Group Arrival

On the other side of the radio

A group of survivors were huddled around the radio listening intently. When the broadcaster finished speaking, the group began discussing what their next move is.

"Should we check that place out? There could be supplies!"

"I think we should go!"

"What if they're lying though? I mean, we don't even know who they are. It could be a trap and I'd rather stay here, the food and water will also last longer so we can take our time."

"I also think it'd be best if we stay and wait for the army!"

While the group was discussing if they should check if the broadcaster was speaking the truth or if they should wait for the military to arrive and rescue them, the mother in the back of the group was lost in thought.

'Where did I here that voice before?'

The mother was contemplating whether it was possible she heard that voice somewhere. And after racking her brain for a while, she wasn't able to remember who's voice it was. The mother simply pushed the voice to the back of her head and considered where to stay or go. Going would mean she'd have to walk through the monsters and search for food and drinks for her daughter or stay and pray for the army to arrive. The mother knew the remaining food wouldn't last long with the group of about 40 people they had joined.

The only option left would be to hope the broadcaster was saying the truth and had supplies. But leaving alone would be the same as suicide so the mother could only hope the group wished to check the address where supplies should be. The mother chose to speak up and voice her opinion in hopes more people would agree.

"I think we should go, too. Our food and water won't last us much more and some of the food is already rotting rapidly."

When the group heard the mother, most started agreeing, but didn't really want to go in fear of becoming a monster.

The group also noticed the food they had stored was rotting quickly.

Alex also knew this fact and knew that anything made before the apocalypse happened would turn to dust quickly and only items made after the apocalypse would last.

Alex knew this was made to allow the 'Merchant' to be able sell items much easier and also promote products that are only available from the 'Merchant'.

Away from the group was a man eyeing the mother. He was a cop before the apocalypse happened, but didn't have much power. But now that the apocalypse had started, even though only 1 day had passed, he was able to gain control over the group by acting like a righteous cop. Everyone listened to him but a woman, the mother.

He couldn't stand not having the mother not listen to him adding onto he fact she was beautiful and could rival some women in their mid 20's.

Taking this chance to gain her respect and admiration, he spoke to persuade the large group.

"Listen up! I believe we should check out this broadcaster or whoever he is. I know most people feel unsettled in leaving our home, but as Gabriela spoke, supplies are not going to last long and are rotting as well! Our only hope would be to visit the address. And besides, who would be able to freely give away if not the military! We can also send in a group to check while the people who wish to stay can stay and we'll return with supplies for everyone!"

Ending his speech, Brian glanced at Gabriela and noticed her nod and nodded back.

Brian simply glanced before turning back to the group.

A large majority of the group were hesitating before hearing his last sentences.

"Yeah, no one would have enough supplies and extra to give away besides the army!"

"I think I'd rather risk it and go."

"No, I still think it'd be better and safer to stay here. We can call for help if we really need any and Brian said he would bring supplies back."

Most people were persuaded to go while a small majority, mostly involving women with children, chose to stay behind.

After the group was separated into 2 groups: the members going were called 'Scouts' consisted of 31 people and the 'Guard Dogs' staying behind consisted of 12 people.

After arming themselves with some knives and some pistols they had bought before the apocalypse, the Scouts exited the building.

The mother was armed with a pistol and had her daughter by her side.

Brian glanced at the back of the group where the mother was located before turning to face forward.

"Let's go!!"

...

Back at the booth where Alex was located, the inside of the wall was completely empty with only the cement and grass left.

With the function to see the land as a grid, Alex was able to store the buildings in his <<Storage>> turning the buildings into the materials used to build them.

After collecting all the building, Alex sold the materials for 850 Krypto Coins. The materials weren't worth much the but quantity was.

Now Alex was able to buy items necessary and sell them for triple the price he bought them for. If the survivors weren't able to hunt creatures and collect Krypto coins there was nothing Alex could do for them, or more specifically, would do for them.

He wouldn't mind letting people stay inside the walls if they payed him for the duration of their stay and if he so wanted to, wouldn't let them in.

Being a 'Merchant' didn't mean Alex had to do everything the people wanted, that wasn't his job, all Alex had to do was be the middle man in transporting the supplies to the world and as long as 1 person bought an from him, he would be able to not sell to anyone else.

But of course, not selling to anyone after selling to just 1 person would be against one of the rules Alex knew of and the system that assisted him would be removed.

Now that everything was ready, Alex just needed to wait for someone that heard him or somehow stumbled upon the gigantic wall to appear and buy supplies from him.

...

Walking through the streets, a group of men and women can be seen. And in front of this

group of 20 or so people stood a large wall. The length of the walls was tremendous, but the height being only 20 meters made it seem a bit odd.

The base they had gathered at was only a few blocks away from the wall. And now that they arrived at the wall, their thoughts of this being a military base increase as did their hope for survival.

Along the way, they had tried to sneak past zombies, but some creatures noticed the group of survivors and dragged themselves towards the group.

Although everyone in the group agreed to be 'Scouts', they weren't able to hide their fear when a creature walked to them.

With their decaying flesh and bloody appearance, the group called these creatures 'Zombies'.

Only a few brave men attacked the zombies that got closer, but all of them felt something similar: a strange feeling as if something entered their body whenever they killed a zombie. But the feeling only happened to those that had the 'killing blow'.

After having killed the fourth zombie that got near, 2 'coins' that looked similar to a national currency dropped when the zombie was killed.

The men who found the coins didn't know what do with them and decided to ask their 'leader'.

Brian glanced at the 2 coins in their hands before feeling annoyed that these men decided to ask him what to do with coins that were obviously from a cartoon or something. Brian has never even heard of a coin being octagonal. The coin looked to be made out of gold and had strange markings which led Brian to believe the coins were just some trash items. But even though he felt the men were idiots and was annoyed at them for bothering I'm when he was checkin our the young women in the group, and even eyeing a teen under the legal age, the man had to keep up appearance and said in the best friendly tone possible

"Your eyes must I've been playing ticks on your from all the stress. I mean, come on. Do these look like some valuable coins now that the world is ending. Take a break from hunting the zombies."

The group of 4 men wanted to speak back, but believed Brian and just nodded before heading back to the group and dropped the 2 weird coins on the ground.

With a group of 31 people, the group could easily have another squad take their place and the location should only be a couple of blocks away had Brian thinking that with their numbers, they'd be able to easily get to the location of the army camp.

After settling everything Brian had the group continue as they encounter a few more zombies.

But, at the end of the group, Gabriela was watching closely and noticed the strange coins appear out of thin air and knew the coins were valuable, hence, when the squad and Brian dropped the coins, Gabriela waited for the group to get ahead before crouching down and picking up the coins. Her daughter was confused, but Gabriela just placed a finger to her mouth and gestures to be silent.

Her daughter not knowing why they stopped to pick the coins off the ground was confused, but just nodded at her mother's gesture. Brian was too busy giving order to the group going forward that he wasn't peeking on Gabriela.

And so, the group quickly arrived at the wall and stood a distance away from the booth where a man could be seen inside the booth along with a small door next to the booth and 4 turrets standing on the both sides of the booth.

The group was awed by the military camp before stepping forward and heading to the only entrance

...

Alex has bought a 150 Krytpo Coin house and placed the medium sized house at the center of the walls with only 550 Krypto Coins left after buying the mansion and furniture to accommodate the 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 3 bedroom, and 2 toilet-house.

After placing the house, Alex returned to the booth and rested in their with the air conditioning that used lights to power.

Alex was playing internet free games on his phone when he spotted a small group up of around 30 people approaching.

Alex felt glad and sad at the same that someone had heard him on the radio and come, but looked dirty like beggars, but was glad when he spoofed the group behind the beggars looked clean.

Alex at this moment thought:

"Money!"

I’m a bit stressed, not suicidal stressed, but just from not getting enough sleep cause I can never go to sleep at 10 pm when I stayed up until 2am on the weekends and I have exams. When it’s summer break I’ll be able to upload 2 more chapters than the usual and ima be on a road trip to Mexico so if I get bored I’ll just write the novel in Mexico
