Chapter 5

A few days have passed and it is now Saturday. I haven't seen or heard from Mike since the day he kissed me, it's a relief but it's also a bit unsettling. I don't know if he's ok or anything and I haven't checked on him so I feel kinda bad. Heidi said not to worry about it and just give him some time to think about everything and relax so that's what I'm doing.

I'm just sitting in my room bored when my grandma calls me.

"Krystal! I want you to go water the backyard!" My grandma shouts loudly.

"Why grandma? It's just dirt and concrete." I reply in a whiny voice.

"Because I want the dirt wet so I can see those bastards footprints for when the come to spray!" She shouts back.

"Grandma no one comes to spray and plus you said they spray the front yard." I reply and roll my eyes.

"They spray everywhere! They want me dead!"

"Whatever grandma. Everyone knows no one is trying to kill you." I groan and close my door to get dressed, once I'm changed I head to the front door. "Keys." I groan at her, she takes out the keys and hands them to me.

I go unlock the numerous gates we have in the backyard and grab the water hose and turn it on. I go all the way to the side of the house where the bedrooms are and freeze because I see footprints. My heart starts pounding and then drops to the ground. I shakily follow the footprints and see that they lead to my window, I'm now scared beyond words.

I rush back to the house and slow down once I get to the front door. I squeeze inside and grab the house phone and call my best friend and basically my brother Jason. His mom and I are best friends and she sees me as the daughter she never had. I dial the number and she answers.

"Hello Krystal." Roberta says happily.

"Hey, is Jason around?"

"Yeah he's in his room why?"

"Can I talk to him please?"

"Sure hold on." She says nicely but it's obvious she's curious why I'd call and ask for him. I hear her put the phone down and go get him, he soon comes and answers the phone.

"Hi Krissy boo." He teases making me giggle although I don't want to.

"Hey, Jason can you come over please? I want to talk to you about something." I tell him as seriously as I can.

"Sure. Let me slip some shoes on and I'll be over."

"Ok. See you soon." I reply and hang up. I head to the front door and squeeze past my grandma and head to the front gate to unlock it. Once it's unlocked I wait and soon see Jason come walking up. "Hey, thanks for coming." I tell him quietly as I open the gate.

"Of course I'd come, what's going on?" He asks with concern and hugs me, I stiffen at the hug and he sighs sadly. "Still not used to being hugged I see."

"I'm not used to any kind of affection honestly. But that's not important I need you to come with me but act like you just came by to talk. Please. I'll explain soon." I tell him pleadingly, he nods and we walk up to the door. "Grandma Jason came by to chat so he's going to talk to me while I water and keep me company."

"Whatever. As long as you do it. I know he's gay so he won't do anything to you." She says through the door. We head to the back and I stop him right before the dirt area.

"Jason. You heard grandma wants me to water back here and you know about her paranoia of people spraying."

"Yeah. I honestly think she's crazy."

"I do too. But....look." I tell him nervously and motion him to follow me, he does and I point to the footsteps and he gasps loudly. "You know it's just us so who made these?!" I whisper yell to him.

"I don't know! This is strange." He says in disbelief as he follows them and notices where they lead. "Krystal isn't this your room?!" He whisper yells and I nod in reply. He examines the area and suddenly looks pissed. "Krystal they can see into your room, someone's been peaking at you." He says with anger in his voice. "Oh Krystal! You have the water hose?"

"Yeah it's right here why?" I ask as I point to the ground where I dropped it.

"They came all over your wall." He says with disgust.

"They what?" I ask with confusion and make a weird face.

"They came, ejaculated, you know masturbated and shot cum all over your wall by your window." He explains causing me to gasp then blush bright red. "We should probably call the police." He sighs and goes to leave.

"NO!" I whisper yell and rush him. "My grandma will really be paranoid then and I'd be under lock and key 24/7! She'd probably even board up the windows and I'd never be allowed to see the light of day!" I whisper yell and look at him pleadingly.

"But Krystal you have a peeping Tom and if we call the police they can run dna tests to find out who it is and arrest them." He tells me firmly, I just look at him sadly making him sigh. "Fine. I won't say anything but you need to be careful Krissy. We don't know who it is or what they are capable of. You need to block off your window so they can't see in and we need to wash all this off."

"Thank you Jason. I wanted to tell you so you know what's going on. I was so scared when I saw the footprints."

"I'll keep it a secret but only because I don't want you locked up again. I remember the shock mom had when you told her where you lived. No one knew anyone but your grandma lived there." He says sadly.

"Everyone was shocked when they found out. She kept me under strict lock and key and hardly let me do anything but watch tv. I was so thankful when I broke free."

"So were we and we still are. We are happy you took a stand and started breaking free of her grip." Jason says while smiling. "Come on, let's wash this off and hose everything down like your paranoid grandma wants." He sighs, I nod and hand him the hose while I go turn the water on.

We soak the backyard and wash off the wall and make extra sure everything is clean and untouched as we move on to the rest of the backyard. We chat and talk about everything and I told him about the situation with Mike and I watched his face suddenly show shock.

"Krystal. I think it might be Mike that did that. I could be wrong but it would make sense if it was him."

"Maybe? He doesn't seem like the type to do that though..."

"They never do Krystal." He says firmly and looks at me. "Be careful, be watchful and be on the lookout for anything suspicious."

"I will and if I see anything I'll let you know." I tell him reassuringly but I honestly feel scared to death now.

He makes sense. It probably is Mike but would he go that far as to stalk me and visit my window at night? That's probably why I never felt comfortable with him, because I felt he was off somehow. I guess it was my gut telling me to be careful and I of course didn't listen and went ahead and dated him and now look, I have a stalker.

"It'll be ok Krystal. You have me and now that I know what's going on, I promise to protect you. No one will hurt you, you're my little sister and I love you like you are my blood sister." Jason says softly and reassuringly.

"Thank you." I whisper in a weak voice because I'm scared. We walk to the front where my grandma is and stand on the porch. "All done grandma."

"Good I want evidence that I'm right! They've been sneaking in here somehow to spray and since they know I watch the front they've been coming in through the back!"

"Nelly you know that's not what's going on..." Jason starts but decides to stop.

"You don't know what's been going on here!" My grandma shouts then waves him off. "You guys go and talk or something but no funny business."

"Grandma he's gay and he's like twice my age." I groan and start to walk off.

"A guys a guy!" She snaps. Jason turns to say something but I grab his arm and pull him away.

"She really thinks I'd try to mess with you?!" He whisper yells and looks beyond shocked and insulted.

"You know my grandma is paranoid. To her a guy will always want a girl even if he says he's gay and age doesn't matter to her."

"I'm 31 and your 15! I've got 16 years on you! You could be my daughter for heavens sake!" He whisper yells. "Plus you know if I even looked at you inappropriately mom would kill me!"

"I know that and so does my grandma but to her it doesn't matter." I sigh and look at him. "Thank you for everything. I'm happy I have a brother like you to look out for me. Even if you aren't blood related."

"I know you feel alone a lot but you're not, I hope you know that." He says softly and hugs me tightly.  "If you EVER need me you just call me, I don't care what time it is."

"I will. Don't worry." I reassure him and smile.

"Good. I'll go home now so your grandma doesn't think anything bad. Remember what I said." He tells me as he pulls away from the hug and heads to the gate, he opens it and steps outside. He smiles at me then starts walking home, I close the gate and lock it then head back to the house.

"He left?" My grandma asks as I approach the door.

"Yes grandma." I groan and open the front door.

I just head into my room and play music while I read, I have nothing else to do and I'm not really a phone talker so I won't call anyone. I get engulfed in my book and find that hours have gone by when I hear my grandma call my name. I groan and look at the time to see that it's evening already so she's probably calling to see what I want for dinner.

"Yeah?!" I call out as I open my room door

"What do you want for dinner?" She replies, I roll my eyes and go look at the menu she has for the local restaurant that delivers.

I pick what I want and head back into my room. After a while she calls me to come get my food so I do and head back in my room. I eat and keep reading my book, more hours pass and I finally finish my book. I look at the time and see it almost midnight, I decide to change clothes and soon hear a crack at my window like it popped.

I shrug it off since this is a old house and just keep changing, once I'm changed I climb into bed and grab my teddy bear and cuddle up with it. I hear another pop and jump because my window is right by my bed. Memories of what Jason said about Mike start to flood my head and I start to get scared. I hide under the blankets and start trembling.

The sounds eventually stop and I tell myself that it was nothing and if it was Mike that he got discouraged and left. I take deep breaths and calm myself and finally fall asleep.
