Dinner With The Family

Thirty-five minutes later. They finally arrived in the Infinity Jade Tower.

They all gathered in the living room, after a few minutes of chatting, they finally went to the dining table to start eating the feast which Sandra and Catherine had ordered and prepared for the special occasion.

Only John, Catherine, Caroline, Hector, and Clara were present in the dining table because Sandra and Romeo were attending a birthday party of another close relative, the couple will visit the new arrivals the next day.

There were six different dishes prepared deliciously in the table, four main dishes, and two mouthwatering deserts.

There was not much conversation happening around the table because they all focused their attention on the yummy foods in front of them.

The dining room has a pleasant atmosphere that evening.

One hour later.

Done eating dinner, they retire into the living room.

While baby Cathy was still sleeping in another crib, Caroline was delighted to be able to hug and kiss baby Jame's again after a long time of absence. "Aww, you're so big now my little one!" she murmured at her adorable nephew.

Baby James looked at his Aunt and smiled, probably recognizing her as her mother.

After spending a few minutes playing with baby James...Caroline went to the next crib and lifted baby Angel in her arms to get to know her niece. "She looks like you, sister!" she gushes.

"To be precise, she looks like us!" Catherine giggled.

The twins shared a laugh.

Done playing with her niece, Caroline returned baby Angel into the crib.

After a while, Caroline's face turns serious. "I miss Mother, Lily, Jacob, and cousin Grace. When can I see them?" she said.

"As soon as you settled into your new house, they are ready to come and visit you anytime you want. I can call Grace later to inform her that you want to see them...when do you like them to come?" Catherine asked.

"Two days after..." she answered.

"Okay, I will inform them," Catherine stated.

Caroline was silent for a moment.

While she was still vacationing in Thailand Caroline she has been thinking about relocating her mother and two siblings to live with her, because she would feel lonely living alone in the house with just baby Cathy as her companion. It would be nice to be surrounded by the same familiar loving faces of her mother and younger siblings. Her cousin Grace is also welcome to live with them or visit them anytime she wants. She acknowledges how kind and generous Grace was to their family during their moments of difficulties. She wants to return the favor this time. "Sis, I decided to have mother, Lily and Jacob stay in the house with me, what do you think?" she asked.

Catherine was weighing the pros and cons if her family will stay with Caroline. Honestly, she can't find any disadvantages. It will be emotionally and psychologically beneficial for her sister to be surrounded by her loved ones than staying alone in the house with her small baby. "I was planning to hire a housemaid to accompany you in that house, but your suggestion today is a much better option. I will talk to mother later."

Clara overheard the sister's conversation while playing with her grandson baby James. "I will temporarily accompany you in the house, Caroline, while you still don't have a companion there," she offered.

"Thank you, Mother!" Caroline said.

Clara smiled and turned her attention back to her grandson, while Hector was also busy playing with his granddaughter baby Angel who was still wide awake during that moment, baby Cathy was still sleeping soundly in the crib.

On the other hand, John was talking to Romeo on his phone.

Caroline looked at her sister. "Let me see your wedding gown!" she said excitedly.

"Okay, follow me, it's in our bedroom," Catherine replied.

The twins rose to their feet and left the living room to go to the master's bedroom.

Catherine opened the closet and took out the wedding gown and showed it to her sister. "Tada! Here it is!" she said, beaming.

Caroline admired the excellent embroidery of the wedding gown. "Wow, you had a beautiful and elegant looking wedding gown, sis! I'm impressed!" she exclaimed.

Catherine smiled radiantly. "Yeah, it looks so nice and so pretty, indeed!" she was the one who chosen the gown design and Sandra praised her excellent taste.

"I'm so excited to attend your wedding, sis!" Caroline said. Then all of a sudden sadness engulfed her face. "I wonder if I will ever walk the aisle... one day?" she murmured.

Catherine heard her twin's musing. She wrapped her arms around her sister's shoulder. "Don't worry, you're still young, you will meet your soulmate sooner or later. Just don't rush...be patient in waiting for the right one to come along," she said. "True love cannot be rushed, you have to remember that," she added.

"I agree, sis," Caroline said.

"And what happened to your boyfriend back home? The druggie one?" Catherine asked, out of curiosity.

Caroline remembered Greg, with deep sadness, a fleeting longing marred her happy face for a split second. Greg is the guy that was her first love, the man she had given everything. "Ah...um...we lose contact with each other after he was listed as a wanted man due to his involvement in illegal drugs in our province. He no longer contacts me and I can not reach him anymore. He probably has forgotten me already..."

Catherine asked, "Do you still love him?"

"I dunno. I have to see him again just to confirm if I still love him. We never had a formal break up, so I sometimes think of him. Now and then I was wondering what happened to him," Caroline answered.

"There is no news about him anymore, I guess he already hides far away. Very far from the reach of the local police authorities," Catherine elaborated.

Caroline wondered if she didn't leave Greg's side all this time, what happened to her life? Maybe she and Joseph will never meet in this lifetime. Maybe she already becomes the mother of Greg's children and they will still be hiding from the authorities until now. She doesn't know if she and Greg will meet again in this lifetime.

"You're okay, sis?" Catherine asked her twin after she noticed that her sister become silent.

Caroline was awakened from her reverie. "Yes, I'm okay. I just remember Greg and our happy times," she responded.

Catherine put the wedding gown back inside the closet. "Come, let's go back now to the living room so that we can proceed to your new house..."

One hour later.

Catherine, John, Clara, Caroline, and baby Cathy boarded the vehicle going to the house John purchased for his sister-in-law.
