Interlude

In the eyes of Tom...

Miss Hailey will enjoy today's report after that she needs privacy I guess so I'll leave after I organized these reports for ease of reading... After a few minutes, "Hey, Mr. Tom?" A voice behind me of a woman so I turn to her and it's Mrs. Kirkstoic. "Yes? Mrs. Kirkstoic is something a matter?" Kailey Kirkstoic, Miss Hailey's mother called me for something and I don't know about it. "Can you come with me I've got to show you something. Let's go to my lab and this is serious Tom, no one should see this only you and Hailey's father knows this." She says that with a serious tone... I entered the lab and I replied. "Uhh... Mrs. Kirkstoic? Where is it?" It's kinda dark in the lab but then everything felt heavy all of the sudden... My body feels nothing... I can't feel my body it's... Shutting down... Why...? Mrs. Kirk-...

In Mrs. Kirkstoic's perspective...

"Finally some peace, time for work then! Wow, he's a heavy boy." He's a great young man, he's nice to Hailey and he helps her at any given moment... But I will try something for this young boy. This experiment will either be great for my daughter or else... She will hate me till the end of time if this fails... Commencing. Project Angel! "Ma'am Kailey isn't this Miss Hailey's assistant? Aren't we going overboard on doing this experiment on him? I mean he's young! And he's a healthy young man at that with the recent health checkups." I replied from their questions. "I know this is risky but if we succeed Hailey might do the 'Miracle' if she succeeds in awakening the pendant. And we will have one of the mysteries of our Founding Father's mysterious revival from a lethal blow. I hope that we'll succeed in this I spent so many hours on this research and I read all of the archives." The lead doctor replied. "Well... Okay then... Commencing phase 1!" Phase 1, the first part of this project we're we inject a special medicine through Tom's veins, it'll be used later on but as we inject it'll hit a spike on Tom's heartrate so we'll be injecting it slowly and at a proper pace to prevent the veins from exploding and cause internal bleeding. The liquid is dense so it'll increase Tom's weight by 2 kg, why do we need to do this first? This in preparation for the nervous system modification since the liquid will reinforce the blood vessels for the extreme forces that the nerves will deal during phases 3 and 4 since the nerves will be enhanced for increased reactivity, alertness, endurance, longevity, and possibly revival... What we're doing here is the same but not completely like overclocking the nervous system. Some modifications here and there and some redundant safety features, later on, we'll be added at the last phases of this project. As of today, only one prototype is being fine-tuned while Tom here will be the first full version of our project. The bad thing is that the prototype is struggling to keep its heart stable. And no the prototype isn't a true human... More like an artificial human with lab-made organs that are almost near the real human organ's spec. And honestly, since we've done testing the prototype in a controlled environment we don't know what will happen to Tom after this since his body isn't a controlled environment. After the nervous system then the lungs to support the extra load that the heart will pump out. This project will last more than a month so we need to lie to Hailey that Tom had a vacation outside the country for a while with his relatives. But the time we estimated it may be underestimated... Come on just this once...

5 Hours later into the project and he's been very stable. All of his organs are still intact and all functional. All is well for now and I think Tom is holding on. From his face has this tension build-up I guess he still feels some pain. "We need to increase the dosage of anesthesia," I said... They replied. "But Ma'am there's the possibility that Tom might shut down if we inject more," I replied. "No, we need more he is still reacting." They saw his face and did what they were told to. Tom... I'm sorry for all of this but it's for Hailey and everyone here. "Ma'am! There was a spike on his nervous system." I was shocked when I saw the graph... It shot out of the screen and we can't measure it as of right now but what happened exactly? "What did you saw in his vitals?" One of my assistants replied. "Uhh... His heart rate also suddenly spike and all of his organs synced itself..." Wh-what? Synced? Tom, what happened inside of you?

In Tom's unconscienced mind...

"Tom McClain... Assistant of my Great Great Granddaughter." Uhh... I woke up in an unknown place then a guy started to talk to me. "Uhh... I'm sorry to ask but who are you? And why do you know my name?" He replied. "I'm the person who everyone knows in the family." After hearing that I knew that I've become dumb for not knowing that he's... "Mr. Neal Kirkstoic!?" I replied in a surprised

tone. Then He replied. "Yup, now let's end the formality here I came here in your unconscious mind for a gift of thanks from me directly. You've been exposed to our family's Golden Week and you've been close with Hailey so I'll give you a gift that will benefit you and the experiment they're currently doing on your body..." I stopped to think when I heard what he said... "Wait who's experimenting on me?!" I replied screaming. He replied. "Hailey's mother is currently doing some enhancements with your body for reasons I can't tell you yet because I did understand where she's going with this. I recommend that you calm down and let them finish because at the end of the Golden Week Hailey would completely lose herself. And I need you to bring her to my lab the original lab underground. And let her read Vol. 0 of my archive." Vol. 0? I thought that was a myth... "So you'll do it?" I replied from his request. "If you can see what's happening can you estimate what day this experiment will be finished?" He replied. "Around Thursday night time. That'll be enough to finish the archive before Friday ends. So please hold on and be strong do this for Hailey. I'm begging you, the gift I'm giving you is important from your investigations of my sudden revival during my time. If you do what I told you, the rewards that you'll get from it will change your life, forever..." After that, I thought to myself... Am I gonna, do it? Of course, I should! Mr. Neal here is expecting me to save Hailey from herself. "I'm doing it. What do you need me to do for me to succeed? And I'll do it even if I have to risk everything!" He replied. "Good now listen closely..." We conversed through my unconscious days...
