Seeing it, Ernie nodded his head and said yes.

[Quest completed!]

Ernie has come a long way considering the amount of time he spent in this world. His Yin release was new, as it appeared after he first tried out his Reitgan, meaning that dojutsu enabled him to use yin type jutsu's. However, Ernie could never manage to create any. Maybe it was due to his low level in it, or due to there being something he did not know. Whichever the case may be, it always bothered him.

Seeing that he had attribute points now, Ernie wasn't going to lie and say he wasn't excited. Because he was.

He looked at his status window thoroughly and made sure to read the note at the bottom of the window. It seemed pretty interesting.

He clicked on water release, which was already level 10, seemingly the max it could go considering he's never leveled it up in the 7 years he's been here.

Ernie was in a daze as he looked at the window.

"Guess 10 isn't the max level, but still a 100 points? System is crazy, so expensive."

Ernie shook his head and clicked on yin release.

"..."

Ernie was silent, even the level 1 yin release he couldn't upgrade.

"Whatever, lets look at skills."

He first clicked on Ice Needle, which the window brought him various screens.

[Technique has reached max level, user can learn the variation Ten Thousand Ice Petals or Swallow Snow Storm. Attribute points required 15/15.]

Ernie liked his Ice Needle technique, it was easy to use and due to his high mastery in it, it was hard for the ice to melt from fire. The good thing was that the system told him the max level for skills was level 10, which meant he could get his other skills to 10 and learn different techniques. Wasn't a bad deal, but he just felt the cost was a bit high for him at the moment.

Ernie closed the window and picked a level 1 skill instead, like Ice Sword Technique.

Closing the window once more, Ernie shook his head.

There was no need for him to spend his points right now, as he lacked many points currently. Still, he did want to try one thing.

"Welp, was worth a try."

He still did not know what enhance meant, but it would definitely be an upgrade to what he has now. Maybe it would lessen the chakra use or unlock some mystical techniques.

One thing Ernie did know was that with the introduction of attribute points, he'd be able to get stronger easier.

Walking out of the stone hut, he saw Hina and Himari breathing heavily as they both sat on the ground. They both had bruises on their bodies.

"So, who won?"

Ernie asked while trying to hold back his laughter.

"We've agreed on Asagao for the clan name."

Hina said with a bitter smile on her face.

Himari was at her side with a trumphic look as she held her head high.

"The Asagao clan huh? Doesn't sound bad, I like it!"

Ernie said in an approving nod.

"From today forward, is the birth of the Asagao clan! With me as the clan leader, and you two as my wives."

Ernie said with a laugh.

Both Hina and Himari cheered.

Ernie was a bit disappointed that he did not complete the marriage ties quest, considering Hina and Himari agreed to be his wives. Maybe he needed to do a marriage ceremony to make it official.

Two figures appeared behind Hina and Himari.

Ernie quickly recognized them both.

"Yui, Aito! I thought the two of you went back to the Sodachi clan."

Ernie said.

"We've been following you for some time now Ernie, we still have business with each other."

Aito said coolly.

Yui looked at Hina and Himari with a curious gaze.

"Right, the medical herbs."

Ernie said as he looked at Hina and Himari.
