Chapter 2

After a while, Alex stopped crying. The three of them lay on the green grass near the area that they lived in.

This place was their favorite spot. It's their haven.

They can see the tall buildings in the city. The cars running on the road. Alex dreams to be a part of that world.

Alex got up and sat on the grass, observing the city.

"I want to be rich one day too." She said, dreamily while sighing.

'I want to help mom out there…' she thought, her eyes start watering as she remembers her mother.

"—pffttt, I think the probability that that will happen is about 0.0000--- OUCHH!"

Before Seth could finish his calculations, Alex punched his stomach gently, a little annoyed at his 'probability'.

"You little kitty…" Hissing from the pain, Seth got up and was about to pounce on Alex when Zeno stopped him.

"Guys, quit fighting alright?" He said in a tired manner.

'when you fight, I'm the one that drains energy most.' He silently complained. Deep inside this young fellow, he was crying because this two kids beside him, were quite energetic and fights a lot so he needs to be the referee somehow.

'huhu, I'm so pitiful. ༼ಢ_ಢ༽'

Alex looked at Seth and sticks her tongue at him in a playful manner.

"bleh, bleh, ble, bleh, bleh!" She mouthed.

Seth stared at the little kitty that's tempting him to do evil deeds.

"Stop that… or else." He warned.

"Or else what?" Alex dared.

"or else I'll turn into a… tickle monster. RAWRRRRR!!!"

"AHHHHHHHH" Alex cried. She was about to run but Seth was faster than her. He pounced on her.

"NOOOOOOO!" Alex yelled.

Zeno couldn't help but slapped his face with his hand.

'Here we go again.' (◞‸ლ)

"NOOOO!!! STOP! STOP IT! HAHAHA…" Alex helplessly shouted as Seth begins to tickle her.

"Learn your lesson now." Seth laughed as he keeps on tickling Alex on her neck, hips and other sensitive parts of her that he knows.

"STOOOPPPP—HAHAHA… can't breathe…" Alex said breathing heavily from all the tickling.

"GUYS, STOP THIS NOW!" Zeno growled at the two.

Hearing not a thing but Alex's laughter, Seth continued to tickle Alex until she's almost out of breath from laughing.

Zeno looked at his brother who is laughing happily. He couldn't help but smile as well. Ever since they were young, he never saw his brother laugh like this. He always wears his lazy expressionless face but when they arrived in this place and met Alexandra, he changed.

He still has that lazy face on him but the difference is, he can show different emotions now.

Alex gained the upper hand and starts to tickle Seth back.

"Zeno, help meee!" Returning back from his dazed state, Zeno looked at them.

He smiled mysteriously.

"Okay, you ask for this guys." Zeno laughed in a creepy manner, making Seth and Alex stopped their actions. He approached the two and pounced on them like a mad man.

They rolled down the hill as they laughed together.

Reaching the bottom of the hill, their hair is completely disheveled. Their clothes are dirty as well as their faces but they seemed to be oblivious at that fact as they enjoy this moment like nothing really matters.

Exhausted, they lie down as they stared at the sky. The moon is big and round and million stars where wrapping around it, shimmering in the night sky. It looks really beautiful. More beautiful than the city.

"Living a simple life is better than living in that city."

Seth murmured softly reaching the ears to the two person who's with him.

"Hmm… I bet the people there can't see this beautiful sight above them since it's all smoky and polluted in there." Zeno added, agreeing to his twin.

Alex pouted at the two.

"Still, I want to be rich to be able to eat all the food that I want." She whispered.

"All you think about is food." Seth commented.

"it's because I don't want the green soup mama D makes. It's so disgusting and slimy! I bet you don't as well!" Alex babbled as she remembers the legendary 'green soup'.

The two boys laughed merrily at her remarks.

"Yeah, it does tastes disgusting." Zeno agreed.

Remembering the soup, the three couldn't help but shiver.

"At least it's healthy…" a voice said.

The two boys froze as they heard the voice.

"But it tastes unpleasant and smells odd." Alex complained, completely unaware that the person who makes the soup is standing near them.

Sensing the boys silence, she looked up to the source of the voice earlier and she couldn't help but turn pale.

"mama D…" she whispered, almost inaudible.

"These kids, I've been looking all over for you!" The old woman said in a high-pitched tone.

The three children automatically got up and tried to straighten their crumpled and dirty clothes.

"Sorry mama D…" They said in unison as they walk back home.

Mama D is the one who takes care of this three children.

Alex's father died when she was still a baby because of a sickness while her mother works in the city as a nanny, she always comes home every Sunday and goes back every Monday.

Her mother is always exhausted so Alex never asks her mother to play with her. She hates seeing her mother tired from work so she vowed that she will be rich someday, somehow, to help her mother and to eat delicious foods as well.

Her mother asks mama D to take care of her so she was always with the old woman ever since she was a baby.

The two boys, Zeno and Seth, were found on the road by the village leader, two months ago. Both of them were wounded, since then, mama D took care of the 2 boys because they couldn't remember who they were, only their first names, and the village doctor mentioned something about "trauma".

So since then, they became siblings and mama D is the one who takes care of them because she has no husband nor children.

"uh, what's for dinner?" Alex hesitantly asked as they sat on the chair for their meal, her stomach growling from playing all day long.

"The green soup." Mama D said as she chuckles.

The three kids paled as they heard their mama D.

"This is like the 50th times already…" Zeno whispered as he shivers.

"Hahaha, just kidding kids." The old woman said in a soft manner.

"Tonight, we have meat!" She declared.

"YEAHHHHHH!"

The kids exclaimed happily.

"Meat! This is the best! Thank you mama D."

They said as they hug and kiss the old woman. The old woman laughed at their actions as she hugs them back as well.

In a starry night, people were rushing and crowding. Far away from there, is a small hut, wrapped in warmness as the kids and their mama D enjoy a small feast.

Who would've thought this feast would be their last…?
